Just thought to post this.

You do not need to change your location on your DS 160. See the attached screenshot from the US website

blesziano:
Please how did you update your DS-160 to reflect Abuja since you chose Lagos initially.

I am in this position and my interview date is 20th August.

Please help

Hello.

If possible, can you pay another DS 160 fee and probably apply to Abuja. I had to change my ER from Lagos to Abuja and within two days it was approved in Abuja. I was waiting for response from Lagos for like more than weeks before switching to Abuja. Using the new DS 160 fee I think you can apply for another emergency request with another DS 160 fee. Put all the things you can. I even put my Admission letter, SEVIS. I wish the best of luck.

Trey195:
Hello everyone. My ER in Lagos was just denied. Please has anyone here's F1 visa emergency appointment in Lagos been approved recently? Did you submit SEVIS fee receipt as part of your documents?

Hello. Well apart from the enrollment deposit upon admission (like $1,000), i have not paid anything yet. Although I have about 75% funding and have applied for a loan for the remaining percentage (it will not be disbursed until i physically arrive). Other financial obligation such as insurance has been charged to my student account and have some amount of days left to pay. But will settle that once i arrive or probably before. I hope that addresses your question in some way.
Tega1986:
Hello, does it mean you paid tuition fees and other financial check-ins before starting the virtual classes or you will pay upon arriving the US? Please advise as this is like my current case now. Thanks @ Yemish19

Hello. I do not think you need to defer. My start date was August 2nd, though classes have started which i have been attending virtually. I just recently got my EA approved with a date for August 20. I have spoken to the school and they are fine with it. I think discuss with your school and let them know. Most can allow you to start virtually especially since last year, almost classes were virtual. My thoughts though.

Hello Guys,

I applied for EA on the 19th of July for Abuja and got approved yesterday. I saw August 18th downward but sadly my start date is August 17th so apparently the date won't work for me.

So I used my EA to pick September 21st with the plan to defer my admission to spring 2022.

Guys can I use that my September 21st for my Spring 2022 when I get my new I-20 ?
