I am also in this situation. My visa expires june and am due in August. I will be leaving Nigeria the middle of June. Usually it’s safer to go through jfk in that situation as that is what I plan on doing. I was advised by different agents to use the visa for the journey before I reapply. Iv read where people drop their passports for drop box and it is held for up to 3 month. You are good to go. Just go through a friendly POE.

Also go with your child you had already in the US.

Hi i guess due to the New Visa 5 years Visa the keep our Passports for a longer period not the regular 3/5 days My hubby and kids submitted their passport at DHL in Feb but got the pp after 6 weeks with the 5 year Visa Stamped..

How do you get VOA?? Can you explain better.
We got PP already. We are checking if to use ETC or VOA.
Thank you
You have to contact an Nigerian Immigration officer from Nigeria, he/she will ask you to send Documents containing LO pp mum/dad pp,babys birth certificate ticket of you and LO then Application letter on babys behalf.. then payment. In naira they will send you the Approval and payment receipt one document to show airline you can also use it to check in online because it will consist of ref/visa number.. then the baby will be stamped on Arrival at the Naija airport.. was easier for me..

Hello Zee,
Did you declare your pregnancy at POE and if yes Please give a detailed breakdown of the documents you held including the cash in your possession and how the whole experience was like, My wife is currently pregnant and we’re looking at Maryland/Virginia for delivery, so I want to know when’s best for her to travel.
Thank you.

Hi everyone. Please has anyone birthed recently in Houston? Kindly assist with how long it took for baby’s passport to be issued. I want to book a flight so I am looking at having a timeline that covers the whole duration as changing flight dates may attract high fares with the rate airlines charges so high now. Please help a sister. Thank you so much

And yes when booking my flight i booked for 2 months duration travelled at 34wks prego had my LO at 39 wks preggo, i got his BC and SSN one week after his birth booked baby’s one way ticket which was 60USD Called pp US PP Agency got an appointment though Hubby was around so we went to the county office to notarize his Consent form because he wasn’t around on the PP appointment date so I traveled alone to PP agency..

Yes why i got lucky to get same day PP was because they had public holiday a day to my travel date so they wont be available so they told me to come back by 1.pm after appearing at 8.am with the baby.. and yes VoA is still a thing u need to contact Immigration officers in Naija.. it took 2 workings for me..

I applied for my baby’s passport on Jan 20th and it was out by Jan 24th. However, I had to show a travel reservation/ticket that showed we were traveling within 14days from the passport application date.

Thank you for your reply

Pls I have some questions.
1) did u apply for the baby’s passport in US or Nigeria? There is no date available in Newyork.
Is it true that you can apply for a fresh US passport in Nigeria? The baby has SSN and birth certificate.
2) we booked Qatar airways. Is it ok?
Your visa will still be valid by the time you are ready to travel. There's no need applying for another.
Contact a doctor and hospital, make all necessary arrangements and have everything ready for POE.

howdy cuties....please I need some info from u you...cos I'm also thinking Chicago...I don't know how to chat up with you...

Pls o I'm overwhelmed with baby care so might not be able to reply everyone...
For budget sheet send me an email.
For Qatar go to their website and click your location which is US and it will list the customer care no that you can call...I called and booked without LO's passport details...it's not needed..I paid with my GTB naija debit card which was done when I called..gave the CC agent my card details and I was debited and transit hotel reservation was also done on the spot..

For leaving 14 days...I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want anyone to bad mouth, discourage or gimme unnecessary advise.. what I needed was the airlines policy on the no of days an infant is fit to fly which is 14days old and also paediatrician's check up that my LOs is healthy that's all...
Hello house!
I have shared visa and Poe experience so it's time to share my birthing experience.
I stayed in Michigan till a week to my EDD before I left for Chicago
I had my LO on Wednesday 19th of July in Chicago. A day after delivery my LO's birth certificate was ready but cldnt get it till after I was discharged (I fast tracked it).I was discharged on Friday evening..went to vital records to get the BC. Had an appointment with the paediatrician On Tuesday after I was discharged and LO was certified okay...I got a fit to fly for my LO from the paediatrician cos I was gonna travel to NY and domestic airlines need certification for infants less than 14days to fly. Went back to Michigan on weds.

Called Qatar airways Customer Care to get my LO ticket and was charged $150.(note that I got my ticket from wakanow but booked LO directly)
Hubby mailed notarized form thru FedEx (I was very disappointed in their service) after several calls to them I eventually got the package on Saturday after which I left for the airport to board plane to NY.

On Monday I went to NY passport office very early as walk in and I met a very long queue...eventually after 5hrs I made it in and my passport was processed for $165 I waited to collect it...left there around 9pm. On Tuesday I sent a mail for visa on on arrival to the immigration and got a reply after 5 hrs..
On Wednesday, Got to the airport checked in all my over weight luggage (3 big luggages 2 for me and 1 for baby) no extra charges the guy was too nice, checked in baby stroller and car seat and my supposed overweight hand luggage..lol...
Had 9 hrs layover at Doha was lodged in a hotel...slept for 3hrs before we were taken back to the airport..got to naija on Friday morn..got my luggage and went to the visa on arrival section...paid $200 and I was given change of $10 lol...
I left NY
