Park the car in a safe unknown destination and get a good lawyer. If by end of the month he doesn't pay, you know what to do. Any other thing he owns that you can lay your hands on, try hold on to it But GET A GOOD LAWYER

It has been suggested here. Places like Paris, France. Dublin, Ireland. Any of the Shengen countries. South Korea visa is also cheap and easy to get. I believe this places 'count'.

Why not try other countries? You seem bent on the US. Whatever it is you want in the US can wait. Visit other places, work on your ties then when you are set you can refire.
