You have found your voice now sir, havent you. Because you are now a minister in this government so another 5 years for Tinubu is another 5 years for you to still be a minister.Where was your voice for another 5 years to allow for Goodluck Jonathan to fix the insecurity issue at that time. Oh yes, you were nowhere to be found, because you were not a minister in his government at that time, so you had nothing to gain at that time by saying that Jonathan will solve Nigeria insecurity crises in 5 years. But now you know that you will loose your job, if Tinubu is voted out so you are fighting vigorously for your own political survival and to keep your job just like Wike. Shame on you all! Keep decieving yourselves and defending incompetence and a government that has clearly failed Nigerians on the aspect of security of lives at the expense of the same gullible Nigerians who dont know any better. Please serve your time quietly and leave Nigerians and their security debacle out of your political discourse just to score cheap points of loyalty to your paymasters. You never cared for the safety and security of the Nigerian people in the past so why start now. |
iichidodo:I saw what you did there bro.....A SMOOTH CRIMINAL |
6 years later, the probe has been thrown into the dustbins. All the thieves are now either in Government or allowed to go scot free to enjoy their loot. The man himself at the center of it all is now presiding over the senate. What a country, And we wonder why the nations of thee world do not take us seriously. |
hmmn, have money in this life o! E get why. imagine if he had been a nobody with no renown celebrity status. Would the hospital or any other Nigerian hospital for that matter have agreed to treat him without police report confirming that he was not shot as a fleeing robbery suspect. Doctors apply the law for the poor but make exceptions for the rich same as lawyers and policemen do. If it had been a poor man they would ask them to make deposit then go and bring police report first before they treat the victim but here in this scenario, the hospital by themselves contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility, but not without seizing the opportunity to advertise the name and Alakuko location of their hospital for patronage and public recognition as having saved Broda Shaggi's life. The supposed news source did not ask how he got shot or some one is delibrately trying to cover up the news to save face and avoid the public backlash that would follow. Thank God he survived. |
jmoore:See am here, take. I even carry drinks come sef. Abeg shift make me sef siddon with you watch, as this new Netflix series wan start. I fit bet say dis fight go long and e fit play out throughout this season 1. Chance no dey again for FG to do emergency rule since election year don reach. Bros wetin you think na? |
Oga chairman, security agencies are too busy right now nationwide being vigilant over terrorist attacks, banditry and kidnapping to be concerned about rumours of protests that seems to bother government officials more than the well being of citizens whom they are meant to serve and protect. So now answer this question, are your tax laws more important than the security and well being of citizens who are billed to pay taxes? Or are you planning to tax the dead if the insecurity situation grows into a monster that destroys us all? |
Wait o! Is that a woman I spy calmly sitted in the background there @ 02:57 wearing a hijab? Family business I guess.... |
Its interesting the efficiency and extra length the government is willing to go to just to ensure that every citizen or business is being taxed and no one escapes or is being bypassed. They basically want to tax every bank account number and also want to mandate the banks to deduct the tax directly from there. It is high time we all wake up from sleep in this country. Now that it has clearly been confirmed by the government (FIRS) that online capturing of personal data and collection of tax through the banking system without anyone needing to step foot at the bank or tax office is a very real possibility, this same system also needs to be adopted in conduct of future elections whether it be presdential, governorship or others as well with the very same efficiency and accountability required for tax collection. As a bank account holder, one does not need to set foot at the polling station to cast votes anymore, meaning that the voters card and the entire voters' accreditation process can also be bypassed in order to cast votes. It can also simply be done through USSD mobile banking, Internet banking, mobile app banking and so on. If our bank account numbers can be used to deduct tax directly, then they should also be equally used to cast our votes electronically during elections. This will go a long way to prevent voter intimidation at the polling units, vote buying, election malpractice and so many evils associated with election in this country. |
