Enugu boasts of hotels for every tourists’ budget, from the bouquets to the four-star hotels, there is one for everybody.

Coal City

Enugu’s coal mines are dotted around on the outskirts of the city, a majority of which are closed. The Colliery Camp mines are located in the Iva Valley which is near the neighbouring town of Ngwo and Hilltop of Enugu. The Iva Valley coal mine is accessed through the Iva Valley road linking Enugu with Ngwo. Other coal mines are located in the Ogbete and Coal Camp layouts; these mines are located on the periphery ofthe city near the Iva Valley as well.

Whether you are navigating the most populated area of Enugu’s Abakpa’s area with its rich heterogeneity of all classes of people or the manufacturing industries of Emene which also happens to be home to the famous Oye market and the Akanu Ibiam international airport or the vintage yet contemporary and modern layout of GRA or the bustling commercial centre of New Haven and Ogui Layout or appreciating Trans Ekulu, almost out-of-town location or Uwani area of town and its modestness, Enugu has something for everybody.

All you can Eat

Enugu is blessed with an abundance of food, each specially prepared to tantalize your taste buds, from local flavours to international. There are certain foods that make Enugu stand out...for instance you can’t come into this town and not try the people’s favorite breakfast, Okpa, sold everywhere for as little as N50. For lunch, take sometime to try the local soups in the very many restaurants that litter Enugu.

Emily Restaurants, Chy Malogo and Dolphin restaurant to name a few. Go up New Haven Road for Ntachi Osa or if you want real buka style, try Happy Time at the end of the road. I had semo and ofe nsala soup with goat meat there, and it was very delicious and also affordable at N300. Abacha or African Salad is another delicacy you shouldn’t miss and a great alternative for lunch. You can get it on the street or local restaurant.
