Politics / Re: Mend Strikes As Threatened, 7 Confirmed Dead by yemitide(m): 5:02pm On Oct 01, 2010 |
I said the majority of organizations. . . NOT ALL. Can't people understand English. Of course the Basque separatist group is considered a terrorist organization by some, but actually I support their movement as well. Hmm, I'd like to hear your reasons for supporting this terrorist organisation. Go ahead. The Lords Resistance Army is considered a terrorist organization, and they are a rebel group that operate within the DRC, Sudan and Uganda. The supporter of APC are considered a terrorist organization. Even Boko Haram is considered a terrorist organization. MEND is not. Do you wonder why? Which countries have listed Boko Haram as a terrorist organisation. With actions like this, MEND is positioning itself to become a terrorist organisation. If they get classified as a terrorist organisation, it'll definitely hurt them because few international organisation would want to talk with them and the Nigerian government would get international support to pursue them at all costs including violence. |

oyb, Who said I support MEND? A predominately Ijaw organization. I lean towards the Ndi Igbo and Ibibio, not these Ijaw organizations. Are you familiar with Spain's Basque Separatist movement called ETA. They have been campaigning for Basque independence for over 30 years and typically use bombs targeting Spanish police and civilians. They do give advance warnings for some of their bombings. And when the bombings go off and kill innocents, they cast the blame on police for failing to follow through with security. 9/11 in the U.S., 7/7 in London and the Madrid bombings have definitely shown that even Western countries struggle to react to warning signs. And oh ETA are classified by the West as a terrorist organisation. They are not muslim. The sole reason why MEND might not be classified as a terrorist organisation soon is because many in the West are used to hearing about rebel groups in African countries that they'll simply cast it off as another rebel group. May God bless the souls of those who needlessly perished on this day of Golden Jubilee, may God comfort their families and may all Nigerians strive to make this country a place where these activities will no longer occur. |

@Sagamite, have you actually been to any of these countries? I've been to England and Germany. In England, I met gentlemen as well as people that wouldn't qualify as gentlemen (for example: chavs). In Germany, I wasn't exactly thinking efficient with some of the Germans I met. I've yet to travel to Japan but I'll let you know how indecisive they are when I get there. Nice try. |
Sports / Re: Does Spain Deserve To Win This World Cup? by yemitide(m): 3:02am On Jul 12, 2010 |
No team ever DESERVES to win the World Cup. You just have to go out there and get the job done. Spain has done that tonight and the past five matches. They've gotten breaks (Paraguay's missed penalty, Muller missing the semifinals, Robben's misses tonight, etc), but they have made sure that at the end of it all, they've won every knockout match. |

Sports / Re: Taiye Taiwo by yemitide(m): 9:49am On Jan 13, 2010 |
I am surprised that many people are just realizing Taiwo's defensive frailties. When we went out of the 2008 ACN against Ghana, wasn't Taiwo the defender that was ballwatching while Agogo was scoring? In the 2-2 draw against Tunisia, wasn't Taiwo the defender that was beaten for that second goal? I love watching Taiwo when he goes forward, but his defence is suspect. It might be better to play him on the wing and put someone else with a better defensive mindset as a fullback. Our midfield is largely anonymous and moving Taiwo there could simultaneously help the midfield and the defence. |
