@xmrpx, I experienced it with my soon to be five year old boy from abt a year three months when he stopped breastfeeding and other foods were introduced to him. He throws up anytime we force him to eat.I resigned to mopping the floor every morning after breakfast cos he will always throw up.
It eventually stopped when we stopped forcing him to eat. I encourage him to eat what he likes like bread aand tea,fried egg and dodo like zaynie said. sometimes,putting his fav cartoon while he eat makes him relaxed and he eats more.he likes fruits too so I indulge him.I reward him when he finishes any meal I give him apart from his favourites.he is still not eating as much as I want but we are getting there. Beating is not the solution cos u will beat and get tired.
U can also change his milk to complan so he gets all needed nutrients.my boy is still skinny for his age but healthy.
U can also get him checked out by a doctor as suggested.we did for my son and nothing was found wrong with him.my mum told me I was a picky eater and skinny too when I was little so it may also be a gene issue too.

P.s, he has a fat best friend who intimidates him with his weight sometimes.so we always tell him harry is big and fat cos he always finish his food.so sometimes when he finshes his food, he will say, 'I will be fat like harry'

You may need to change 'experts' . There are plenty things that he needs food for o, not only to grow fat @ this stage. He needs it for mental and physical growth.
Go to Lifeline Children's hospital if you can afford it or Maternal and Child Centre Gbaja. They cater to only kids.
@ MCC Gbaja, insist that you want a scan to be done to check out his digestive tract abeg. Just to be on the safe side.

Also google on the likely causes.
You may also want to talk to him, why does he do it? Is sth irritating him? Would he like to give new dishes a try? If he doesnt open up to you, gt his fav adult to talk to him. They are usually talkative at this stage.

Dont stop till you find a solution.
Something is making him vomit beating him will only make him more scared of feeding time.

Give him food in bits hourly or every 2 hours.
Like 5 teaspoons of rice instead of a whole plate.
One slice of bread.
3 rolls of eba or any swallow food with okro or plain stew ( veggies tend to cling to their throat)
If its little he wont feel the pressure of being too full to the extent that he will force himself to vomit. He wont use the toilet as he used to.
Gradually increase the intake like every 2 weeks.

Fish/ Meat as he requests.
1 egg daily.
A glass of milk daily.
Carrots, apples, banana and other sweet and crunchy fruits. Even if its just a slice.

Does he like any food in particular?
Give him and prepare it in the most healthy way you can. With lots of protein and veggies.
Kids usually love dodo ( fried plantain)
If he has a sweet tooth then you may want to invest on healthy treats. Certain biscuits have a whole wheat or oatmeal base and loaded with vitamins and minerals. He can munch on them allday everyday.


Is your Dr a Paedatrician? If yes, you may want to seek a 2nd opinion. If No, then please see one.

My daughter used to too, she was diagnosed with reflux but she outgrew it around her one year birthday.

Pls see a good and qualified pediatrician, if you can afford it and you live in Lagos I recommend Reddington or premier hospital cuz those are the pediatricians I used

Else any good govt hospital should do
