cktheluckyman: Faleke formally wrote to INEC to withdraw his deputy Governorship candidate to Bello!! As far as the law is concerned Bello had no deputy And INEC told him to write tru his party that, only d party has d right to remove and replace a candidate and not d individual. the law recognises Him (Faleke) as the deputy, cos he has not been withdrawn by his party, probably because he hasn't written tru his party |

Koolmexxi: From what I hear PDP may end up winning at the tribunal. Don't know if the APC eventually decided on a running mate for the Bello guy. Apart from involving in anti party activities simply becos he lost out to Audu at the primaries, he even didn't cast a ballot during the main election. His case is dat of monkey work, baboon com chop. Bros, u can lie o. You guys are just making cheap propoganda.......There hasn't been any proof he did all u said above. why do u chose to believe in lies. Only a valid evidence would make me believe. |

cktheluckyman: Oga who is your deputy in today"s supplementary poll? This would be a very easy case to decide at the courts.Better start preparing for another election in few months to come Mumu dey smell, u think they are dat dumb?, INEC recognises faleke as his deputy so far. he (FALEKE) wrote letter to INEC directly that he is no running mate to Bello, INEC told him that only the party has d right to inform them of such that he should write through the party which he belongs buh he hasn't done dat till now. |
Politics › Re: Kogi: Court Gives INEC Permission To Continue Election by youngwarlocks: 3:56pm On Dec 04, 2015 |
Eruditor: Wrong. The court only said they had no jurisdiction to instruct INEC on what to do. Only the tribunal, Appeal court and Supreme Court can, following the proceedings.
1. Even though your point 1 is plausible and fair it is inappropriate for the time because the doctrine of necessity should have been implemented instead of wasting tax-payer's money to conduct UNNECESSARY supplementary elections.
2. Absolutely flawed. GEJ didn't participate in primary elections in 2007 but was sworn in as the president. Audu being alive or dead right now is immaterial. What role would he have played leading to the supplementary elections? INEC should have gone on to conduct the supplementary elections as though Audu was still alive and then declared him the governor whilst Faleke is sworn in.
3. In Kogi a winner should have emerged. Audu met all the conditions as stipulated by the constitution and electoral act. INEC should have declared him the elected Governor whilst disagreeing factions should have gone to the Tribunal to challenge it (which they would have failed).
INEC caused this mess. wailer |

Sant1m: A lot of school boys view on Nairaland is affecting my interest.these days Why do we always attribute conspiracy once we do not like a decision?. (I just tire), must APC take a decision that is against the electoral act, just to satisfy Falake. The courts have established in various cases, that for any one to be declared Gov he must have gone through primaries. Falake did not go through APC or PDP or KOWA primaries, unfortunately since Audu was not declared outright as winner by Inec, Falake cannot be sworn in. Now, the argument that the vote margin of 41000 is more than 25000 or so pvc in the cancelled polling units, hence Falake should ve been declared winner though sweet to the ear, cannot be the right and legal thing to do. Our electoral Act does not recognise PVC or the number of voters with PVC, what it does recognise is THE NUMBER OF REGISTERED VOTERS in the cancelled polling units, which in this instance is 49000, more than the 41000 vote margin. Falake i believe is aware of this legal limitations, hence should know better. I don't like Bello, i don't know him, i don't like the idea he will reap from where he did not sow viz the accusation he played anti party. But one thing is sure in both the Bible and Quoran, it is GOD that gives power, he may ve decided to favour Bello by ticking for him the whole legal reasons, Falake won't win this case in court, in the court of public opinion and sentiment yes! He will win, unfortunate our courts will rely on the constitution, Electoral Act and decided cases to draw up their decision. Falake should rein in his supporters, probably nominate his proffered deputy to Bello, become a top party stalwart in Kogi, in 2019 go to the senate, allow Bello run his two terms, who knows with the support of stake holders it may be his turn in 2023 in a new power rotation agreement. Just my take, i am not from kogi GBAM......MOST COMPREHENSIVE COMMENT I HAVE SEEN SINCE THE KOGI ISSUE STARTED. SENTIMENTS WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO UNDERSTAND AND SEE FROM THIS UNBIASED POINT. THEY HAVE MONEY AND THEY WANT TO FEED THE LAWYERS THIS YULETIDE SEASON. YOU POURED OUT MY THOUGHT ON THIS ISSUE. |

babyfaceafrica: nice one...but please why cant APC challenge inec decision....?..or is there something we don't know THERE WILL BE A COURT HEARING TOMORROW, IT IS SAID THAT ALL WILL BE CLEARED BY THE LAW TOMORROW, WE FOLD OUR ARMS AND SEE WHAT THE LAW HAS FOR US. THIS DEVELOPMENT IS BASED ON THE FALEKE'S PLEA TO THE COURT TO MAKE HIM THE WINNER OF THE ELECTION. REGARDING APC DRAGGING INEC TO COURT, THERE IS NO TIME FOR THAT AS THEY ARE ALREADY ON THE VERGE OF VICTORY, ALL THEY NEED IS PLAY BY THE RULE OR THEY LOSE OUT. |
Politics › Re: Kogi: Olumoroti Rejects Running Mate Offer by youngwarlocks: 11:59am On Dec 03, 2015 |
frisky2good: Is APC trying to tell us that Faleke (as much as I don't like him) did not contribute to Audu's votes? This is broad daylight robbery. A running mate in an election also has his own loyalists and in this case I'm sure Faleke contributed more than 50,000 votes which if added to PDPs votes would have changed the outcome of that election. BROS U DONT UNDERSTAND, THIS IS ALL THE FAULT OF INEC AND NOT APC, INEC MADE A DECISION AND APC IS MAKING SURE THEY FOLLOW THE RULE OR THEY LOSE OUT. HENCE THE INTRODUCTION OF YAHAYA BELLO. PEOPLE MAY NOT LIKE HIM BUT HE IS THE SAFEST OPTION APC CAN GO WITH UNLESS INEC CHANGES ITS MIND ABOUT THE DECISION FIRST MADE. |

Anoneism: Yahaya Bello has been scammed! He should watch it because I suspect coup from Faleke's camp. My perception is that, While Yahaya Bello is there to defeat PDP in court in terms of legal justification, Faleke would just step in to snatch it from Yahaya Bello thereafter. If faleke cannot defeat fairplus now, he can never defeat him in court, for him to do dat, he has to defeat INEC first. |

Politics › APC Finally Picks Bello As Audu’s Replacement by youngwarlocks(op): 7:58pm On Nov 30, 2015 |
Commission confirms receipt of party’s communication The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed receiving a request by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to replace the late Abubakar Audu’s name with that of Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the supplementary governorship election in Kogi State. The confirmation by INEC showed that the APC has settled for Bello as late Audu’s replacement in Saturday’s supplementary election in Kogi. The receipt of the request was confirmed by INEC’s Deputy Director in charge of Publicity, Mr. Nick Dazang. He said, “They have sent the name of their replacement candidate, the second runner- up in their primaries, that is Yahaya Bello, to the commission.” He, however, failed to disclose when the request was made. Dazang assured the people of Kogi that the commission was fully prepared to conduct the Kogi supplementary and Bayelsa governorship elections on Saturday. He added, “The commission is committed to conduct the two elections, that is why in respect of kogi, despite what happened, we came out with public notice inviting the APC to submit its replacement candidate for the election.” source: http://thenationonlineng.net/apc-picks-bello-as-audus-replacement/ |
