Pls advise, is it necessary for the applicant's spouse too to write IELTS for the Express Entry? Would it boost the applicant's points?

For an intending applicant that has switched jobs from technical in the manufacturing sector (6yrs experience) to Technical sales (1 1/2 yrs experience - currently) which jobs skills would boost the applicant's chances; technical / technical sales? Thanks,

Joe980: Thanks for the detailed info. Guess am wrong with Olayiwola instead of Olanrewaju Street. On being harassed by Oga Police dem; once you are stopped and questioned... nothing stops you from telling them what you have on you and once they check and confirm they are yours, you are free to go without "roger".

The reason why I said so is for peeps who carry other documents (not necessarily for the VAC application)along without a verifiable proof that its theirs (maybe brother's uncle's documents on errand etc). Na wahala oo. It's a daily thing I see occurring along that road anytime I pass by and I pity young lads who unfortunately find themselves in that situation. Bottom line: don't pass there with documents that are not yours and you can't correspond with your ID.

Joe980: From Ikeja/Awolowo way/Under bridge... Board a bus going to Ojota or Oregun then alight at Oregun. Ask anyone around for Olayiwola bus stop(it's some steps away though) or Billings way. There are keke napeps at the junction plying Billings way. Just tell them you are heading to Visa Centre/Submission centre.

Best way if you are from outside Lagos:
Find your way to Ojota, from Ojota take bus to Oregun b/stop. Ask anybody there of UK/ Canadian Visa Office at Olanrewaju street (the street is by Oregun b/stop), you may trek up the street or take Keke N50. Package your documents nicely to avoid being harassed by unscrupulous policemen mid way the road who may do stop & search even for keke sef! and possibly make you to forcibly part with some thousands. The VAC office is just up the Olanrewaju street, off Billingsway.

Fhemmmy:

For a PGD, even if you have a Ph.D degree, it will not affect you, it is a program where they understand that someone wanna brush up with skill or pick up some skill and all that, however, for your own case, it should be ok cos you are already in that field with a degree in it already . . . But i will advice that you ave a good finances together with good purpose of travel as well as great tie to Nigeria cos they could see it as well as you wanna run, though that could be your intention, you cant allow them to know such. . . . Good luck

Thanks Oga Fhemmmy, your advice is well noted. Regards,

As regards asking if you should leave your job...I don't beleive anybody can tell you here. ...you gonna ask God for counsel. ..met people of late who regret leaving naija...so If God backs you up and you have right convictions then go for it but if you are double minded about it...will advise you have a rethink. ...[b]Just wanna advise that you should not state your masters in your application if you are going for another one...na red flag!

Dear All,
Thank God It’s Friday!!
Thank God NL is back.
I’ve been a silent member of this thread. Pls is it still possible to apply for admission for September intake and still meet up with the TRV process/ deadline?
In Durham College, I saw an Advanced Diploma of interest to me (this aligns with my First degree)and is still open for international students for fall 2014. I’ve contacted them and was told to apply but my concern is the short time frame remaining to get the transcript from my uni here and the visa application. Also, I have not prepared/collate my docs for visa application. Next admission is not yet indicated on their website, I guess it’s next September 2015 which is paining me. Pls I need your advise. Thanks.
