there is functional and absolute immunity, Nigeria grants absolute immunity so there is no distinction between personal and official duties immunity covers all so the bearer can't be prosecuted. However modernized countries have moved on to functional immunity which means a diplomat only enjoys immunity in exercise of formal duty not personal e.g like owning a private business and expecting immunity to cover you from paying tax and following the industrial or union rules of said business. Once you step out of the confines of carrying out your assigned duty you no longer enjoy immunity.

The only reason he will walk free, though he will be granted persona non grata and asked to leave is because we practice absolute immunity in 9ja which is stupid, if it were to be in a first world country Oyo would have been his name because they practice functional immunity.

The only way forward is to amend our ancient of melenium Constitution regarding diplomatic practices

It depends on the form of diplomatic practice in practice our stupid leaders have refused to move on from the archaic absolute immunity which first world nations have moved from because it doesn't differentiate between personal and official duties, immunity covers all, to functional immunity which only grants immunity when carrying out official duties.
