richmond500:So now you’re beginning to counter and answer your own questions by yourself The reason why they want very high prices is so that they can produce the easiest methods of refining and flood the market. Little value added, basically just like boiling water and catch what evaporates to get PMS They’re not willing to do anything extra. So if Nigeria agrees to buy his PMS at 1000 naira he’ll as well drop all the other methods of producing several products. Even oil bunkers are producing PMS, go to port harcourt and see. So there’s nothing stoping him from producing more fertilizer and jet fuel. But in jet fuel for example the airline owners are also billionaires and they pushed back on his prices. But you don’t have a voice. So it’s easier to dump it on you. If you will sell crude to me in naira and I can burn and evaporate almost all for PMS I’ll keep up that tight cycle too and make the maximum profit in the shortest time |
richmond500:You’re arguing blindly but today is Sunday. So I have time to educate you This is a picture of a 5liter motor oil on Jumia at 35k or 7k per liter Talk about what you know please not what you think or google
|
richmond500:If you don’t understand refining sciences and all you depend on is google then you won’t understand until you go back and do more research Dangote produces fertilizer, jet fuel, disel. Condensates will produce bitumen for road construction and polypropylene for plastic substrates. So if you google how many liter of gas from one barrel of crude, you’re just getting a basic answer. You get more expensive byproducts that allows you to sell PMS cheaper A simple example is Vaseline. Since you like google, google the prices on Jumia Or google the price of motor oil Or fertilizer Or a benzene derivative drug like Benzodiazepines Find out thier prices and you’ll understand why we can sell PMS for 500 or less |
richmond500:That’s not how it works You get more litres of PMS from one barrel because of air admixture etc In reality during refining you get several byproducts like diesel that are more expensive than PMS Your math is not mathing |
richmond500:A barrel of crude is 159 liters |
richmond500:I live abroad and I know the price of refined products with taxes NNPC is just giving you figures you need to believe the subsidy payments they’re making. The subsidy paid in the last one year eclipsed what some entire administrations have paid in 4 years This time around the crude was pumped to Dangote and refined locally. In refining you add cost of labour, transport ships and trucking to last mile. Labour abroad is a minimum of 2.6m naira per month in these refineries. Dangote is paying some less than 100k per month. Crude was sold in Naira. No shippping costs. Etc etc You’re beginning to buy the lie. Do you wonder why there was scarcity and inflated prices before Dangote came onstream? It’s called orchestration |
Still too high That was what they where selling the imports just a few months ago and the exchange rate hasn’t changed much Dangote is part of the problem of Nigeria |
Absolutely Sometimes people your preach to don’t ponder on it until after you’re long gone |
IamANigerianMan:If the prices are not competitively priced but sold at an inflationary price the currency won’t improve Your currency does well when you have more purchasing power Higher fuel will increase the price of everything else |
If it won’t drop then allow imports |

A balance of trade occurs when you import and export Nigerians export almost everything The fact that there’s a surplus’s indicates they’ve not been importing. Was it replaced by local production? No. Infact a lot of local companies have closed shop since Tinubu stole power. It’s collective poverty that’s causing the surplus which is mainly crude oil exports that go into the pocket of a few. Nigerians have collectively become poorer they can’t buy cars, phones, even rice from abroad like they used too. |
