There is nothing to learn from Gionee. Do u think Samsung cannot decide to put 6,000mah battery on a phone and make it 720p? But then do u think that phone will sell up to 1 million unit? The form factor of the phone matters, gionee m5 is hefty, ugly and have an ugly display but with huge battery. That is not enough to sell phones. Top selling phones are slimmer and needs to have qhd screen. So how do u fit in 6,000 plus mAh battery on a slim phone? I just think they should have at least made the battery 4,000mah. Even at it still won't match half of the battery life of the m5 because of the qhd display.

Using atleast a 5020mah can fit well into s6 and s7 sizes. The s6 and s7 aint really smaller in size when compared to gionee m3. The s6 is very horrible. Just 2600mah, how do they want one to enjoy the phone's high specs? They should improve their batteries.

1..reduce the brightness of your screen
2. disable WiFi when not in use.
3. turn off GPS when not in use.
4. disable background data on apps you hardly use
5. use edge network on operamini browsers for light browsing and 3g or LTE when you want to download or stream a video......if your battery is not already faulty, these will get you at least 10 good hours of usage..

No wonder...chrome is a browser that sucks battery. It doesn't use edge browser and i usually use chrome. Browsing on opera is boring

I wonder why Samsung has refused to upgrade their battery. They should learn the technology from gionee.

My own was s6 and u don't want to go near it if battery life matters to u. At. Brand new I was getting like 4-5 hours screen on time, it could last from 7am till 3pm on moderate use. But after a few months I started getting 2 and half hours of screen on time. If I have 100% by 7am the phone would already be at 30% by 11am and by 12 noon I will need to charge. On heavy usage it can hardly survive past 10am.

LOL...I was surprised when I read the reviews. If I turn off everything, what then is the joy?

7 hours is actually not bad. The op might be a medium user.
If OP was a high user, op would only achieve about 3/4 hours

The reviews I read online say theirs last 17hrs...can that be true?

My s7edge has no battery problem and its always on wifi or 4g i enjoy it more than my S6 #teamsamsung

How many hours does yours last?? It's just admitting that the high end specs can't talky new enjoyed because the battery is horrible.

I am coming from the gionee end. Even my m3 was legendary although the hardware wasn't awesome. I intend resetting the s7 edge. Is it a good idea??

Please advice. Is it normal for Samsung s7 edge battery to go off after just approximately after 7hrs? Otherwise how can i extend the battery? I was wondering why people said gionee battery was just a number. It is indeed better than Samsung in terms of battery only though and in nigeria, we all know how bad our power supply is.

All what dhtml mentioned are pure Java. I don't think there is anything more than that. If you understand all those concepts, then you are halfway an Android developer. My 2cents
