I believe you're still in the research process, business is all about profit... you put the expense you're going to make first, from this you'll definitely know how much your job should go for.

150k not bad, but all fingers are not equal... that's just my view though.
Hmmm I guess I'll just have to start with something and modify it with time

BusinessLearn How To Grow A Tech Startup by zamie(op):
Hello Guys

This thread is strictly for entrepreneurs in the tech space. I've noticed a wave of hustlers on nairaland bringing up different schemes and techniques on making money online. Most likely they are hungry and looking for food to eat or means of survival. Sorry this thread is not for hungry people. So let me start from here.....

Information on this thread is not here to make you a billionaire over night. Most people will quit on this journey. It's going to be difficult and hard, Yes. But for those that will be consistent to the end, I can promise that this will be the best decision of your life. Because you will be fucking rich, influential and happy.

Why a Tech Startup?
Simple. If you want to be a billionaire in this age and time, the only path I can recommend is to start a tech startup. Don't get me wrong you can succeed in other areas too but from what is happening 8 out of the 10 richest men in the world belong to the tech Ecosystem. I don't want to mention names we all know them, right!!

What are we gonna be discussing?
-turning an idea into a business
-your first customers
-Building a tech product
-product-market fit
-hiring the right people
-getting a co-founder or partner (optional )
-scaling your product
-Networking
-legal issues
-Bootstrapping
-Incubators and Accelerators
-KPIs and accounting
-VC funds and Angel investors
-getting media coverage
-marketing strategies

And More..

Currently I'm the founder of a thriving tech startup. A SaaS company (name withheld). I don't know everything involved in building a successful startup. But well this is a community and we can all help each other. My hope is that Africa will be a birthplace of billion dollar companies. Maybe yours can be next. If you are interested in this move.. Comment below

If you have a tech idea burning inside of you probably this is the right time to unleash. However Ideas Suck, Execution is the Game. Kudos

There's no General or fixed price for a service one charges for a service he/she rendered, it all depends on individual. I may charge N1 and you may choose to charge N2 for same service since it's a personal business.

I'm not a photographer though.
Thanks for the response.

Probably I will want to know the minimum amount that can be charged taking into consideration albums and frames and portraits that will be bought

I'm kinda planning on sticking to 150k(full/total price)
Art, Graphics & VideoPhotographers, How Much Do You Charge For Weddings? by zamie(op): 10:34am On Sep 10, 2018
Xup to all photographers on Nairaland. I really need some help in knowing what prices you guys charge on weddings or parties and how much profit is made on it.

I've researched and I've heard figures like 150k, 70k, 250k and even 500k. I want to venture into this business, so it will be helpful to know how sustainable it can be. I am connected enough and will be able to get clients easily.

Also what other value added services do you offer. I've seen people do albums (24 * x), portraits, coverage, soft copies, DVD and so on..

I'm not talking about celebrity weddings or poor-man wedding but an average and nice wedding. Let me hear your thoughts, opinions or criticism. Thanks

I advise that you to stick to American stocks and follow the footsteps of gurus that have made money trading there and are still making money

the best stockbroker that accepts nigerian clients that i will recommend is Tradezero.....and you will need a copy of your international passport and a copy of your recent domicilary bank account (usd) statement
Great Thanks

if you can,you can also trade in american stocks by registering with an an american stockbroker that accepts nigerian clients, the NSE is limited withits daily 5% move unlike american stocks
I'm actually trying out JSE now. Seems to be better off.

Kindly recommend some NYSE stockbrokers that work well for Nigerians

Out of curiosity, you are located outside the shores of Nigeria. Right?

I once invested in Renewable Energy when it was at its prime and Barack Obama's administration sought foreign hands to build new infrastructure and provide services to the overlooked sector at the time. So i picked Iberdrola Renovables.

The company started running tricks on shareholders by returning low dividends and the broker's commission i was paying was way above my stock earnings so i decided to sell off. Made a profit but back then, it was 0.05 per share, today its 6.25, last year it was 8 sumn.

