After my Laptop HDD crashed, I removed it and I put new one. I transfered my files to the new HDD but those files refuse to open. The O.S. that came with my Laptop is windows 7 home premium x64bit, the new O.S. is windows 7 Ultimate x32bits. Please help me ,what can I do to solve this problem.

There is a bit mismatch in this case. You’ll have to backup your device s HDD and reinstall the OS.

I’m suspecting you have a damaged charging port that need to be replaced.

After it displayed the error about the boot file, the laptop has been able to boot but it is still not working properly. I have tried to reinstall the OS but the laptop has gotten worse this last few days. When I try to boot from CD, after some few seconds the screen will just freeze so I have to switch it off. Maybe I should try a new RAM

Pls try that let’s see how it plays out

There was a time it displayed an error saying bootmgr is corrupted. Other errors I could be remember that was shown are;
1. Memory management error
2. Driver irql not less or equal
3. Page management error and so on.
Another thing I noticed is that the cd drive indicator light usually blinks too and it makes some sounds too.
What do you think I should do

There are 2 fundamental issues which are: missing or corrupt boot mgr which is responsible for booting your PC and then memory or RAM issue. We have to solve the boot mgr issue first which might result in reloading your OS after which we’ll see if it has corrected he RAM issue...

Well, if you have a win 8 OS cd, you can play with it until you get it, you’ll see the options when you insert the Cd and navigate through the options. If you don’t and you can’t do it yourself, then we might have to meet somewhere so I can do it for you.

My laptop has been giving me serious headache for the past few weeks. I was using it when the screen just suddenly went black, but the led indicators(that shows that the laptop is still on) were still on and it was just blinking intermittently. I removed the battery, reinserted it back and I tried to switch it on again but still the same thing.
Then I left it till the following day, switched it on, then it just displayed the "Blue screen of death", the laptop restarts and write one error which I have tried to get more information about online but because the errors are just too much, I don't even know what to search for again.
Then I tried to reinstall windows but when I switch on the laptop now, the screen will just display several colors, freeze and then restart again. I have tried to search for information online but I have not gotten anything useful so far.
Please what should I do

I’m sorry about your laptop. Anything could be the issue ranging from overheating due to cpu fan problem to RAM issues or even the boot manager. However, the best solution can be derived from careful observations and error codes. Pls try observe carefully any sound, strange behaviors and error codes as these will help with effective diagnosis.

It fell, some months back and that part got pressed in and broke... But since then charging has been fine,though I became more careful when inserting the charger.

Something like dat. I've tried my tips to solve the problem but nothing is working.

It’s not always a case of firewall that’s a mundane answer your regular PC troubleshooter will give you. Try these first;

Use someone else’s hotspot or modem and see what happens.
Try removing and rejoining your hotspot from the PC ( I mean your hotspot s password) and see the result.
Try checking with your wireless connection if it’s coming on or not.

If it doesn’t work after these, the n PM me.

My HP 15 Windows 10 laptop just started this issue of "plugged in, not charging" and it's been so annoying. I have tried uninstalling the battery drivers, no change. Pls what else can I do, by the way, I noticed a plastic burning smell coming from the charging port some days back but I thought it was due to the broken plastic around the charging port....

PLs how did the plastic around the charging port break? That might help in resolving this issue. Also, I’m suspecting that a power surge might have occurred and damaged your charging port. In case you can’t answer these questions, just send me a PM so we can work on this issue together.

You’re right, it’s an OS issue. The boot manager after performing the POST was unable to load the OS which is corrupt. However, the good news is that unlike win 7, win 8 can be reloaded and you will not loose anything if you do it right. I will however advice you to back up your files before embarking on this. Since there is a way you navigate to your files (through safe mode I guess), you should still be able to backup your files somehow.

When you delete it goes to your recycle bin in case you need it later,if you want to delete it permanently go to recycle bin and delete permanently then you will see the space you're looking for.

How could I have forgotten this simple procedure? You can also try this and let’s see what happens. However, subsequently to permanently delete files from your PC, use the combination of ‘shift-delete’

My windows 7 hp laptop is refusing to increase the system storage no Matter how many files i delete but when i insert a file in it, the storage capacity decrease.. For instance, the storage capacity was 55Gb free of 175Gb, Then I deleted movies that contained about 10Gb and went back to check but it was still like that.
Pls what could be the cause?

In order to avoid unexpected data loss issue while freeing up space on your devices, please backup important data or remove saved files to other spot first.

First option is to run partition manager freeware to free up space on USB/SD/hard drive
Professional partition manager freeware - EaseUS Partition Master Free supports you to effectively free up space on Windows hard drive, partition or external storage devices with two reliable options. You may try either option to free.

Second option is to Use DiskPart to clean disk and free up space
1. Right-click Start button and select Command Prompt;
2. Type:diskpart in Command Prompt and hit Enter;

3. Type: list disk and hit Enter;

4. Type: select disk 2 and hit Enter; (Replace 2 with the disk number of your device.)

5. Type: clean and hit Enter;

Wait for the process complete till the message 'DiskPart succeeded in cleaning the disk' popped up.
Type: exit and hit Enter to close DiskPart.

Not all earphones are compatible with laptops. Headphones or earphones have additional pins for microphone. This is due to the fact that earphone makers manufacture their product for their brand which might not work for any other. I’ll advice you to either locate your laptop manufacturer and get earphones specifically made for that brand or to be on a safer side, use headphones which are more durable. Pls let me know if this answer works for you. Thank you.
