Why not? as long as it has the required amount with evidence of inflow and outflow.
Thanks for the reply, Chief.

Good day Progressives, pls I’d like to ask a quick question, is the Statement of a domicilary account tenable at the embassy? Thanks.

Hey, keep wallowing in your ignorant....
And for your information, there’s no school as “Texas A&M the Kingston one”
Bros, dem get new branch for Kingston, Jamaica. grin grin
I don’t get why some people choose to be a classic bully, armed with the “I better pass u mentality”.... but in reality they are the most ignorant bunch on planet Earth. Same way she mocked someone’s TOEFL score, Forgetting All Fingers Are Not Equal.

Hey,
I know about the Texas A & M system but I wasn’t familiar with the Kingston one.

The main message I was trying to pass across was that we should shoot higher shots. I just joined nairaland and 80% of the schools people have mentioned on this thread don’t even have any ranking. In other words, these school arent worthy/accredited enough to be ranked. That’s a very big thing. A lot of people here are blinded by the fact that the schools are in the US. They don’t know that there’s no prospect in some of these schools. I’m definitely not saying it must be an Ivy League, but let it be a decent school. Top 1000 in the world should be the minimum threshold.

80%? Goddamn, that’s preposterous, you made some salient points and some utterly bold fallacious Statements.

Albeit, most Prospective Grad Students on this board often get in lowly ranked Schools, mostly Tier 2, Tier3, and some unranked schools , but definitely not according to your lingo the ones not “accredited enough” if you go to the embassy with such you are in for a long ride.

This reminds me of the TV series The Big Bang Theory, where a certain Character, Dr. Sheldon Cooper always ridicule his colleague Howard Wolowitz for having only a Masters degree in Engineering and for attending MIT. The irony is Howard was the only one who made any real contributions to science, as a matter of fact went to the space and worked with Steve Hawking, Sheldon’s Idol. The Genius Theoretical Physicist Sheldon Cooper couldn’t even make any headway with his research in String Theory, with his fancy multiple Ivy League degrees. My point is, it’s what you can make out of your degree that counts in the end.

However, your advice is good, getting into decent schools should be ultimate goal, and if you have a very strong profile shoot for the big boys, the Ivy League, no room for mediocrity, If your profile can only get in Tier 3 schools, don’t beat yourself, be book smart, graduate summa cum laude, horn your skill sets, and finally be street smart, network your way.

Most Schools folks mention here are decent, with exception to Schools like VIU and her co-traveller, and those are not highly prevalent here.

If getting into decent schools is what you really advice then TAMUK should suffice. Enough said.

LOL!
I thought Lamar was the name of Khloe Kardashians ex-husband. Then "Tamuk" sounds like a place in Edo state. Didnt know they were schools in the U.S.
Guys, I think we shouldn't just be focusing on getting out of the country. I think we should do it strategically. Think about your employability after the program. There are many of the schools that have been mentioned here that's worse that Unilag, so whats the point of spending ticket and tuition money and going to all these dead schools?

Ma, because you clearly do not have any knowledge whatsoever about schools in the Texas A&M System, does not make TAMUK a dead school. Rankings count to a certain extent but in the Engineering and IT world, inasmuch your school is ranked and accredited, no disrespect to VIU, it’s what you can make out of your degree (Your Skill Sets) that matters.

From that same TAMUK I know a couple of Engineering Grad Students who got Summer Internship Positions with IBM, Intels, Cummins etc. LinkedIn is your friend.

All these mediocre Schools in Nigeria like Unilag do not even rank among the top 6000 tertiary institutions in the world, they can’t even compete with some schools in Kenya. Shalom.

Good day y’all, I have been admitted to a number of schools, though none of them offered full funding, but some of them offered tuition waivers to a reasonable percentage.

Now my question is, can I obtain my I-20 from lets say 2 of these schools just to compare the final cost stipulated in them or I’m only entitled to one I-20 from one school at a time?

Thanks.

Education / Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by YoungTesla: 9:01am On Mar 08, 2018
The Op is talking about the injustice meted to Corp member Engineers, that’s child’s play compared to what Engineers face in the Nigerian Society.

Let me tell you my experience, I was shortlisted as ASP Specialist Engineer in the 2016 NPF recruitment, till date we have not been called for training, why? According to them they Said Engineers are not needed, they opined we don’t do anything.

Normally after training Engineers pass out as ASPs, Medical Doctors and even Ventinery Doctors Passed out last year with the Rank of SP, that’s like a major in the Army, a rank that may take 12-15 years to attain if you start as an ASP on probation.

You can’t blame the Doctors and the NMA, and don’t compare the two revered profession it make your argument sound salty, Blame the useless NSE, who do nothing than to collect dues and organize shitty seminars and workshops.

Sorry bro. I'm sure it's not a B.Y Mafit thing though. Dates are dicey as it can be available one minute and not the next. I'm sure the dates were closed temporarily and they must have been waiting to see if it would re-open.

I think TOEFL should be made to be like IELTS where you can see the seat availability and make choices based on that.

There are way too many satisfied customers that I personally know of and I'm sure they put in their best as well.

Wish you the best.

Everything is fine now.

@youngTesla

We need to be careful what we post and even when things may not be going the way we planned It, we still need to watch our utterances. Telling people to boycott Mafit cos you missed out on your date which is not even in the control of anyone except TOEFL themselves isn't good at all.

I personally registered with them and I'm taking lectures at the moment. I know of a couple of people who registered with them between 15th and now and they are all cool.

Contact their customer service and work things out maybe they give you an available center and if it's not cool by you, you could get your money back but there is no reason why they won't register you if the date is available. They've got no issues as far as I know.
Everything has been sorted out. Everybody is happy.

Did you apply by yourself?
Did you take tests?
How did you discover them?
I thought as much too.......that school is in top 50.
