Lionbite: Vice Chancellors have been advised not to adopt coercive and forceful strategies to get lecturers to resume work.
Dr Busuyi Mekusi, Chairman of ASUU at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, gave this advice in an interview in Abuja on Tuesday.
``We are also pleading with the university administrators not to illegally employ impromptu lecturers.
``They should also not announce fake resumption dates or disrupt the meetings of ASUU members on campuses.
``Such measures will not abate the already frosty relationship between the union, government and the university authorities,” he stressed.
He called for the convocation of `institutional summit` as a way of starting the take-off of a rebirth process for public institutions in Nigeria to become more effective.
He said social transformation would not succeed unless the Federal Government was strongly committed to entrenching strong and independent public agencies.
``We must not continue to deceive ourselves that governance, democracy and politics will reach enviable heights with the kind of public institutions in place.
``The truth of democracy as the expression of the people’s will and aspirations will come alive when Nigeria has public institutions that have

not been politicised,” he stressed.

arcbabe: I love cooking but I don't like going to the market,he can go to the market with the list of items to buy and I will gladly cook for him but going to the market and then cook for him is a NO for me. Am I his slave? Gone are the days that I will want to stress myself because of one guy. atikuman: A cool way to have your money back is by building hostels for student in abeoukuta. I finished from mapoly and knew hostels were not enough not to even talk abt good hostels with toilets and bathrooms. You can count the hostels that's has got good facilities... Most students would pay abt 120k for self cont per year to have a good hotels ...with 5m...u would be able to build a 120 self cont hostel and theres a way u do that two students can't share one bathroom,toilet and kitchen. I did marketing while I was there...the city is mainly for students. Lands are cheap for now...have got a lot of friends in building dep in ogun ministry...so there won't be issue of land and a great lawyer as well...labour is also cheaper than lagos...so here is my no 08028724029...gbuk072001@yahoo.co.uk
