Keep up the good work. We need more impactful projects |
It's high time we change our system of government in Nigeria. Most ministries are capable of revenue generation but lack initiative while some exist as duplicates in terms of role |
The joint committees of the Senate and House of Representatives on Interior, Tuesday, lauded the many reformative efforts of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, since he assumed office. The commendations came during the joint session of both committees in the National Assembly, during the appearance of the Minister and members of the interior team, for the 2026 budget defence session. Chairman, Senate Committee on Interior, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, while giving the commendations on behalf of the joint session, acknowledged the various reforms being undertaken by the minister, saying, such efforts are yielding serious results in placing the country’s image high, within and internationally. “Each time I pass through our airports now, I feel honored and elated that our immigration service is wearing a new phase. The reforms currently being undertaken by the Minister is yielding appreciable results,” Oshiomhole said. While he admitted more efforts needed to be done to make the reforms lasting one, the Chairman said the Lawmakers acknowledged the improvements on the various sectors in the ministry. “Recently, the President directed that the Civil Defence Corps should provide security for the VIPs, though I’m yet to get any, but I have probably seen some with my colleagues. It shows renewed recognition on the part of Mr. President and it shows you’re doing well and your service is entrusted with the protection of lives and properties. “We have the new CG of Fire Service now and just this morning, the Senate passed a resolution for the Interior to go to Kano, to see for themselves, the fire incidents that raised down many stores, private properties in Kano. So, the effort of Fire Service is also well appreciated. “The Correctional Service now has a new Head, who is trying his best to put efforts in place, in line with the reforms of the Honorable Minister. I know there are couples of things to do, and I’m sure they will get it done,” the Senator added. The Chairman, however, tasked the Civil Defence, Correctional, Immigration and Fire Service Board on the ongoing recruitment process, saying applicants who wrote examinations were angling to get their results out on time. He charged the Board to as a matter of urgent national importance, conclude the recruitment process and release the list for successful applicants. https://blueprint.ng/tunji-ojo-national-assembly-hails-interior-minister-over-major-reforms/

The promise made few months ago is now a Reality. The fire service Academy will also accommodate the private sector |
The attention of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has been drawn to a baseless online report claiming that a specific region of the country has been disqualified from passport issuance. We wish to state categorically that this report is entirely false and a gross misrepresentation of the ongoing government reforms to modernize passport administration. The reality is that the NIS has introduced a phased onboarding system to migrate passport offices including those in foreign missions to a centralized production framework. This modernization effort, which began in 2024, is designed to enhance efficiency and not exclude any citizen. The Service has successfully onboarded passport offices in the North East and North Central states of Borno, Yobe, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau, along with 35 international stations spread across Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. Furthermore, scheduled migration for the five South East states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo; and five additional international stations (Italy, Greece, Spain, Switzerland and Austria) is currently ongoing within the first quarter of 2026. Consequently, the service has established a strict work-plan calendar to ensure this transition is seamless and does not disrupt delivery timelines as the goal is to drive the process towards greater efficiency. Nigeria Immigration Service remains committed to serving all Nigerians equitably, regardless of gender, location, or status.

Federal fire service has no excuse for defaulting in discharging their duties. Improved man power and equipment Nigerians deserves the best service |
*TODAY’S POP IN JOS IS FOR 2022 & 2024 RECRUITS — NOT 2025 INTAKE* The Federal Fire Service wishes to categorically refute the false and misleading claims circulating on social media that the Passing Out Parade (POP) held today was for newly recruited 2025 officers. It is important to clearly state that the officers commissioned today are not part of the yet-to-be-released 2025 recruitment exercise, as it is still ongoing. https://x.com/i/status/2019431468356002260

