Some two years ago, Eze Fredrick Nwajiagu, the self styled 'Eze Ndigbo Ajao Estate' made a video that went viral. Incensed at the repeated attacks on Igbo businesses in Lagos, and threats to Igbos from certain quarters not to participate in elections in Lagos, he threatened to invite IPOB to Lagos to protect Igbo interests.

For that, he was arrested, charged for terrorism, charged with financing terrorism and belonging to IPOB. He was clamped detention and denied bail. Some of us have said it here that terrorism is one of the most serious crimes one can commit. That's why terrorism is not mere words alone, it must involve action

Unserious Nigerians have reduced a serious issue such as terrorism to mere words. Nwajiagu has gone to court, the prosecution could not show anything he did, they could only show what he said. Naturally, the courts discharged the man. It's said that he was convicted of parading him self as King of Lagos, when has 'Eze Ndigbo' become a Lagos title? It's good that his lawyers have appealed that decision, and I hope the Judge who gave such a ridiculous judgment will be sanctioned

I urge Nwajiagu to sue the DSS and any authority involved in his unjust arrest and two year detention. This nonsense of commiting 'terrorism by mouth' needs to stop

The Acting Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, on Thursday, vowed to holistically probe alleged cases of anti-party activities involving its members in the state.


The committee also announced plans to establish a disciplinary panel in the coming days, stressing that it would not hesitate to recommend sanctions, including suspensions or expulsion from the party, regardless of an individual’s status or influence.

It said that the focus of the probe would include actions taken by members during the 2023 general elections.


The committee made this vow during a press briefing attended by acting executives from both state and local government levels.

Acting State Chairman Robinson Nname-Ewor said they would immediately begin steps toward healing and rebuilding the once-great party, which he said was battered, with hope lost across the state, 23 Local Government Areas, and 319 electoral wards. He emphasized that they would make the PDP Rivers State Chapter great again.

“To achieve this, we shall consult all critical stakeholders of the party, unite members, and work with them to restore the already lost hope. We shall embark on a sensitization tour across the 23 LGAs and initiate a membership drive to boost the party’s population for future elections...

The DSS should declare Reno Omokri wanted for fanning the embers of ethnic disunity for his selfish political gains. It is on record that the Rwanda genocide against the Tutsis started with hate speeches and posts that culminated to the wanton destruction of lives property with over 800,00 people massacred for being of an ethnic group. Those massacred did not chose where they would be born, neither did they chose their tribe.
Rather the likes of Reno Omokri of the Hutu tribe created hateful narratives around them.

"The genocide was the culmination of decades of division and incitement of hatred towards the Tutsi by extremists in the country’s leadership, which was controlled by members of the Hutu majority group. A deliberate process of positioning the Tutsi as a dangerous and inferior minority group, and even as less than human, set the stage for the genocide that was to come.

Hutu and Tutsi: A colonial legacy of division
Tensions had simmered for decades between the Hutu and Tutsi populations in Rwanda. The region had operated under Belgian colonial rule from after the First World War until 1962. During this time, colonial policies fostered divisions between the Hutu, who made up the country’s largest ethnic group, and the Tutsi, who formed the second‐largest ethnic group. Regurgitating the events of about 60 years ago, just for selfish personal political gains, and stroking ethnic tensions needs to be nipped in the board.