“Our people are living around where they operate. So you can’t just go there,” he noted. “They need to be very careful that in the course of chasing these bandits, they don’t go and bomb innocent Nigerians.” Onanuga referenced a past error in which the military mistakenly struck civilians: “Some years ago in Borno State, when the military thought they had the right satellite connection, they bombed the wrong people. They must avoid that kind of mistake.” Tell us another story please, your people easily went to capture a terrorist far way in another country, kidnapped him carefully and successfully without "bombing or harming" innocent civilians over there and then brought him to Nigeria for trial and subsequent imprisonment, but now you are shamelessly providing this excuse as your reason for not being able to capture local terrorists here in your own country despite knowing exactly where these people are. This is a classic textbook example of incompetence and the more reason why charity should begin at home and not abroad. if you lot cannot solve the problem, then get out of there, quietly resign and give chance for more competent people or better still make way for the Americans and Isrealis to come teach you your own homework on gurriella warfare and how to deal with local terrorists in your own home country. This further goes to prove the gross incapacity of our so called armed forces and all the security forces combined. If we were to be invaded by another country today, then we wont stand a chance as we are seriously lacking in tech, competence, war capabilities and boots on the ground. |
bestofnollywood:This is a very shallow and biased write up that fails to address the real issues on ground by diverting our attention and failing to reveal the true enemies of Africa, the international sponsors of ISWAP, BOKOHARAM, the RSF etc fueling terrorism as well as the monumental corruption of the thieving Western countries who foist their puppet governments on African countries to fleece its wealth and natural resources but turns around to blame coupists as the reason for increase in terrorism and terrorist attacks. Why the focus is on the incompetent French puppet Bassoum of Niger is of no surprise to me, why not focus on Ibrahim Traore and his achievements in Burkina since his assumed leadership of his country. You can only fool gullible minds as a paid writer to sway the narrative but not deep thinkers and true patriots of the African Nation. |
what the hell is this |
Dogalmighty17:To answer you question, you have to understand that most of these people you mentioned above did not attain their position based on merit but based on lobbying, politicking, ethnic or tribal connection, bias, quota system or political appointment. They therefore collect salaries not because they are doing their jobs but because it is considered their reward for achieving that position. Since they cannot easily be removed by the president for their incompetence as first responders, and they themselves also refuse to resign for being obviously terrible at their jobs, then they will continue collecting their salaries and this whole passing the buck thing back and forth will continue. |
lilsmart:You are spot on with this outline brother. But the fact remains that Military grade standard drones are very expensive and often require satellite connectivity and international license agreements between international governments. A huge chunk of our military budget will need to go into that endeavor and what that means is all the past benfeciaries of miltary equipment supply contracts every year will see that door getting closed. And you can be sure they will fight like hell to see that never happens, just the same way diesel suppliers and generator importers will fight against anything and anybody who will try to fix the power problem in Nigeria. So its its a case of the devil and the deep blue sea and we are caught smack in the middle. |
since you are not going to name and shame the security agencies and individuals who sabotaged the state security intelligence/efforts and the supposed nameless "Director" who you claim to have appointed at preventing exactly this kidnapping incident which the DSS warned you about, then why waste your time setting up a useless panel of enquiry to investigate what is clear as day to any one who can read and understand English Language. The buck stops at your table so you have no one to blame other than yourself. Go and bring those girls back or resign from that position because you are obviously not competent enough to be a Governor. |
There's undoubtedly an attempt to sweep this matter under the carpet by the state government because they risk exposing themselves if they start mentioning names as this job racketeering by agents and officials did not start today and the rot goes all the way to the top. Education has never been a priority in the North where teachers hardly come for classes but only show up to collect monthly salaries which is why insecurity grows rapidly. The culprits who tried to buy the job slots also ought to be prosecuted, but they are crying victims because they got scammed by govt agents and are fighting to get their monies back. |
Today, the Peoples Democratic Party remains the only political party that has retained its name since inception. That is because this party belongs to the Nigerian people,” he said. “Make no mistake—we are returning the party to the people. There will be no more impunity.” These jokers must think we are all gullible with short memory. What happened at the time when Atiku, Wike and co. were bribing party delegates to secure the Presidential party tickets, with all the constant in-fightings and corruption for decades gones past. When all manner of hooligans and corrupt govt officials were running the party to the ground for their selfish interests and cross carpeting to the ruling APC after securing the people's vote from PDP. It is now, very late in the day and game, that you remember that the party belongs to the Nigerian people and needs to be returned back to the Nigerian people. Sorry to inform you but every other political party in Nigeria including the APC also belongs to the Nigerian people so that deception cannot work anymore. Go and preach first to your party members and Governors who have de-camped to the ruling APC and bring them back to show that you are serious before coming to preach to Nigerians about the PDP that we all know. Thank you |
