with d level of unemployment in dis country, ur idea is not good. to reduce d price of commodities, d greed of nigerians must be controlled using proper public policies(ppp), d problem is greed, not middlemen. if ur idea is to be implemented, it wil only favour d rich, bcoz they av d capacity to modify dis ur idea and ensure that d average nigerian cant even operate as a "corporate middleman". during d electioneering campaign, osibanjo said govt wil regulate price of cassava, garri, rice, beans, maize via a national commodity price board....

pls lets leave the government out of this. Looking at it critically, this move aims at cutting food wastage, and making food evenly distributed. No farmer will travel all the way to lagos to sell 10 basket of tomatoes, instead of waiting for d middle man that will circle round more than three states to make sure he overload his vehicle, just signal d company, and they are ready to buy. Because you are not d only one they are buying from and they don't deal in only one produce, they can easily reach a point where they are ready to travel with truckload of different produce increasing circulation and crumbing wastage, then giving farmers value for their work (else the farmers will be at the local market, begging marketers to help them unless they'll incure total loss).

Not that we are really throwing the middle men out but d company will also act lyk both d middle man and the wholeseller, cutting d link short, thereby reducing the price of products.

Lyk some countries that have fish market, every registered fisherman can fish, and sell d fishes to companies that run d market. Those companies make sure products are available at constant price throughout the season at any of their outlet

I'm in d middle of a search about how we could use social media to connect farmers and keep track of their next harvest date, so instead of middlemen comming in at their own will and buying produce at prices that favour themselves alone, farmers can have a legit company (just like the seafood company in other country) that will collect the produce and sell them directly to retailers and consumers.

1- This distribution/marketing company will have all nessary document and won't incure additional cost to transport produce anywhere across the country

2-The company will have its own mall in all states. D mall will only sell fresh farm produce, (at cheaper rates because their goods is directly from farm)

3- whenever a farmer is expecting harvest, he post d date online so whenever d company come around (weekly or bi-monthly), they'll collect his produce, it'll also save the farmer from much Post-Harvest preservation

You wanna design websites and you dont want to code.
Just lyk saying i want to be a barber but i dont want to hold clipper. Or i want to be a tailor and i dont wanna use machine. Though its possible but it sound crazy. Pls lets open our brothers to reality. In other countries, 14yrs guys create awesome apps. We are always looking for the easy way and end up as bloggers after wasting alot of valuable time (trust blogs and their restrictions).
If you wanna design website and u dont want to code, just find another career path cos web design is not for you.

Yes programming can be done on phone, there is qpython for python(Android) and many html editor where you can write javascript nd Csc code. But Serious programming cannot be done on phone.
Most of these phone programming is built for mini programs and testing of scripts. Regardless, how long will it take to write just 200 lines of code on phone compared to system.
Most External packages that may be useful for you have only the system version. So i'll recomend you to get a good system to be able to enjoy full programming.

Algorithm is the step by step process for acomplishing the task pseudo code is gotten from d algorithm but there are slight difference.
Algorithm is written in any understandable language and it can be as detailed as you want it to be but pseudo code is written to resemble programming languages and must carry all d details you should write in ur program.

you want to build a garden.
D Algorithm:
clear the land, buy flowers, transplant d flowers and look after it.
D pseudo code:
if land is clear, continue, else, clear d land first. Then buy flowers, when flower is mature for transplanting, transplant. Or wait for it to mature. Look after transplanted flowers, if it has disease, uproot it. If it lack water, wet.

Notice the difference btw those two examples. D algorithm can also be as detailed as u want it to be. When programming the better your algorithm, the easier it will be to convert it to pseudo (false) code. Or to any programming language

My own question. Farmers that produce Cashew in large quantity in nigeria, what do dey use the fruit for?

i dont know why pple take delight in greedily inflating prices of local commodities, we discourage foreign buyers to go buy from other african countries, its wrong and its greed that makes dealers sell commodities in d local market using international price. The govt shuld establish an agency that will regulate d prices of agro products. The greed of we... nigerians is the bane of nigeria's progress.

i think this market follow normal economics. Just like oil, the producers are few compared to the consumers and d price is being controlled by demand and supply.
If much Cashew is in circulation, d price will fall and vice versa.

Mind you international commodities dont need price regulation because before the government can regulate price of a commodity. The government price should either benefit both the buyer and d seller (else they are ready to loose valuable tax payer(d company)) or they will be willing to subsidise such commodity (i.e paying part of d price so d buyers will pay just a fraction of it).

Hello House, I have been studying this business recently. Something baffles me though? Why are you all so focused on selling unprocessed cashew nuts to India and Vietnam, who process and the sell to US and EU? What am I missing in the logic that does not favour processing to meet EU and US standards?

I have also been studying the business though i'm not yet a farmer. Cashew processing is not an easy job expecially If you are processing for commercial purpose. D case contain some harsh acid which can spoil d nut if processed unprofessionally. Though there are machines that process these nut but which of nigerian farmers can afford it. Even india export their Cashew unprocessed. I think Brazil are doing well in processing.
It will generate more money if farmers can come together to set up Cashew processing plants. But where is the electricity to run it? (will they loose all their gain on powering d plant? abi d market will pay for their losses? ).
