slimfit1:Dude, I'm purely against him having 12 brand new cars.. 5 BP for that matter About my last statement, what I'm saying is that the DSS should have done a deeper investigation... Atleast they shouldn't have realeased a press statement just yet till they have ENOUGH incriminating evidence against him, else this would be seen as a political witch hunt by the PDP. |

By Soni Daniel Abuja New Service Chiefs who were named by President Muhammadu Buhari last Monday are set to assume office today, according to sources close to the military hierarchy in Abuja. The new service chiefs who were appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, are, Chief of Defence Staff, Maj.Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin; Chief of Army Staff, Maj.Gen. T.Y. Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar; and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan. It is the tradition of the military for all the service chiefs and the Chief of Defence Staff to take over the same day. A top military source told out correspondent that the men of the Armed Forces were involved in a drill rehearsal in preparation for today’s change of guard. The exercises held at the Defence Headquarters, the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. The source said that even though, such exercises were observed in one of the services, it was his belief that all the exercises were involved in similar preparations. The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sami Usman confirmed the handing over of the service chiefs in a late evening text message on Wednesday. He said that the outgoing Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, would hand over to his successor, Maj. Gen. Yukur Buratai, by 11am on Thursday. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has listed steps state governments must take to avoid economic crisis, requiring Federal Government’s intervention again. A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, on Wednesday quoted Osinbajo as giving the ways out during an interactive session he held with Nigerians based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Vice President said the state governments must do more to increase internally generated revenue. He also urged them to put workers salaries in the first line charge in their expenditure. Besides, he stated the need for states to clean up their payrolls to ensure that ghost workers were eliminated. Another plan he disclosed is to ensure that all state governments have a vibrant Debt Management Office, while ensuring a general atmosphere of transparency and accountability in their public expenditures. Osinbajo told the gathering that a new Nigeria was emerging, which would require the commitment of all Nigerians. He said, “There is so much hope and expectations. A new Nigeria is happening, we are going to see a new Nigeria. “The reason why I am so convinced is because everyone of us, one way or the other, believe that there should be a change. “I am not saying those who voted for President Muhammadu Buhari and myself only, even if it was the other government, everyone of us expected some kind of change.” Osinbajo said Nigeria deserved the best and did not deserve what it had got for so many years. http://www.punchng.com/news/how-states-can-avoid-economic-crisis-osinbajo/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Cc ishilove |
Claims that President Buhari made anti-Igbo comments during an interview on the BBC Hausa Service are lies, according to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu. by Sahara Reporters, New YorkJul 15, 2015 Pres. Muhammadu BuhariTolu Jinadu Claims that President Buhari made anti-Igbo comments during an interview on the BBC Hausa Service are lies, according to a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu. The recent accusations were made on the pirate radio station Radio Biafra, which was supposedly shut down by the Nigerian government two days ago. However, the latest reports say that the radio station continues to broadcast in the southern part of Nigeria. According to the statement Radio Biafra’s broadcast was “completely false, malicious, and slanderous.” The statement added that, “the voice being ascribed to President Buhari in the recording repeatedly played back by the pirate radio station is definitely not the President's and the claim that the station got the recording from a BBC interview is totally untrue.” According to Mr. Shehu, “The BBC Hausa Service Editor, Mr. Mansor Liman has distanced the BBC from the false interview clip being ascribed by the pirate radio station to President Buhari.” The full statement can be read below: STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE CLAIM THAT PRESIDENT BUHARI EXPRESSED ANTI-IGBO SENTIMENTS IN BBC INTERVIEW COMPLETELY FALSE AND MALICIOUS The claim by a pirate radio station that President Muhammadu Buhari expressed anti-Igbo sentiments in a recent interview with the BBC Hausa Service is completely false, malicious and slanderous. The voice being ascribed to President Buhari in the recording repeatedly played back by the pirate radio station is definitely not the President's and the claim that the station got the recording from a BBC interview is totally untrue. No one should be deceived by the pirate radio station's hate propaganda against the President. President Buhari has not had any interview with the BBC's Hausa Service since his assumption of office as alleged by the agents of disunity behind the pirate radio station's inflammatory and divisive broadcasts. The last interview he had with the BBC Hausa Service, lasting not more than five minutes, was on the day he was declared winner and given his certificate of return as President-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Thankfully, the BBC Hausa Service Editor, Mr. Mansor Liman has distanced the BBC from the false interview clip being ascribed by the pirate radio station to President Buhari. President Buhari is the President of all Nigerians and will continue to treat all citizens on the basis of fairness, equality and equity. Nigerians should therefore ignore all propaganda designed to sow seeds of discord among them and promote a separatist agenda against national unity, solidarity and progress. I don't really care.. As long as they return ALL the "monies" they took. |
So who deserves the credit now? GEJ or PMB? |
I don't think PDP are getting anything. by giving PDP slots, it means the pro-saraki group will be left with little or nothing |
Ok |
Loyalists of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday allayed the fears of the All Progressives Congress caucus in the senate over the ammendments made to the Senate Rules 2015, which provide for the spread of chairmanship and membership of standing committees across the six geopolitical zones irrespective of their political party affiliation.http://www.punchng.com/news/parties-wont-share-senate-committees-equally-saraki-group/ Cc lalasticlala ishilove |

A federal court in Abuja has granted former Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, and his two sons, bail. They are to be released from prison once the bail conditions are met. Mr. Lamido and his sons are facing money laundering charges, brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. They were arraigned last week in Kano, and were later remanded pending their bail application hearing on September 28. The Lamidos were however transferred secretly to Kuje prison in Abuja on Monday, ahead of a hearing Tuesday, after another judge was assigned to consider the bail application. Details later. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/186644-breaking-court-grants-ex-gov-lamido-sons-bail.html