DSS, office of the NSA and MDAs of the Nigerian Government whose job it is to protect the lives of citizens have collected their salaries for last month and left the group chat.... |
It's a shame what this country has become. You won't see police or security agents tear gassing or arresting these protesters because they are sponsored by the government in power to distract us. But when you see genuine protesters crying out against insecurity, bad governance and injustice, our shameless police force will be on duty with full force to disrupt them. I think it's time we divide this country and let every region and tribe face their own problems. Those who are okay with terrorists and their government sponsors should move over there and stay there permanently doing their useless protests, whilst the saner human beings amongst us who still value human life and a government that truly works for its people can remain here. |
Sovereign Nation my foot. A nation that continues to allow wanton killing of innocent Nigerians whilst its government and security agencies turn a blind eye and protect the terrorists and their sponsors. If the ministry of foreign affairs is sure of itself as a soverign nation, why cant they bodly tell the US government to shut up and mind its own business instead of that useless apologetic response of saying the country “will continue to defend all citizens, irrespective of race, creed, or religion.”, knowing full well that they have no plan or clue on how to deal with the terrorists without compromising the status of certain powerful people who are in government today. Continue decieving yourself over there, you hear. Wait until your own children or family members are being kidnapped and killed too. Maybe when you yourself get kidnapped by bandits and terrorsits and have personally suffered the pain and loss of loved ones, then you will also solve the problem with Nigerian solutions as you have said to others. Nonsense and Sovereign Nation. tundegan: |
In othewords, he is playing safe in the interest of self preservation as this is not a Natasha scenario where he can fight back and win with state resources and the powers of our judicial system at his whim. There are levels to this thing called power and where his own power stops is where Trump's own power begins. MadPolitician: |
He continued, “I am a Nigerian, a parliamentarian, and the Deputy Senate President of a sovereign nation. I am not scared of Trump. Don’t be scared of Trump. You can say your mind about him. We are a sovereign nation. He is saying lies about our country, and we have the right to dispute it. A shameless rhetoric coming from a Senator who thinks sovereignty is about the invisible lines marking out a nation's boundary on the ground. A sovereign nation which protects the political class and elites with police security but cannot protect the lives of its citizens from terrorists, kidnappings and wanton killings A sovereign nation in which the political class send their children to school abroad while it's own local education system is in decline. A sovereign nation in which they travel abroad for their medical emergencies because they know the local health sector is a death trap for ordinary Nigerians. A sovereign nation that depends heavily on importation of food/finished goods and survives on loans and endless borrowing from other developed nations every year to fund its government expenses and lavish lifestyle of the political class without exporting finished goods leaving debts for future generations to pay. A sovereign nation whose government sleeps for so long on raging insecurity, ignoring the cries of its own dying citizens but suddenly wakes up from sleep when the President of another sovereign nation threatens to take action. A SOVEREIGN NATION INDEED!!! Whilst the American president is taking a hard stance on illegal immgration, criminals, armed gang violence and drug cartels in America even all the way to the Mexican border, our dear President here is granting pardons to criminals, drug kingpins, kidnappers, terrorists, bandits and armed groups coming in and out of our borders without check, even going as far as reintegrating repentant insurgents into our security architecture and denying their victims justice. Let this sink in for a minute, then you will probably understand why the political class is terribly afraid of Trump's threat of action against the sponsors of terrorism and terrorists in the country because they know that they are all complcit in this madness and will be exposed. Our so called senators and constituency representatives who should be at the forefront of fishing out terrorism sponsors and dealing with criminal terrorists and killers are the same people protecting them and shielding them from prosecution thereby making them bolder to continue in their evils. https://www.nairaland.com/8554719/tajudeen-abas-man-stopped-investigation https://placng.org/Legist/house-speaker-stands-down-probe-of-csos-over-usaid-boko-haram-funding-link/ |
Karma has come round full circle for this current administration. The same people who went and reported then president Jonathan to the US government are fighting back now that they themselves are being reported to the same US government. This means that they never really cared about the welfare of Nigerians or tackling insecurity back then but only wanted to use the situation as a weapon to kick out the former president and seize power. Trust Nigerian politicians at your own peril. shortgun:

So sad, Badore is fast becoming a nightmare zone after dark.... |
Enjoy.

