NO iPhone 6 cannot control conventional tvs that use infrared technology because it doesn't have the infrared sensor built in. However it can control TV or other electrical appliances that use Bluetooth technology. An example is the apple TV... Iphones can control apple TV or other media boxes that use Bluetooth.

It is not like iphones are not capable but apple are keeping the device restricted. Any android phone with IR blaster can control TV, home theatre, air conditioner, etc.

Someone raised up these issue,in an argument,because its not a new thing to the Samsung and lg users,but recently a gionee user mentioned that his gionee could control electrical appliances,which if true is a welcomed Development.
Now my question is Do Iphone6 control tvs too,because the iPhone 6 user here has been ranting that it can,but that all he needs to do is to download the app...
