arimahoseloka: have in mind to work wit a vet and buy lots of food

Health / Re: Whats The Difference Between A Patent Medicine Store, A Medicine Store, pharmacy by yinkavelli(m): 6:57pm On May 16, 2013
Revsola: Young man,we are men of honour and no one will abuse you.A patent medicine store is an outlet for Over The Counter(OTC) drugs(medicines sold directly to a consumer without a prescription from any healthcare professional)...while a Pharmacy is an outlet for all drugs(prescription and non prescription drugs).
The umbrella association for pharmacists is PSN(Pharmacists' Society of Nigeria) while the regulatory body for pharmaceutical practice is Pharmacy Council Of Nigeria(PCN) formerly Pharmacy Board Of Nigeria

nicely said sir/ma...but i must be frank not all are as u have said. witnessed some dirty ones myself, buts that's a story for another day.
Pets / Dog Breeding Business Newbie..what I Should Know by yinkavelli(m): 12:11am On May 15, 2013
I'm what you call a omnivorous entrepreneur, and very open minded too as well as eager to learn, i am also profit oriented. that is why i intend to use my love for dogs to start a business of breeding them and then making a profit from sales of pups etc. i intend starting with pedigree dogs like rots and mastiffs. i would really appreciate it if the dog lovers and breeders of nairaland can kindly put me through in things they think i should know before i begin to invest coin, cilver and gold into this business. thanks and God bless.

Agriculture / Re: Which Is Profitable Between Poultry And Piggery Farming? by yinkavelli(m): 11:22pm On May 14, 2013
ayodele123: Both are profitable

A layer chicken will lay an egg in 24-36hours i.e an egg a day or 2 eggs in 3 days and can lay consistently for at least 15 months before diminishing returns set in. Normally, laying continues up to 18 months but at a diminishing rate after 12-15 months.
At the end of the laying period, you will sell the chicken as an old layer for about N700.00 in Lagos around Christmas.
So if you have 500 healthy layers, you will get about 13-14 crates daily from about 22 weeks - 72 weeks.
The challenge in the business is the ability to maintain a disease free and consistently healthy flock throughout the laying period. A lot goes into this goal to make it a reality.

Piggery is also very profitable.
A female pig can produce piglets twice a year and in each pregnancy cycle can deliver 6-12 piglets.
If you have 10 female pigs on your farm and they are healthy,by the end of 12-18 months, you are in money

Whichever you wish to start, the choice is yours.
However, they are risky. Dont just look at the profitability.
Don't jump into any without thorough training and guidance.
Get details from www.johnayodele.

sounds soo good on paper, but not in reality. well i must say ur analysis are all on point and it takes a lot of experience, i would go for the poultry because i have a bit of experience in it. buttttt.....here are the major challenges. 1. price of eggs hardly increase but feed prices soar astronomically. (dont forget transpotation of the feed, and saw dust/wood scrapping 2. their waste..how do u dispose of it? especially on a 500birds scale u do behind ur house with 2plots of land ..in a residential area, a farm u just use for subsistence. 3. market-ting of eggs and old layers...u say 700, people will say 500. 4. disease and pest, like cats, snakes and rats. please reply this. you will be doing me an invaluable assistance. thanks

Health / Whats The Difference Between A Patent Medicine Store, A Medicine Store, pharmacy by yinkavelli(m): 11:04pm On May 14, 2013
whats the difference between a patent medicine store, a medicine store, a pharmacy, a pharmacy whole sale store , a drug store and a pharmaceutical store. i throw this out to all the pharmacists on nairaland. especially to members of PAN OR PCN don't know what they call themselves, pharmaceutical association or commission....there is virtually no regulation nor structure in this sector, all they focus on is money, the health and lives of the people is just secondary. almost all of them have more than 2pharmacy stores thereby contradicting their own laws and then victimize others that are not even under their association. and for those that want to go into the drug industry there is virtually no body to get information on how to go about things with. such a pity that a country can be sick physiologically and ideologically as well as economically> God bless Nigeria. pharmacist comment. lash out at me,albeit reasonably and rationally.