When your heroes Falana & Deji were seeking court order to stop the police from parading & showing these criminal’s faces u supported them, because all of you are enemies of President Tinubu? Now u are complaining, hypocrisy isn’t good o. Any action to discredit President Tinubu’s government u will support blindly, not been aware that u are actually harming your own self? @favor914 What are u talking about bro? Where did u see or hear me supporting anybody to hide the faces of criminals? Maybe u are referring to someone else so patiently look for the person here on Nairaland and direct your "hypocrisy " rant at him or her. You dont know me and I never told you or mentioned here on Nairaland that Falana or Deji were my heroes. I don't support criminals or any government in power whether it's Tinubu or anybody else. What I support is good governance that benefits ALL the Nigerian people and not a few people benefiting from government. I support the exposure of criminals any day to serve as deterrent to others and I support justice in its raw undiluted form and not the kind we practice here in Nigeria that protects the rich, connected and powerful people only but comes down hard on everyone else. I never even said a word about Tinubu in my post but u had to go and bring your misguided and misdirected antagonism into the matter. All I asked for was Justice for Somtochukwu, why drag me in your fight with Tinubu’s enemies? You are clearly damaged yourself whilst thinking you are better than others. |
Stewpid video and even more stupid criminal driver answering questions whilst their faces are being hidden. Protecting the identity of criminals as usual in other not to offend their tribes men in the corridors of power but rather to offend our sensibilities. Justice must not only be done but must also be seen as being done. We want to see their trial in court, we want to see their sentencing and punishment according to the law. We want justice speedily done for Somtochukwu and not this time wasting media charade. Justice for Somtochukwu!!! |
By Obas Esiedesa, Abuja Electricity supply across the country may face disruptions as members of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) in the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) have embarked on an indefinite strike over unresolved welfare and operational issues. In a notice dated September 24, 2025, and signed by its Acting General Secretary, Dominic Igwebike, the union directed all TCN workers to withdraw their services with immediate effect, citing the expiration of an earlier ultimatum issued to the company’s management. The union said the action became inevitable after repeated appeals to address outstanding staff salaries, welfare demands, and operational challenges were ignored. Issues raised include non-implementation of the national minimum wage, casualisation of workers, non-provision of tools and protective equipment since 2021, non-payment of staff salaries since April 2025, lack of operational vehicles, and unresolved retirement benefits. The notice read: “We cannot continue to fold our arms while we watch our rights being violated and the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) going down the drain. To this end, the union is compelled to withdraw its services until management discharges its obligations to the workforce. This directive takes immediate effect and total compliance is expected.” The TCN manages the national grid system including high-voltage transmission towers, substations, and other critical power supply assets. Checks on power supply as of 5:00 pm Thursday, however, showed that the national grid was still operating normally, with total load allocation to distribution companies at 4,411MW. On the generation side, Engineer Power (601MW), Kainji Hydro (473MW), and Shiroro Hydro (398MW) were the top three contributors. Efforts to get TCN’s reaction were unsuccessful, as the company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, did not respond to calls or messages. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/09/blackout-looms-as-tcn-workers-down-tools-over-unpaid-salaries/ |
Only 2 people out of the thousands of criminals and killers in that area and you are shamelessly showing them off so we should clap hands for you while innocent Nigerians are being killed by these people in their hundreds every now and then. How is the arrest of only 2 people a significant breakthrough? Cattle rustlers with no names, and blurry faces. Keep deceiving yourselves over there and protecting criminals and terrorists. You people put dem on the ground and snap useless pictures to make us think you're doing your job. You are not serious. Instead of you to charge them to court, lock them up and go after their sponsors, you're here telling us that investigation is sill ongoing. Continue deceiving yourselves...you hear? If it so attack Sowore and investigative journalists you will move with speed and precision to arrest them and lock them away because they are exposing the criminals you keep trying to protect from public scrutiny. Nonsense and criminals. |
YeyeGbami:QCs are breaking the jinx as you read this bro. Just like how biotech is now able to identify the genetic chain of events leading to cancer at a molecular level, quantum computers can now also identify the pathways of blockchain transactions at sub-second speeds effectively tracking them. It's all next level stuff dat world governments and powers that be keep under wraps to make us believe that crypto is untraceable. There's never been any technology digital or hardware created without a back door access. Even as the end draws near, all fiat currency worldwide will ultimately be useless and only digital currency will reign supreme. Governments of the world will control that currency so they can control all monies, hence controlling every one and everything else. Tracing crypto will be like a child's play by then. |

Tell this to your boss in Aso rock sir, and not us. Now that the causes of inflation have been identified, you have your work cut out for you. Formulate policies that will curb insecurity, increase electricity supply and stabilize the price of petroleum. We are tired of hearing stories of Nigeria's ailing economy and worsening poverty indices everyday on the news with no solutions. Get to work. |
This is ridiculous. Bandits and terrorists are being sponsored with killings and kidnappings now a daily occurrence in this country. I have never heard the IGP or any IGP in the history of this country for that matter boldly going to court to investigate terrorism financing against the sponsors whom till date have remained elusive and walking free without harassment or arrest. Which is why terrorism and banditry has continued unabated, flourishing into a billion naira industry. Once you hear that kidnappers or bandits have been neutralized on news, we don't see their faces, we are not told their names, we are not told who their sponsors are and the police does not investigate their bank accounts. But on this Sowore matter, they are eager to go to the courts and banks to get information about terrorism financing. This is a witchhunt pure and simple. Not only will this make Sowore more popular, but it will also prove him right that security agencies are without a doubt the attack dogs of the government in power. |
