transcript

After finger prints and all

V.O: what do you plan to do?
Me: I plan to study for my Master's in *** at *** University

(he looks at my i-20)
V.O: your friend is sponsoring you?
Me: Yes, Mr *** ***, he is my parishioner and a stakeholder in the Diocese of ***, he is taking up my sponsorship , well apart from being his parish priest, because of my academic achievement as the best graduating Student in my bachelors degree and the encouragement from my bishop.

V. O: did you say recommendation from your bishop?
Me: (after getting what he was asking) No, encouragement from my bishop

V. O: are you a Catholic priest? (there was catholic priest that was the first person to be interviewed today)
Me: Anglican Episcopal

V. O: Ohh Episcopal
Me: Yes Episcopal

Types type type

V.O: what do you want to do with this study?
Me: (I can't say I coordinated myself with the answer) my area of ministerial interest is to lecture at one of the seminaries in the supra-west of the church of Nigeria and a masters degree is the minimum to stand a chance, so this couurse will not only equip me with the analytical framework needed for apologetics research and writing, to articulate the gospel with intelligence, it woyuuld also help me achieve this ministerial goal.

Types types tyoes

V. O: what does *** do? (asking about my sponsor)
Me: He is a property developer, he is the CEO of tbags associates (he faces me) a property development firmed based in *** and here in Abuja. (I quickly added) he gave me his account statement in case you would like to go through it.

V. O: OK (gestures to collect it/ My coach already told me to bring it out before my interview and say I have it before they ask me, the arrangement during my mock interview was to tell the VO I had the SOA at the point when I state the reason he was sponsoring but I forgot, as soon as he asked again, I used the opportunity) *** I passed the SOA ***

(my SOA has one month gap, I had thought it would be a problem and that I would be questioned, but my coach already told me i could use a one month gap SOA)

My VO checked the account for a while, page by page... He even bent his neck cuz font size was small....

Then type type type

V.O: Do you have family in the US?
Me: No sir, I don't have any family in the US

V. O: do you have family in Nigeria?
Me: yes sir, my fiancee, mom, dad, they are all here in Nigeria

V.O: have you ever been to the US (not sire how he asked again) or have you travelled out/US before
Me: No sir, this is my first time (in Jesus name)

Type type type type

He took my passport, gave me white paper, he started talking bhet I ddnt think I was hearing anything I only heard usually takes 7 working days

Me in my mind: even if it is 14 days, I have already told my passport by faith that we came to this embassy together, but I will see you up at pickup station.

V.O: have a good day
Me: and you too sir, God bless you...

I was leaving, I reversed to check window number while he was calling the next applicant.

It still feels like a dream.
I got back home around 8:30 everyone was surprised and asking what happened that I am home so early.

See fam, everything I typed here did not take up to 2minutes, it was really short.

Tips:
- Pls pray
- whatever you need to print, print them from your home, if you think you will come and print it at the embassy premises, your pocket will tear (I am not cussing) one Alhaji was told 2k to print one page of document, he said they told him DS-160 is 8k. But if there is a document that escaped your mind during your preparation and you need it, be ready to pay a fortune.

- Pls prepare, whatever suggestions your coach tells you do it... I am grateful for mine, She did well in preparing me. Even though I was not even asked many of the things I had prepared for.
- Pls even if you have a script, listen to the question well before you give a response.
- Pls don't forget my tip number one, pray, go in God's favor and preparation.

I thank God for being a part of this group and many other that I joined in preparation for today, to the guys on YouTube that shared their experiences and to every script here. God bless you all.

May God favor those awaiting and aspiring. You will also testify in Jesus name. Amen.

I’ve tried over 3 different passports and the system is rejecting them

The are all under 240kb

But please how come were you able to be granted the emergency interview when your program start date is august, how did it worked for you?
God knows all things, however the possible explanation I can give is to say it could be because the regular appointment (October cool I was given at first fall behind the start date of my program (August).

Hi,
Thanks for all the work you all gurus are doing here.

I just got my Sevis today and got some few questions. ot some few questions.

- In the order of funding, personal funding is the first and employer funding is the third. Would this pose an issue during interview? Would they require me to show a personal bank statement covering the amount of personal funding on the Sevis?

- Also, please is there any way available to pay for Sevis from Nigeria?

- can I book a date for interview with this Sevis then pay for Sevis later before the interview?

- is there any other thing to look out for on the Sevis?

You guidance would be really appreciated. Thanks
Hello fellow comrade,

I am guessing by "I got my sevis today" you are referring to your i-20 or your sevisfee payment coupon. I will go with i-20 because of your enquiries.

