Business / Re: Package Delivery Problems: USPS And NIPOST by yemluck: 10:09pm On Jul 20, 2017
This is the mail she got from USPS

Dear xxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for contacting the United States Postal Service about your First Class Package International Service item to Nigeria, customs label LA*******2US, that hasn't been received as of yet.

I apologize that, First Class Package International Service does not offer tracking and is not refundable. Without a tracking service attached to this class of mail, we are unable to tell you where the item is.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) captures scans at the time of acceptance in the United States. Foreign postal services are not obligated to scan these items, per the Universal Postal Union (UPU). As a result, the United States Postal Service (USPS) cannot provide tracking information for these items beyond the US. Any information made available by the (UPU) Universal Postal Union, is placed on USPS.COM under tracking.

The US Postal Service does not have any control over Customs or the Post Office in Nigeria.

Thank you for the opportunity to address this matter with you.

Sincerely,

Consumer Affairs Associate

are you sure you can call back for an international package?
What I read on their site is that the feature is for domestic package that hasn't been delivered yet. I have the same issue. Mine has been in transit since May 16. I will post the reply they sent to my friend that shipped the package to me below

@nykolaax

Well, it seems like we are in the same shoe. From what have read on here and review from other sites. I'd say it's very unlikely that our package will arrive sooner. The bad news is that, it's very possible for your package to arrive here in Nigeria but since the USPS will never update on their website that the package is in Nigeria then it as good as gone. You know our custom people na... Once they see that code(LS***US) they know already that's it's the first class international package and the USPS will never update that it's already in Nigeria. If your package is valuable, I mean a laptop, phone or any gadget, there's every chance one of there staff there has run away with it but if it's a book or something that's not valuable, then you should have received a call by now.
My advice.. Kindly tell your sister to give them a call at the USPS that she wants her package back, trust me she'll get it back and she can then use other reliable shipping method.

Mine is actually an iPhone 7 Red, which I made $175 available for the shipping but the crazy woman bleeped me up by using cheapest means. So annoying.. I can't wait for 35 days bro, that's no guarantee so she will request that the package be sent back to her. Lemme know of your progress.
All the best bro.

How can people be this myopic with their view of life? The state has been paying half salary for close to two years now and you are talking of beautiful infrastructures. What is the use of a road when workers cannot fuel their cars to make use of the road. If you don't understand what the people in Osun are going through then please keep quiet and keep your opinion to yourself.

Abbeyme:

I was in Osogbo at the weekend via Lagos Ibadan ExpressWay/ Gbogan / OdeOmu. Afterwards to Okuku.

I must say that the Osogbo town is a really nice place to live going by the numerous transformation that has taken place. Beautiful infrastructures and many roads that were dualized and others.

I am pretty sure that this refund would go a long way to further beautify the ancient city

Visa approved today.

I have to confess, it is not the level of preparation or how good you are. It is just favour and the discretion of the VO

Went there with my brother, my documents were all arranged and I joined the queue. I was shaking in the car but I really couldn't tell if it was the AC or an internal fear but on the queue, the fear was gone as I was braced for any eventuality.

Went through all the registration process and then on the queue for the interview, I kept listening to others. I saw those that were declined and those that were given. I noticed one VO was friendly and was giving most people she interviewed. I was praying that I was going to be lucky to be interviewed by her.

A guy was not too far in front of me, he wore crazy jeans, he had long dreadlocks, he had rings in his ears and he wore glasses. He was interviewed by a man, he said he had already been declined a visa before, long story short, his visa was approved. At this point, I told myself, "I am getting mine today".

The guy in front of me was called, he wore a nice suit like a banker, he started out about how he had schooled in UK and is back and wants to further in the US, I was shocked when at the end of his story he was declined and then it came to my turn.

Me: Good morning ma

VO: good morning, pass me your passport and your i-20

VO: what year did you graduate

Me: 2014

VO: have you finished your NYSC

Me: Yes

VO: how many schools did you apply to

Me: 3 (south Dakota SU, Purdue and ...)

VO: why did you pick this

Me: It was recommended to me by my dad when he went for a conference in the US and in addition, I was given an international student waiver worth 7000 dollars (this is not on the I20 by the way)

VO: what do you do presently

Me: I worked at a construction company before but now I work at .......

VO: How many siblings do you have

Me: I have 2 brothers and a sister.

Vo: what does your dad do?

Me: He is an urban and regional planner. He has his own consulting firm and he is grooming me to take over from him

Vo: Do you have any family member or relative in the US

Me: No

Vo: Where will you be staying?

Me: I will be staying at the graduate hall of residence

VO: You can go to the pick up location in 3 days time to pick up your visa

Me: (wow, thank you ma)

I don't know, is it possible for my items to be in Nigeria and the tracking feature not update it cos I don't want to believe that when USPS said an item will use 6 to 10 working days to get to Nigeria that it will then take more than 3 weeks.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I called one number and the person told me that the parcel is already in Nigeria after I gave him the tracking number and he told me I'll have to pay 13500 to get the package.

Could that be true?

This one weak me. looool

gbosaa:
Yes. I had a lot of opportunities to be a bus conductor with Akpuruka united busline, Ekene, Omemgbeoji transport ltd. I even rejected flight attendant jobs with BA, virgin Atlantic, Lufthansa.

I'm presently very happy being a bus conductor in a posh danfo VW bus working the Ajangbadi- mile 2 route. Less stress, more money... cool
