Anyway, it can help the leaders to sit-up. The US is after terrorists, not Nigerians of any religion. They are not invading Nigeria blankly, that would jeopardize even the Christian communities they are purportedly fighting for; their targets are the jihadists who have been invading communities in Benue, Kwarra, Kogi, Plateau, Nassarrawa, etc. I dont know why people do not appreciate this? |

WhizdomXX: This is unacceptable. There is nothing like a repentant terrorist. If they are truly repentant, they should send them to some farm or industry far away from where they are familiar with. Maybe a farm in Osun or Ogun State or pipeline building in the AKK corridor for cheap labour or to work on the eastern railway line. They should be monitored there that's when we'll know if they are truly repentant. They will establish a terror cell there. Ideology-based terrorism or insurgency is not easily rooted out, ever. The best solution is to send them to Allah and 72 virgins. |

Romance › Re: Why I Lost Interest After Meeting A Pretty And Intelligent Lady by Yankiss(m): 1:10pm On Oct 30, 2025 |
tobeezman: I met this fine geh at a tech event in Lagos. Before the event started, we had a little chit-chat and mehn, she was exactly my type. Beautiful, intelligent, confident, and we just clicked. You know that kind of connection that feels like you’ve known someone for years? Yeah, that was it.
Throughout the event, we kept vibing, laughing at the same jokes, sharing ideas, everything just aligned.
At the end, I asked for her name she said Linda. Cool name.
Then I asked where she was from, she said Anambra. My eyes lit up. I’m from Anambra too!
So I got curious and asked, “What village?” She mentioned it and boom, it’s in the same local government as mine. I was like, “This is fate.”
Everything was lining up perfectly. She was single, I’m single, we shared interests, goals, and background… until one tiny moment changed everything.
She gave me her business card and I didn’t see a single Igbo name on it. Both her first and last names were English.
When I got home, I texted her, I asked, gently, “Don’t you have an Igbo name?”
Her reply?
“I don’t like my Igbo name, and I don’t like speaking Igbo either.”
That one message drained everything I felt for her. Instantly.
It wasn’t about tribal pride or anything dramatic, it was just the realization that we might see identity differently. Because for me, being Igbo isn’t just where I’m from, it’s who I am. It’s the rhythm in my thoughts, the tone in my laughter, the root of my values.
And when someone rejects that part of themselves, it feels like they’ve rejected a part of me too.
So yeah… I ghosted her. Not because she wasn’t amazing, but because something in me went cold. Well, you over reacted. What you needed to do was find out her reasons for such preferences. Then give her a little time and discuss with her about your version. Let her choose. She could change or decide to be on same boat. You chickened out too easily. I doubt you loved her ever. |

DoctorAyukebot: You are definitely right. Eight years ago I got up with a blood pressure of 270\156. Within a year I lost everything. A thriving importation business, my woman, my fine-boy status..lol The siblings that I could give my life for during the years of plenty cared less.
Despite the failings from those I naturally felt would be there, I never lacked medications , food nor shelter. The people I could never have imagined would care for me, did show me plenty of love. Firsthand I learned some blood is lighter than water..lol My turn around is nothing short of a Nollywood classic. I can't thank God enough for his Grace that surpasses every understanding. For those he put in my path during those moments of need is nothing short of a miracle Wow. God is really GOOD and GREAT. It does happen that we place our hopes on mortal man and get disappointed. When that hope is ON GOD, anyone could be used to lift you - anyone unimaginable. I thank God for your life. |

DoctorAyukebot: A touching tale that almost certainly sounds fabricated..However, life has taught me not to have any expectations when reaching out to humans and that includes even blood line.
Years back I gave the best to my siblings who today can't afford to ring my line with a simple "How are you". Notwithstanding I have no regrets because that much I did for them was borne of true love and no expectations.
At this stage of my life I'm presently dating a single mum. I do willingly take care of both mother and son with no expectations. Interestingly the seven years old boy promised me a car yesterday. Do I believe him? No!!..He was just excited I bought them a new tv to replace the bad one..Lol Well, it does happen that a stepson grows up and takes the step dad much more seriously than anyone else. It's 50/50. The vagaries of human beings is too much. Don't lose hope. Promising you a car shows much gratitude from the bottom of the heart. He could actualize it later, honestly! Not all stories end this way. I feel this one was fabricated. If it's true, it can only mean that the girl subconsciously missed the real dad, or was manipulated one way or the other. |

jmoore: You are the one that don't understand.
Any large scale operation against Ukraine, Russia citizens will suffer cos Ukraine will target anything they see in Russia.
Secondly, if Russia doesn't have the force for a small operation, they will have to recruit more mercenaries for a large operation. You ended up proving me correct. What I meant was that Russia could deploy nuclear arsenal in Ukraine obliterating it in a matter of minutes. But They couldn't because it would lead to world war. What will Ukraine target in Russia if the later deploys nuclear arsenal? Russia will suffer because world powers would range against her. It's not about Ukraine. Mind you, I don't support Russia war in Ukraine. |

How can a superpower recruit mercenaries to fight for them? You people don't understand the dynamics of modern warfare. Russia cannot go all out in the fight against Ukraine. They could obliterate Ukraine in a matter of minutes. But that would lead to world war. I do not support Russia in this fight though, nor do I appreciate Nigerians making themselves available for this war of blame. |

The father in law either willingly for stated reason or by coercion behind the scenes, supported. If the family of victim insist on the conviction being carried out and the law is set, it would be so, baring political interference. |

immortalcrown: You are the one who didn't understand the comment you responded to.
Sometimes, what is presented to the public as the reason for an action is not the actual reason.
Two things: 1. Why didn't the man publicly forgive his daughter-in-law before the presidential pardon? Is it after the presidential pardon that the man got grandchildren from the pardoned lady?
2. There are many other women and men who are in prison because they killed their spouses. Those one should be granted the same pardon so that they can take care of their children, even if the families of the slain spouses do not publicly claim that they have forgiven the murderers. My brother, I made my observation and comment based on what's apparent, not what's hidden or implied. |
