The National Publicity Secretary of the All progressives Congress, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, says the party is aware that there are many spies of the Peoples Democratic Party within the APC. He, however, maintained that they would keep fishing out spies of the PDP from the party. Mohammed, said this during an interview with our correspondent. He said this while responding to questions on why the APC waited for a former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff, to join the PDP before accusing him of being a Boko Haram sponsor. A former Governor of Lagos State and national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, also alleged three weeks ago that a leader of the party, Chief Tom Ikimi, was also a mole of the PDP. The APC spokesperson said because the APC was a combination of three national parties, it was easy for the PDP to plant moles in the APC. He said the issue was also more complex because in a democratic setting, it was improper for a political party not to allow an individual to join its camp. He said, “Sheriff was always the PDP’s mole and we even suspected him of being a Boko Haram sponsor when he was in our party. You see the APC is a combination of the Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change and the All Nigerian Peoples Party. Sheriff was from the ANPP. “It is difficult spotting moles of the PDP in our party but every now and then, their actions give them away and we begin to watch them. And we will keep fishing them out.” When asked what the difference between the APC and the PDP was since almost the same politicians made up the two parties, Mohammed said the ideology of the APC was what made the difference. “There is a difference, we are progressives. The moment you join our party, you will be given our manifesto and that is what will guide you,” he said. www.punchng.com/politics/well-keep-catching-pdp-moles-says-lai-mohammed/ |

Atiku can never be my president, am not saying he can't win presidential election or that he can't secure the APC ticket rather what am saying is that if he becomes the president I will leave nigeria that same night to GOD knows where? even it has to be niger republic, somalia, mali or better still USA,in short any country will be okay for me in as much as atiku is not the president of such country. it is only in nigeria that people who have not achieved any meaning thing in their previous post will be thinking of contesting for the highest post. |
September 2, 2014 Leave a Comment A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is considering to declare his 2015 presidential ambition on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. As part of the preparations, sources close to his campaign office at Jabi, Abuja said several venues were being considered for the declaration. Some of these venues include the Eagles Square, Sheraton Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Yar’Adua Centre and the National Stadium. It was also gathered that some of his staff were sent on retreat last week on how to handle the declaration and the campaign that would follow. 28th August, 2014 Nwoye emerges new Enugu deputy governor AUGUST 28, 2014 BY IHUOMA CHIEDOZIE 6 Comments Ralph Ifeanyichukwu Nwoye on Thursday emerged as the new deputy governor of Enugu State. The office had become vacant after Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi was impeached by members of the Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday. The new deputy governor, a clergy of the Christ Ascension Church, was screened and cleared by the the house of assembly following his nomination by Governor Sullivan Chime. After the house had returned from a short break during Thursday’s plenary session, the speaker, Hon. Eugene Odoh, read a letter forwarded to the lawmakers by the governor, urging them to expeditiously consider, and approve Nwoye’s nomination. The break was occasioned by the receipt of the letter. Relying on the provisions of section 191 (3) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, Chime in the letter said Nwoye’s nomination was sequel to the vacancy in the Office of the Deputy Governor. After the letter had been read, the Leader of the house, Hon. S. K. Ude-Okoye, seconded by the Deputy Leader, Hon. John Ukuta, moved motions for the immediate acceptance and consideration of the letter, and for the nominee’s screening. Nwoye was then ushered into the chambers of the house for screening, but he ended up just taking a bow after a lawmaker, Hon. John Anichukwu, pleaded with his colleagues that “the reverend gentleman standing before us be allowed to take a bow and leave the chambers.” Ude-Okoye supported the plea, noting that Nwoye had been screened and cleared by the house in the past, when he was appointed as the commissioner of environment and solid minerals, and had also appeared before the legislators when he served as the elected deputy chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Area. Moving a motion for the house to clear Nwoye, Ude- Okoye said, “By age he is qualified to be the deputy governor of this state, he is qualified by birth. “He is qualified as a full Nigerian, and by educational qualification, he is qualified to hold this excellent position.” The house leader added that Nwoye was also qualified due to his conduct as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party. Nwoye was described as a loyal party man. “He is qualified by the conduct known by this house as one-time commissioner for environment and solid minerals of this state, and one-time deputy chairman of Nkanu East. “Twenty-four of us are members of the same party and Rev. Nwoye is our party member and a loyal party man. “I am moving a motion that this house clear Rev. Nwoye as the deputy governor of Enugu State.” The lawmakers, through a voice vote, unanimously adopted the motion and cleared Nwoye. The development came barely 48 hours after Onyebuchi’s impeachment on Tuesday by the Enugu State House of Assembly after a panel of enquiry found him guilty of allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him by members of the house. Onyebuchi was accused of running a poultry in his official residence, in spite of a resolution of the house which outlawed the practice, and also refusing to represent the governor at official functions. Having denied the allegations in his testimony before the investigative panel, Onyebuchi has said he will challenge his impeachment in court.www.punchng.com/news/nwoye-emerges-new-enugu-deputy-governor/ |

