Car Talk / Re: Share Your Car Service/user Manual by Years(m): 8:10am On Sep 14, 2016
Pls I need to know if he has manuals for Mazda mpv 2003,Golf and Lexus ES series ntwk 2000 and 2004.
Macmilla:
To all those who need these repair manuals, u should be willing to make some sacrifices.
Ppl like Temas have these files, but u know these files can be large. They have done a wonderful job already by getting it from wherever they got it, so expecting them to still use their expensive data to send it to u is not fair.

The eod repair file I posted up there is 389mb, expecting an individual to use about 400mb of his data to send it to me is ridiculous (at least in Nigeria grin ), so I did the needful by taking the cost of uploading it to drop box. He uploaded it to dropbox and now any other person dt needs it gets it FREE.

My suggestion is this. If u need a manual and someone has it, ask him if he can upload it FOC. If he can, Good for u. If he can't due to data constraints, ask him the size of the file and based on d file size, send him data or airtime that can COMFORTABLY upload it to dropbox and then share the link here for ppl coming after u to have it free.

A little sacrifice will help us all.

how about you let your money work for you while you'll have time for your other priorities. I can guarantee you 10% returns of your capital monthly for that 8 months and you're capital back at the end of the period, no risks attached or 40% monthly and we share any risks encountered during this business.

Car Talk / Re: Why Not Use Diesel Engine (passenger Cars) by Years(m): 7:31am On May 30, 2015
[quote author=edward1984 post=34203032]Diesel technology is constantly being improved, Though there are few pros and cons of diesel engine. One of which is.
PRO Diesels get great mileage. They typically deliver 25 to 30 percent better fuel economy than similarly performing gasoline engines. Diesels also can deliver as much or more fuel economy than traditional gasoline-electric hybrids, depending on the models involved and whatever rapidly developing automotive technology achieves.
CON Although diesel fuel used to be cheaper than gasoline, it now often costs the same amount or more. Diesel fuel is also used for commercial trucks, home and industrial generators, and heating oil, so as demand for diesel passenger vehicles grows, the price of diesel fuel is likely to continue to rise because of competition from those other users.

This might be part of the reasons why it's almost hard to find an average diesel engine(saloon) on Nigerian soil (car market or stand) It took me along time to come across a saloon diesel engine when I was scouting something ago. I think they're great engines and in a country like Nigeria where gasoline is what it is I think the best bet is to settle for a diesel engine.
So a quick question : do you have one yourself? Can we see? And it's stats. Thanks.

Car Talk / Re: Diesel Engine Club, You Welcome by Years(m): 12:39am On May 04, 2015
(Interestingly, a 2.0 diesel engine is often quicker than a 2.0 gasoline engine from the same manufacturer,
Because diesel engines have lower rev limits than their gasoline equivalents, their transmission and differential are geared much higher than the same in a gasoline set-up. This suits the low-speed torque characteristics of the diesel motor, and allows the vehicle it's installed in to have a reasonably high top speed.)
This part I like.

Some toyota models are diesel powered. Eg, Avensis, Camry, Corolla, Hiace, Hilux, Hilux Surf,
Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado, RAV4, Yaris,
Caldina etc. Lexus only diesel vehicle is the IS200d and IS220d of the second generation
You say IS200 ehn? I just checked it up not bad at all and I think my interests just got hooked Buh my doubt is that do you think this one will be as smooth as it's petrol counterpart when it comes to driving and how reliable is it compared to analysis presented here earlier on diesel engines?
[quote author=nurey post=33337315]
The most popular diesel engine you will find in nigeria is still the VW product passat, bora and jetta, the golf diesel isn't as common as those except ones used by Julius berger.
The popular toyota with diesel is Hilux DLD variant, I have not come across any other diesel asian vehicle though I know mitsubishi has.
There is a guy here on NL who once said he uses an accord diesel powered I think 2005 model year.
I'm personally not a fan of VW to be honest Buh I wouldn't even mind Audi products . Hilux? Yes I have seen once or twice but I'm more interested in the saloon versions just as you said a fellow has an accord I will really like to see the accord really.
And with the way fuel matter is handled in this country I think the best get away is the diesel engined car. Making part available readily is another matter Buh I know in naija there's always a way. Thanks anyway.

One curious question I want to ask is that are there diesel engine powered saloon pupular products like the lexus, Toyota available ? Maybe it's just me because I have never come across one . Perhaps anyone here could help list products relative to their models that are available not just in Nigerian market. Thanks

Travel / Re: Employed But Relocating To Canada, Candid Advice Needed! by Years(m): 1:11pm On Mar 01, 2015
Also have intention of relocating soon to Canada Buh the fear of not getting a proper job scares me and the fact that it would take 3to 4years to stabilise makes me have goose pimples at the thought of it only.
I have a job here too it pays well Buh the downside is that it doesn't give me time to spend with my family as I just got married, this is why I thought of settling outside the country in a place like Canada to work were I get to go home daily.
Did I mention that I'm a marine engineer and anything close to engineering will do me Buh with all I have been reading on NL about jobs in Canada scares me and delivering pizza for a leaving?....Odikwa
Buh I will be following this thread keenly sha since someone said with proper planning perhaps they could pls help share how and what steps should be taken.
Thanks

Ceasar1: I don't know a thing about inter-ethnic weddings but I think you should dress in your desired attire. And your wife in hers. It's your wedding after all.
Exactly what I thought Buh I'm just been attacked from both families of what is norm and what's traditional that's my issue here .
Culture / Re: Inter Ethnic Wedding Dress, Which Is Right? by Years(m): 7:29pm On Oct 03, 2014
Spicylate: well for the first part, you can wear the brides attire and the second part yours.

I don't actually know about parts in traditional weddings Buh I intend to perform the traditional rights in the morning while church wedding will start by noon. So I might not have the privilege of changing cloths
Buh thAnks for the insight
Culture / Inter Ethnic Wedding Dress, Which Is Right? by Years(m): 9:38am On Oct 03, 2014
How do I get this right? My wedding ceremony is coming up few weeks from now Buh I have a problem with dressing in the right attire. This is an inter ethnic traditional wedding, and I was told by the bride's family to dress in their native dress Buh I don't want to wear another tribe's attire because I feel I should be in my own attire as well show casing were I'm from which is the main essences of the union (two diff tribes coming together).
But since I know little about inter ethnic weddings I really want your candid opinion and experience on how's it's done. Thanks