Years later I found out they became the largest renewable energy firm in the world before they lost that title years ago.

I am also a big fan of bloomberg and i am a sucker for profit. That's my sport.

So whenever you're out in Europe, holla @ me and we can exchange ideas, as we share similar interests.

PS: lemme know what you know about the tourmaline commodity market in nigeria and how i can go about getting me some "esmeraldas" on the low low from the north. You got links? i got buyers

I just left canada last month and I'm currently in Lagos. Probably some day I'll look at spending time in Europe, not sure about that.

Also I have some strong contacts in the north.

Unity3d

This is a tool for creating 3d games. Popular games like Temple Run was built using this platform. It's perfect for indie developers. You get to code once and deploy for many platforms.

With the rapid adoption of Virtual Reality in gaming. Unity3d positioned itself as a tool for creating vr/ar games as well. It had vuforia support (for augmented reality) and good support for 360 content. Moreover you can check out their asset store and satisfy yourself. They even give you an option of converting your existing 3d game to a VR game.

Let me highlight some problems one may encounter along the way if not already used to Unity3d
- you need to be convenient with c# or Javascript
- you need to know 3d Modelling for creating environments and character
-it requires space and computing power
-personally I hate the fact that the apk file size is large (although worth it )

If none of the above is a problem for you then I'll advice you to take on this course...

Does freelancing still pay in nigeria?. Those scammers have given every good guy a bad name.
It has to do with your kind of customer...

Some customers will pay 750k for a project that you are willing to do for someone else at 150k

So if your client has a large pocket. Kudos. I actually don't use fiverr. I get my clients offline via recommendations. So I can't say how effective fiverr is. I've heard both the positives and negatives.

What are the likely prospects for VR development in Nigeria
Nice Question. Let's start from here. I'll list 5 industries that are quickly adopting virtual reality.

1. Education
2. Gaming
3. Tourism
4. Social VR

The biggest problem with virtual reality is insufficient content. People find it hard to create vr content and content in its nature has to be localized. Therefore, this creates a massive opportunity for anyone willing to curate content targeted around Nigeria. VR Apps, 360 videos, Panorama and so on are all VR content. And they require different level of specialization to create them.

Another problem is the high cost but prices are already coming down. So soon an average individual will feel comfortable purchasing a headset.

Most Nigerian companies can't compete in creating a new vr headset or sophisticated equipments used in VR. So the hardware opportunity is negligible. However, Creating Softwares Applications for VR is widely open to anyone. After having a proper understanding of what Virtual Reality is, I'll advice one to have a thought experiment and analyze how VR can enable the industries listed above. Then boom!! You have created an idea and have a goal.

Next Step is to pursue that goal by learning the tools that can help you achieve that. In my next post, I'll introduce Unity3d......

Virtual Reality is best experienced not explained. So first checkout this link. I'll recommend using chrome browser.

https://kuula.co/post/7PbXf

I'll talk about what it takes to become a Virtual Reality Developer and the tools you will need on this path. Tools are unending but I'll focus on three.

Unity3d
Aframe VR
Google VR SDK

If you haven't tried VR before, sorry for you. The best advice I'll give you now is to go to a mall or any gaming center that has VR headsets and try it there. When you are done, then come back to this thread thank you.

Meanwhile, Who here has experienced Virtual Reality?

Well, I've been having some thoughts and a part of me is not yet convinced that Nigeria is ready for this yet. However, let me throw it open.

My Name is Zamie. I'm a python programmer. I use python across different fields from web(django) to mobile(Kivy) to hacking(sockets, requests,.... ) to machine learning(TensorFlow, Keras) to 3d Modelling (blender) to audio synthesis(pyo) to automation(selenium) to scraping(bs4) to Robotics(raspberry pi) to..............

I don't claim to be a master in all this fields but I love dipping my leg around. However, I Specialize in Machine Learning and Django Web Framework.

But hey let's not be mistaken. This is not a thread about python. This is a thread about VIRTUAL REALITY.