atlwireles: Feb 2015 is about 7 months away. All our questions will be answered. Expect at least 2 PDP senators from Oyo and at least 6 house members.in that case expect 3 PDP senators from ekiti state and 100% PDP federal reps from ekiti!!!!like you rightly said feb 14,2015 will settle these |
sigmundfreud: I sincerely hope those 3 will not be contesting due to that o.. I think so as well but come to think of it who else can they present to face GEJ only time will tell |
atlwireles: We already have a majority leader from Oyo state and God willing she is the speaker in-waiting. Ekiti will not produce members with the seniority needed to campaign for a leadership role in the house. Thinking PDP will lose any of its current seats in Oyo stste is too amateurish. PDP is more stronger in Oyo state than Ekiti.. PDP is more stronger in oyo state than ekiti haba, wait ooo do we now have two oyo state in nigeria or is it the same oyo state where I reside?let me ask you this, fine APC can't win the governor seat come 2015 in oyo state that is for sure.I doubt if APC will come second(pdP and accord) but can PDP win in all the local goverment of the state like what happened in ekiti state ??if your answer is no,so on what Bases is pdp of oyo state stronger than ekiti pdp?mind you am not from oyo state but I was born, bred, schooled apart for my university decree which was in nearby ile ife in ibadan the oyo state capital.I know oyo state politics more than my state |
tit: 1) He cant win pdp presidential primaries. I agree with on your first point.but believe you u my lovely PDP will gladly hand over senatorial ticket, gubernatorial tiicket to him if he demand for it.if ribadu can be wooed back to be the PDP with ready made gubernatorial PDP ticket.you will agree with me that ribadu can't pull tambuwal crowd anyday anytime, and for the speakership it was not PDp that made him th speaker,I rest my case |
atlwireles: The Nations is simply being silly. Nobody in PDP considers Tambuwal a member. With all due respect, he left the party last year August. We know come Feb 2015, you never hear his name associated with PDP ever again. The rightful person from Oyo state will become speaker from the PDP.. DREAMLAND THING,if the next speaker will come from southwest then it will have to com EkITI STATE which is likely to deliver more federal honorable to PDP,mind you the only reason why oyo state almost produced the speaker in 2011 was because it was only oyo state that had a federal honorable from PDP in 2011.which is not likely to repeat in 2015 quote me. |

Tambuwal must really be feeling like a DON toward. 2015,only him with four options, which include going for the presidency, senate, sokoto governor or better still defecting to APC......he better make a wise decision so as not to end up like na'abba... |
Tambuwal’s comment unsettles Presidency House Speaker Aminu Tambuwal’s political hazy future has unsettled the Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). There were fears yesterday in the PDP that Tambuwal is likely to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC). It was also learnt that the ruling party has not foreclosed “plans” to sack Tambuwal if he switches over to APC, after making a “code statement”. The PDP has used the ongoing vacation of the National Assembly to woo Senators and members of the House of Representatives to secure a comfortable majority in the two chambers. But it was learnt last night that Tambuwal has kept his game plan to his chest. His decision on 2015 may come be in the last minute. There are rumours that he may either vie for a presidential ticket or return to Sokoto State for the governorship poll. Investigation by our correspondent revealed that the Speaker created unease in the Presidency and PDP when he declared that “Nigeria deserves good leadership in 2015”. Also, when responding to a question on whether he would defect to APC or not, he simply said: “Kowa ni tsuntsu kukan gidan su yake yi”, which means “birds of a feather flock together”. Some Presidency and PDP chiefs, it was said yesterday, regard Tambuwal’s comments as “disloyal, lack of faith in the ruling party and a tacit opposition to the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan”. A highly-placed source said: “The comments of the Speaker have caused some disquiet in the government and at the party level. “Some forces in the Presidency and PDP considered Tambuwal’s comments as “anti-party” and lack of support for Jonathan’s re-election bid. “They are also claiming that the Speaker has confirmed the suspicion that he has always had sympathy for the opposition. “These forces believe it would be a slight on the ruling party for the number four to defect to APC.” Asked of the next line of action, the source said: “I think the PDP may not allow Tambuwal to beat it to the game. Once he moves to APC, he may need to vacate the office. This is why the party is already consolidating its hold on the National Assembly.” The PDP is wooing more lawmakers in the National Assembly, especially members of the House of Representatives. The party is determined to have “a comfortable majority” in the House of Representatives to take charge. “PDP has realised that it is a bit legally difficult to sack some of its members who defected to APC from the National Assembly. The process will have to go from the lower court to the Supreme Court. “The alternative is to ‘hijack’ the National Assembly, especially the House, and dictate its pace.” A source in Tambuwal’s camp said: “We know the Presidency and the PDP have been uncomfortable since the Speaker delivered his coded message. “Their attack dogs have been abusing us in some online media since Sunday. But they have forgotten that democracy is about people and what they want at any particular time. “At the appropriate time, the Speaker will make his plans for 2015 known to his constituents and associates.” Pressed to know the office the Speaker might seek in 2015, the source added: “Tambuwal has kept his joker to himself. Not even his confidants can say his mindset. “He has some options which I think he won’t disclose until the last minutes to the primaries for 2015 poll. At best, you can say he is consulting.”. thenationonlineng.net/new/tambuwals-comment-unsettles-presidency/ |
