Education / Re: Sylvester Oromoni’s Father Challenges Coroner’s Findings, Alleges Cover-up by yewit37486: 10:56am On May 08

I followed the case. No 2 other parents accused the man of such in the past. Maybe it happened in the media story. Also, the 2-year old had only one active parent - a single mother. I have read the details. You should read the man's part of the story too.
God is a God of justice yes. But in this world there is lots of injustice going on that justice will be brought to. Justice can take a minute, a day, years or even centuries. But it will happen. Or you want to tell me that everybody serving a jail term is 100% culpable?
Like I said if he is guilty, let him serve his term.

I read that in the papers when the mother was interviewed, she mentioned they were 3 parents initially bringing forward the case and the two withdrew. And how does her being a single mother have any bearing to the case? I read ALL the details including the man's part and how he told the mother that nothing would happen.
He is a despicable sick human being that is better off in jail.
No one is debating that injustice exists, however in this case the evidence was strongly against him, so calling his conviction an injustice is itself an injustice.

The chrisland case of the 2-year old girl is a very dicey case. The teacher, a 47-year old man at that time has been sentenced to decades imprisonment. The man's life has been destroyed based on an accusation which may be true or untrue. I don't know but I dont see how a father of 2 girls will sexually abuse a 2 year old girl. If he's guilty let him serve his term and if innocent, let him be exonerated.
As for the Dowen college case, it is good that the lives of those 4 boys were not destroyed too. We have to be 💯 sure before making a strong accusation of murder and poisoning on Teenagers.
At this time, i think it is time to hand the case over to God.
May we never be falsely accused, the Nigerian system and social media will find you guilty.

In this same world and country where fathers molest their own children. There are people who are MENTALLY sick although they appear normal on the surface.

Read through the details of the Chrisland case and then ask yourself how all that could be false accusation. Mind you, 2 other parents had accused this man in the past but it was silenced. Secondly, why did the school ask the parents of the 2 year old "what they can do to end the case"? I can go on and on, all I will say is please read the details.
God is not a God of injustice and when we refuse to seek justice when we can, it is actually an act of injustice.

They will ignore the message and start attacking the messenger. Typical.

PBAT needs to watch it, he is turning himself to a Pharaoh, tightening the noose even further and further with his extremely harsh policies. Pharaohs hardly ever end well when people cry out to God under serious afflictions. Abacha is one example.

Sad

I certainly don't trust these "rich" schools. They are out to protect their reputation at any cost. That was how Chrisland hired a SAN to defend the teacher who sexually molested a 2 year old.

Any parent covering up for their child when they do wrong will eventually be consumed by the greater evil that child will commit in future. It's a question of time.

Could there be tribal connotations we are missing?

I can imagine how many pages this thread would have been on had it been the 2 champion fighters on nairaland - Igbos and Yorubas - were the individuals involved.

I don't think it's tribal connotations though, just a family who thinks they are all that.

Angelfrost:
Good points he made there.

His son should have done better, and reached out to his father... It might be they are not that close.

Still, a public disclaimer was unnecessary and a step too far.

Your son is more than an adult at 30... He has every right to decide what he wants at this point.

Money or no money, parents should know the limits of their influence once their children pass the age of consent.

Yep. It's very high handed and totally unnecessary. It speaks volumes about the family tbh.

So which other prove do you need that it is truly not a DSS officer. I don't understand . Do you guys just choose to show temerity in your stupidity.

Enough of all this negativity. It's in the interest of every citizen to wish their country well and not be perpetually digging up negative news. The other pro-govt side too are no better, all they do is dish up propaganda and defend everything no matter what. No objectivity or balance from either side. You both should go and settle yourselves and let others focus on the true progress of this country.

If the manager of the station knew they were coming...then he knows the shooter. Simple as that. Police investigation should not be hard...if they truly are interested in bringing them to pay for this hideous crime.

Exactly. And why didn't the station staff inform those on the queue about this priority placement? Something a simple communication could have addressed resulted in this needless death. May the soul of the young man rest in peace.

Litmus:
Positive Nigeria content used to be Tayo Aina's bread and butter untill he discovered the power of portraying Nigeria negatively. Nigeria still feeds him but from the de-marketing of Nigeria perspective. If you're a Nigerian or black person, there is an entire world of Africans out there waiting to embrace, love and support you if you specialise in disrespecting and insulting Nigeria. This is however gradually changing as Nigeria slowly surmounts all the pushback and obstacles that comes from being a dynamic black nation on a planet that very much fights this.

Tayo has a superficially likable quality. He reminds me of those individuals that you get to really like but in time you begin to see that they lack the debt of character worthy of investment. The type that wouldn't be reliable friends when you most need them.

Yeah, ignore the message and attack the messenger. Classic.

Most of them justifying this do not have one kobo to rub together, no serious minded person will fail to see the danger in the precedent this action is setting and the impact on future investors.