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by yinkavelli(m): 2:28pm On Apr 19, 2013
hello lovely people of nairaland, i am very concerned about a Canadian immigration website i visited 6months ago in regards to getting a work visa there....this is the site w w w . c a n a d a v i s a e x p e r t. c o m tho i applied a long time ago, i had forgotten about it when all of a sudden they just started bombarding me with calls this past week, asking me questions ranging from my educational, work back ground and how much i earn presently. i tot all was well until it got to a point when they stared to ask me for my MasterCard details, for an assessment fee of more than $600 which they said will be deducted from my atm. anytime the funds gets there. i don't mean to sound paranoid but it sounded dodgy to me, i guess this is maybe asper sharp naija boy. well, i asked my bank to block my ATM till i can ascertain the authenticity of this company or website...please nairalanders, i need your comments flowing in as reasonable, rational and responsible also helpful comments about them will be immeasurably appreciated. God bless the works of our hands, and may our good dreams come true. Yinkavelli undecided
Business / Re: Waste Disposal Business by yinkavelli(m): 9:11am On Oct 11, 2012
knowledge4: @yinkavelli,
If you are willing to work hard,be focussed and patient to see results, you can do good business with the N20k you have if you wont look down on some jobs as too menial. Business is about organizing and mobilizing resources(men, materials and money) to provide solutions.
Scan your environment.there are problems that need solution.Business is about solving problems through solutions

One idea to do with N20k in your Igando environ is House Cleaning Services
Many working class  people are too busy to clean their homes and househelps are rare in the present day.
They need part-time cleaners who will help wash their toilets, sweep the compound and wash in-house gutters, cut grass, trim flowers and the like.
Print biz cards.200 copies is about N2500.00. Package yourself as a Professional Cleaning agency. Dress well like a banker and go introducing yourself to them as a Professional  House Cleaner and tell them what you can do. Focus on buildings like flats where the elites live in. However dont rule out 'face-me-i-face-you apartments.
Charge low for a start maybe N3500.00 monthly and agree once weekly cleaning with them. Get about 50 clients in an area.

Then look for unemployed young boys and girls and jobless housewives in the area who have nothing doing. Attach one person to 5 houses to clean. Pay them N2500.00 per house and your own profit is N1000 per house. Use the N20k as working capital to buy brooms and buckets and detergent and the like for cleaning.Dress your staff in overalls. Supervise them to ensure they are at their duty posts on work days.
Earning N1k per house from 50 clients will fetch you N50k monthly. This is much better than retailing recharge cards. The profit on N20k worth of recharge cards is N700.00 and you cannot sell N20k worth daily because the competition is too stiff.
Think about this idea and modify it.
Wish you the best.

@knowledge, sir,
May God continue to broaden your horizon.
I want to lift off on this project(profitable and very realistic), but will need your help in terms of guidiance and advice sir.
Here are a few challenges I have envisioned, pls help with your opinions.
1. Neglegence on part of my staff
2. Risk of being set up by wicked clients in terms of fraudulent acusations of theft, cheating inefficiency and other vices.
3. Who pays for transporting my workers to the diffrent locatioons of work.
4. Varying sizes of houses and appartments in relation to billings.
5. What will be the charging and billing system
6. Security
7. Who is liable when my staff sustains harm/injury as a result or whilst on duty. Who bares the burden/brunt
8. What sysytem can I use to be able to supervise 10people at the same time even if I put the working days on Fridays/saturdays/sundays
9. What would I have to do in terms of government registrations and labour union laws.
10.What system can I apply to guarantee loyalty and consistence on the part of my staff.

Sir, your guidiance would be a monumental priviledge, as I know I can never rapay you. Only God can and will. Thanks for your help in anticipation.