1. Whatever funding modes that's listed in your i-20 I think it is the best and wise thing to get a SOA to back it up during your f1 interview. From those who have shared their experiences I think every proof of funding must be shown. So be on the safer side, whatever you have listed on personal funding makes sure to have a personal SOA that will reflect it.

2. Yes you may. In my case, while I was looking for the means to pay my sevisfee, I paid for my visa application then went on to book my regular appointment.
If you will need to request for an emergency appointment, you will be needing your sevisfee receipt.

3. I heard that there are people on this platform that help people pay their sevisfee. I had already paid mine before I got to know about this platform and forum. I was charged a huge amount by the agency that helped me. And if you have friends in the US, I heard they can help too.

My responses are not exhaustive so get as much counsel as you can get.

I wish you well.

Yes, you have to.

Ikenna04:
but you are meant to be within 60 days of your start date before you can apply for an emergency appointment

osadestiny:
Please when did you get this date 28th of may
I got the date on Monday after the approval of my emergency request.

To be eligible for emergency request
1. You need to have a normal regular appointment... In my case, my appointment was for October 8 and my program is meant to start in August.
2. You then file in for an emergency request. You will need your i-20 and sevisfee receipt, and the reason for the request
3. If approved your will then be asked to reschedule your appointment.

I hope this info helps.

MY PROPOSED VISA INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT
VO: Good morning pass me your i-20 and passport please
Me: Good morning. God bless you. How are you? Here you go (pass the document requested)

VO: why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going to the US to pursue my Master’s degree at Biola University, California with major in Christian Apologetics.

VO: Why did you choose the US? Why not UK or Canada?
Me: I chose the US because Biola’s Christian apologetics programs at Talbot School of Theology are led by some of the most respected thinkers and scholars in the field like William Lane Craig, Craig Hazen, Sean McDowell. These have debated some highly placed scholars of different worldviews on various platforms and have made brilliant impressions. So it will be a great opportunity for me to learn from these professors.
[it was suggested and from the transcripts I have read here that it is better to not give them the cliché that US is good, certificate is valid but rather to talk about the uniqueness of the university as the influencing fact for choosing]

VO: How did you hear about Biola University and why choose it?
Me: I learned about Biola University from an intensive search for the best schools to study Christian apologetics. In my search, Biola University was top-ranked, it is a dedicated faith-integrated learning institution in the heart of Southern California and its Christian apologetics programs at Talbot School of Theology are led by some of the most respected thinkers and scholars in the field like William Lane Craig, Sean McDowell. They have debated some scholars from other worldviews on various platforms and have made brilliant impressions. So it will be a great opportunity for me to learn from these professors.

VO: Why did you choose this course? Why this degree? Why Christian Apologetics?
Me: I have chosen this course/pursuing this degree/ Christian Apologetics because my area of ministerial interest and goal is to lecture at the seminary however, a master’s degree is the minimum requirement to stand a chance.
So completing this course/degree/Christian apologetics will not only equip me with the analytical framework needed in apologetics research and writing to explore, articulate and explain a faith-based perspective on topics such as evolution, the existence of God, the reliability of the Scripture and the problem of evil to make a case for the Christian faith and belief confidently and with authenticity in the face of contending objections, it would also help me to achieve this ministerial goal.

VO: Are you in the orders? How long?
Me: yes, I am an ordained priest in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion serving in the Diocese of *** since June 2019. It is over 2 years now.

VO: Where/When did you complete your undergraduate degree?
Me: I graduated from ******* College of Theology, *** with a Bachelor of theology first class honor in May 2019.

VO: Did you take any standardized test?
Me: No I did not.

VO: Why?
Me: It was optional since English language had been the language of instruction for all my education.

VO: How many other schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to one other, Harvard University school of divinity.

VO: Have you ever been to the US?
Me: No, I have not.

VO: Are you married?
Me: No, I am not married.

VO: What are your plan after graduation?
Me: I will return back to Nigeria and take up a lecturing role as an authority in Christian Apologetics at my alma mater, ***** College of theology, ****, where I will use the knowledge, exposure and experience I gather during my study to impact seminarians. I will combine this with my pastoral ministry.

VO: You do not have any scholarship, so who is sponsoring you?
Me: I have a private scholarship from Mr *** ***, he is my parishioner and the basis for this scholarship is because of my achievement as the best graduating student at my undergraduate degree.

VO: What does he do?
Me: He is the CEO of **** Limited, his company offers professional services in building and civil engineering works, property development, survey, architecture and general contractor.

VO: Do you have his bank statement? Can I see it?
Me: Yes, I do and sure you can. Here you go (planning to get a letter of sponsorship from him).

@fairheart, Twoods, Lagosismyhome, and other amazing people i humbly ask for your inputs, my interview is scheduled for 28th of May in Abuja.
