Spokesman to Presidency, Garba Shehu has disclosed that Federal Government has directed the military to vacate the premises of Daily Trust newspaper in Borno State.


The directive came following wide condemnation of the taking over of Daily Trust newspaper premises by the Nigerian military in Borno State.

“Issues between the military and the newspaper as they affect the coverage of the war in the Northeast will be resolved through dialogue.” He said.

President Vladimir Putin paid surprised to hospital facilities, spoke to employees and patients, congratulated everybody on the New Year and Christmas and presented gifts.


The President was accompanied by Archpriest Alexander Tkachenko who initiated the opening of the hospice, Acting Governor of St Petersburg Alexander Beglov and Healthcare Minister Veronika Skvortsova.


The hospital provides medical care to St Petersburg children aged between three months and 18 years to relieve pain and other severe symptoms at the stage when other forms of radical treatment are exhausted.

The official spokesman of the presidency, Garba Shehu has disclosed that President Buhari will campaign for all APC candidates in the forth coming elections. These clarification came following media enquiries over the rumoured endorsement of Ogun State APM governorship candidate by President Buhari.

According to him, the presidency wishes to state in clear and unmistakable terms that as a party leader and candidate on the platform of the APC in the coming elections, President Buhari will campaign for the party and all its candidates.

He also said , President Buhari as the nation's leader, will not decline courtesy calls or offers of support from citizens including candidates flying the flags of other parties.

People's Democratic Party PDP has said President Buhari is recycling campaign promises of 2015 in 2019 election campaign. The party made the statement by listing some of the Buhari’s campaign promises in 2015 which the party thinks Mr. President failed to achieved in his first 4years in office .

Recycled Campaign Promises: The fact that President Buhari is anchoring his 2019 campaign on seeking solutions for the same issues of economy, anti-corruption & insecurity, which he promised in 2015 but failed to deliver is an evidence that he has nothing more to offer.

President Buhari therefore, has no business seeking a re-election in 2019, as Nigerians are no longer ready to follow any leader who has no solutions to the myriads of problems facing our nation.

Instead of improving on the successes recorded by previous PDP administrations, President Buhari only succeeded in plunging our economy into a harrowing recession, wrecked our naira from N160 to the dollar, under the PDP to N500, and then to the current N360.

President Buhari also foisted obnoxious economic policies that scared away investors from our land, collapsed businesses, destroyed over 30 millions jobs, de-marketed our nation before the globe and plunged our citizens into the worst form of hunger and poverty.

Whereas the PDP paid off Nigeria’s foreign debts & grew a virile economy, Buhari’s achievements are the accumulation of trillion of naira in debts, depletion of our foreign financial instruments and making our once thriving nation the poverty capital of the world.

Under President Buhari’s promised Eldorado, purchasing powers of Nigerians have fallen abysmally low, the cost of fuel increased from the N87 under the PDP to N145. Cost of food items and other essential commodities skyrocketed beyond reach, leaving our citizens forlorn.

President Buhari cannot point to any development project his administration initiated and completed in the last three and half years, despite the huge resources at his disposal, yet he is wishing to seek re-election on the same old promises he failed to deliver.

The People's Democratic Party PDP, has alleged that over N4 billion has been looted for President Buhari's re-election campaign.

The party also charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC to investigate the alleged looting under the Trademoni, Anchor Borrowers and IDP Funds.


The party made the call in a statement through it twitter handler. See full statement below,

Tradermoni, Anchor Borrower, IDP Funds, etc: We charge the EFCC to investigate the alleged looting of over N4 billion under the Tradermoni and the Farmers Anchor Borrower schemes, to fund President Buhari’s 2019 re-election campaign.
The PDP PPCO also urges the EFCC to open investigation into the alleged looting of the repatriated $322 million (about N115 billion), by the Buhari Presidency, under the cover of distributing the money to the poor.
The EFCC should also commence the prosecution of all those indicted by the House of Representatives, alongside Osinbajo, for allegedly diverting a huge part of the N33 billion, meant for food and other welfare items for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the N/E
Buhari is being very unfair to Nigerians by asking them to get ready for more suffering in the coming year when trillions of naira meant for their wellbeing have been siphoned & stashed in his coffers, where APC leaders also fritter funds to finance their wasteful life styles.
On the repatriated N115 billion, we charge the EFCC to make public, its findings on allegation that 90 % of the estimated 300,000 households listed as beneficiaries are phony family names supplied by fraudulent APC leaders and the Presidency Cabal.
