It means you won't be able to play online with the game, since it wasn't initially purchased from your console, well good for offline gaming and most of all only applicable to digital purchased games.

Quite honestly I still don't get it,do you both have to be at the same location on a single console from either of you for this to work, and does a physical copy of the game has to be available on hand?
