A friend just book Qatar airlines to travel on 13th of this month... He just got a message to pay for quarantine fees of 2,285 pounds... So you are wrong to say that

It’s just a misconception here. You don’t have a residence status until you arrive UK, then obtain it. Just having student visa does not automatically grant you UK residence while in Nigeria.

However, if you were studying there and came back to Nigeria to do one or two things, and this restriction was announced, then you can travel back on the basis of your residence
status as a student.

This is a false information.... the moment you posses a student visa.. you have residence permit and you can travel to the UK

Got my documents today at TLS. Visa granted.
It was quite a long wait but we thank God: biometric 25th Sept. Paid mail. 3rd Nov. Escalation 16th. Nov. Decision mail 25th Nov.
I am sure many folks are still going to get their collection mail this week.

There is no direct link to track the visa. All you need to do is login into your visa application page and it’s take you to further actions.. then you click on provide documentation and biometric and it’s takes you to TLS page if you have done your biometric and you would see track

Maybe the TLS tracking system has problem. I submitted application yesterday but today, it's showing that my application has been transferred to VAC. Meanwhile, my Biometrics is showing red in the TLS tracking site.
Also, the application I made is a standard Application, of which Decision should not have been concluded in one day.

You had your biometric yesterday and it’s showing green on transferred to VAC... Clearly, there is a problem with their system

As the name implies decision making centre; your application is reviewed in this office and decision is made while visa application centre is where you had your biometric and that’s where you would pick up your passport when sent a collection mail

What's the meaning of DMC and VAC? What exactly are their functions?
I applied yesterday and noticed that my application has been transferred to VAC from DMC within a day. What does it mean?

DMC; Decision making center while VAC ; visa application centre