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has described the entertainment industry as a major driver of creativity, employment, and economic growth, noting its expanding influence both locally and globally. Speaking during a meeting with leaders of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria on Thursday, the minister praised the sector’s “vibrancy and economic relevance.” TAMPAN, led by its President, Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr Latin, had honoured Tunji-Ojo as the association’s Man of the Year during its last summit in December 2025. The minister, in a post on his X handle on Friday, said his engagement with the association’s leadership at his office in Abuja followed a recent recognition of his work in public service. He emphasised the importance of collaboration between government and creative industry stakeholders to strengthen national development. Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the creative sector, noting its role in talent development and economic expansion. He said, “Our entertainment industry stands unmatched; the dazzling crown jewel of Nigeria; bursting with unrivaled creativity, infectious laughter, soul-stirring drama, and economic fire that continues to conquer the globe as it brings endless delight to every home. This warm engagement follows the recent honour bestowed on me as the ‘Man of the Year’ during their National Professional and Empowerment Summit, a recognition that deeply appreciates the reforms and service delivery strides in the Ministry of Interior. “We had fruitful discussions on potential areas of collaboration, as governance remains a collective responsibility among committed patriots and stakeholders. “Together, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to nurturing and empowering Nigeria’s creative talents through fostering partnerships that drive broader national development.” In his remarks, Mr Latin applauded the minister for his transformative initiatives at the ministry, which informed the TAMPAN Man of the Year award. “We are very proud of you,” he said. The TAMPAN president also sought the minister’s collaboration on movies spotlighting security measures, especially at the country’s border areas. He further informed the minister of the planned World Theatre Day in March 2027 and invited him to grace the occasion. https://punchng.com/creative-sector-key-to-growth-tunji-ojo/

Public servants needs more of this unscheduled visit this will make the more conscious to be accountable in their duties. |
Nigerians deserve the best. Public servants need to learn accountability and discipline if they must provide the best service |
One of the things everyone quietly desires is acceptance. This cuts across all genders, ages, and walks of life. It is therefore important that we ask ourselves an honest question: Why do I choose to associate with or acknowledge certain people? The truth is simple, because they have something to offer. They possess value that is not common or easily found. We all desire change and want to be associated with excellence. While some see the price of excellence as too expensive and burdensome to bear, others choose to give themselves wholly to it. For such individuals, breaking new ground, creating pathways where no foot has touched, and building towering legacies are not lofty dreams but deliberate goals. This is the result of consistency and accountability built over time. As the saying goes, “Seest thou a man diligent in his ways? He shall stand before kings and not mere men.” Excellence, therefore, is the true distinguishing factor—a valid currency in every season. For instance, it is common knowledge that opposing parties rarely find common ground; yet excellence has a way of commanding respect beyond differences, drawing acknowledgment even from unlikely quarters. A few days ago, I read an article in which a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Raphael Ajisafe, commended the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his performance in office. In his words, Tunji-Ojo has distinguished himself through diligence, competence, and patriotism. Such commendation is not earned through mere service, but through leadership that is result-oriented and people-driven. Therefore, if you ever feel unaccepted or disliked, see it as a call for honest self-evaluation, ask yourself what value you bring to the table and how consistently you are committed to excellence. |

Scrutiny strengthens reforms, but it must remain constructive and responsible to sustain national progress. While the exact cause of the delay cannot be ascertained, it is important to note that many applicants received their passports within the stipulated timeframe. Overall, the system requires continuous improvement and grooming to deliver even better outcomes. |
TemporaryHansel:As funny as this may sound. They are humans and they have families to support. Just that sometimes their demands may be excessive |
89 is good but we can do better. Nigeria has the potential to rank better I trust the current Minister to make it happen |
A Summary When you hear “dare to be different,” it is not a call to be defiant, but an invitation to be the real version of yourself not the general opinion, which most times is imperfect but accepted for the sake of convenience. I am not a conventional person. Most times, I do not fit into popular narratives or shared expectations. I am self-aware, confident, and bold at times but mostly quiet. Not by choice, but by one of my default settings. What I still struggle to understand is why my silence unsettles some people. Why quietness is mistaken for pride especially by my gender. How ironic that stillness is interpreted as arrogance. Over time, I have learned to create allowances for many people. But I recently discovered how dangerous that can be. Too much allowance creates too much room to be misunderstood, and when not handled with care, it can blur your sense of judgment. My circle of friends keeps getting smaller not by intention, not out of bitterness. Life simply happens. Priorities shift. Clarity grows. And yes, I am in a relationship with my surest guy, Sir J a constant, steady presence in my evolving seasons. |
I would really love to know what the school is doing about this. School hostel not off campus 😴 The student deserves their freedom |
