Land grabbing has evolved into a serious and deeply troubling challenge in our society, particularly in Rivers State. What was once an occasional dispute over property has now grown into a coordinated and persistent threat, gaining dangerous momentum and affecting legitimate real estate operations.

Members of civil associations and industry stakeholders have made consistent efforts to confront and resist the activities of land grabbers, especially those targeting credible real estate companies. Unfortunately, this resistance has not come without consequences. Leaders within these organizations individuals committed to transparency and lawful practices are increasingly becoming targets of harassment, intimidation, and cyberbullying.

A recent and concerning example is the attack on the Secretary of the Real Estate Development Association in Rivers State. This individual, alongside his company, Capital City Development Limited, has been at the forefront of advocating against fraudulent land practices and exposing the activities of land grabbers. Over the years, the company has built a reputation rooted in integrity, professionalism, and trust. Their projects span across the country, delivering verified properties, creating employment opportunities, and contributing meaningfully to community development.

Despite these contributions, there has been a disturbing rise in coordinated attempts to discredit such credible organizations. Land grabbers, threatened by transparency and accountability, are resorting to misinformation and digital harassment in an effort to undermine legitimate businesses in Port Harcourt and beyond.

While there have been some interventions from local authorities, including engagement from local government leadership, it is evident that more decisive and sustained action is required. Addressing land grabbing in Rivers State demands stronger enforcement mechanisms, clearer land ownership regulations, and firm legal consequences for offenders.

The goal must be to create an environment where fraudulent land practices are no longer tolerated or profitable. Rivers State deserves a real estate sector built on trust, legality, and sustainable development. Protecting reputable companies and industry leaders is not just necessary it is essential for economic growth, investor confidence, and community stability.

It is time for all stakeholders government, industry bodies, and the public to stand firmly against land grabbing and support those who are committed to doing things the right way.

I am writing this letter specially to bring your attention to the plight of the Open Art team, and the little challenge that the Open Art team has encountered following the promise you made last year.

Your Excellency, During your encounter with the Open Art team at the maiden edition of Open Art with Benny Odumu, at the Bayelsa Tech Hub, in 2021, where you acknowledged and commended our vision of empowering youths with the right skills and productively engaging them through tech. And that you were willing to assist us, and see to it that the vision reaches every Bayelsan. And this the Open Art team worked with and presented a bigger project that will include the entire Bayelsa State. Infact, you gave them your word and asked that they seek approval duely. And through the office of the Commissioner for Science and Technology, we submitted a project proposal with the estimated reach and project objectives.

The only problem is that after a year, you never appended your signature on the proposal or better still, it got lost in bureaucratic mail. Now we understand that there is a slush pile of projects initiated by young people to bring about a change that keep getting lost in thesame process, and we know that His Excellency is a very observant and watchful administrator, who wants only the best for Bayelsans and would not stop at anything to positively promote and project the youth population and by extension the entire Bayelsa State, so I am without doubt that you will look into this issue.

We are by this calling on the Governor and appealing to you, to please append your signature on what will be a history making project that will impact on the young population in Bayelsa State.

I hope that this reaches you at a good time and that Our appeal is speedily looked into.

Joka, apart from music is a tattoo artist, who drew tattoos for most A list port Harcourt Entertainers years back before his arrest in 2017.

Excel Naabe (Joka) According to media reports in March 29th 2017 was arrested by SARS alongside two other suspects linked to the alleged killing of a delivery man with an online marketing store, Jumia.

Mr. Chukwuma Eleje (Ridder) , was reported to have been killed in a house on Ada George Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The victim was said to be delivering two iPhones to some customers, who had ordered for them through the Internet, when he was attacked and killed.

The suspects were reported to have dumped his remains in a septic tank in a desperate attempt to cover up the crime.

Though Joka Pleaded Not Guilty When They were arranged before court, saying that he only visited the house to draw tattoos for the young man who had contacted him, before the police caught up with them that day.

It's Been 4 years of adjoinments, and Joka is still hopefull that he'll regain his freedom by the next final sitting sometime in February this year.
According to sources, Joka has kept his hopes alive as he penned down every experience Over the years and he's ready to release an Album to tell his story if he's set free by February.

Kingville whose birthday was on the 9th of September hosted DCartel to a wonderful dinner party after he took them on an industrial tour around the Alien Prose Entertainment Plaza.

Port Harcourt Based Pilot and CEO of decent digital technologies Chief Daniel Okwara in a viral video launched attack against the governments decision to demolish major business roads in the Capital city of Nigeria, Abuja amidst the hardship brought on Nigerians due to the corona virus pandemic. According to Daniel Okwara, he said it is inhuman for the state and federal government to forcefully eject shop owners in this pandemic season, considering the economy of individuals and the nation at large.

Bayelsa born socialist and founder of the Alinarichman Foundation over the week distributed over 1000 bags of 10kg palliatives (Rice, Garri, Oil, and Noodles) to widows across Nigeria in other to assist the less privileged widow’s scale through the hunger season that has come due to the corona virus outbreak across the globe.

Ambassador Helen Richman while speaking to the media at the official launch of the foundation in Bayelsa State, said it has also been her dreams to support the less privileged in the society following her late father’s wish.

The distribution of the palliatives was done in Bayelsa State and some parts of Rivers State, this was after she had before time distributed gifts and food stuffs across several orphanage homes in Nigeria.

Note that the Alina Richman Foundation render humanitarian service for social and economic good of the less privileged children, abandoned youths and aged persons in the society and also empower widows with free vocational and skills acquisition centers.
