The IGP, Ag. IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has expressed deep concerns over increasing acts of impunity and jungle justice and all manner of dehumanising treatment meted out to Nigerians by unscrupulous persons.


The IGP who is appalled with the recently publicized incident in the social media portraying the unsavoury debasement and incalculable assault on one Odugu Blessing Dada ‘f’, 45yrs, of No. 77 Morka Street, Boji-boji Owa in Ika North East LGA of Delta State, notes that this incident, like other similar incidence before it, in Edo, Lagos, Abuja and Ebonyi amongst others, has become worrisome.

The IGP therefore warns that his regime which has zero tolerance for human rights abuse especially gender based violence, will do everything humanly possible and within the ambit of the law to put an end to the scourge and effectively prosecute all offenders.

The IGP condoles with all victims of jungle justice and other forms of extra-judicial acts particularly Odugu Blessing Dada, her family and friends over the wicked and unwarranted assault on her by one Friday Ndudi Eluro et. al, and also commends all Nigerians, whom, by their words and actions, have clearly identified with the victim and raised the red flag on impunity and all forms of inhuman treatment in the Country.


Meanwhile, the IGP who is enthused that most of the alleged perpetrators of this particular crime have been apprehended, nonetheless, has ordered the newly posted CP, Delta State, CP Adeleke Yinka, psc to ensure that the case be expeditiously and thoroughly investigated and all indicted suspects charged to court. The IGP calls on all Nigerians to steer-clear of human rights violations and all manner of impunity and jungle justice and to report all incidence to the nearest relevant authority.

He however warns that henceforth violators of the rights of human persons will be dealt-with in accordance with the law.

President Buhari has failed his integrity test and has no moral rectitude to pontificate on corruption, having entangled himself and soiled his administration in corruption.

If there is any person whose activities of corruption has become a threat to the coming election, it is President Buhari, who is financing his campaign with looted funds, while surrounding himself with politicians indicted for corruption.

President Buhari presides over the most corrupt and incompetent administration in the history of our nation, for which Nigerians are very eager to go to the polls on Saturday to vote him out of office.

Is it not strange therefore that President Buhari who wants Nigerians to perceive his administration as fighting corruption, will cast a net into the ocean and bring out only corrupt people to run his campaign?


The truth is that Nigerians have seen more than enough of the fake fight against corruption and have come to a conclusion that President Buhari is merely paying lip services to this fight. He has no intention to do it.

Rather than seeking for sympathy votes, President Buhari should simply admit his failure in governance and allow Nigerians to build their future by getting our nation working again under the leadership of Atiku.

Our attention has been drawn to a fake article circulating on line, to the effect that former President Jonathan has expressed misgivings over the emergence of Mr. Peter Obi as the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The publication which was first posted on Facebook last week, claimed that the former President stated this in “a fifteen pages key note address” delivered “during the official inauguration of his foundation for the less privileged in Burkins Hall Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.”

Troops of Sector 3 of Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed in Mallam Fatori in Abadam Local Government of Borno State yesterday 2 February 2019 at about 6pm during a routine defence patrol encountered Boko Haram Terrorists whose intent was to attack troop’s location. The insurgents who came in their numbers met their waterloo as the gallant troops proved to be hard knot for them to crack.


The terrorists were mercilessly trashed due to the superior fire power, courage and discipline displayed by own troops in conjunction with the Air Task Force. Many of them were neutralized while several others escaped with gunshot wounds. Various weapons and ammunitions were recovered from the terrorists. Unfortunately, three soldiers were wounded in action and presently receiving treatment at 7 Division Hospital Maiduguri.

He further reiterated the commitment of the officers and soldiers to bring to an end to the activities of Boko Haram Insurgents in Northern Borno. Troops of 192 Battalion while on patrol in conjunction with Civilian JTF, along Gwoza-Yamteke on Wed 30th Jan 2019, came across some Boko Haram Terrorist attempting to infiltrate the area. The terrorists opened fire on them which lead to a heavy exchange of fire.

The gallant troops applied superior fighting skills and overpowered the terrorists and neutralised 4 Boko Haram Terrorist including Adamu Rugu Rugu a very notorious terrorist, an indegene of Gwoza town, who had been troubling the law abiding citizens of Gwoza and its environment for many years.

State of the Nation Address by Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Monday, January 28th, 2019.


Yet again, our dear country is passing through a difficult moment.

How we react to this challenge in the following days will determine the fate of our democracy, which has been brought to great peril by this needless crisis engineered by a government that is unwilling to subject its conducts to the requirements of our constitution.

Meanwhile, I commend all Nigerians and friends of Nigeria who have expressed outrage over the unlawful removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, an action, which constitutes a flagrant breach of our constitution and a frontal assault on our democracy.

I want to note the universal condemnation of this unlawful act by all Nigerians, as well as the international community.

I need to state that this latest action by General Muhammadu Buhari falls squarely within the pattern of executive lawlessness that has now been firmly turned into statecraft by the APC government.

The serial disregard of court orders, and consequent violation of constitutionally guaranteed human rights of our citizens confirms beyond all doubt that General Buhari and his government would rather obey their own whims and operate by separate rules outside the well-established constitutional order and the rule of law. It scarcely requires emphasis that this behaviour is alien to democratic rule and more in line with that of a military dictator.


Without doubt, the fight against corruption is crucial to good governance and the progress of our country. In this context, the issue of corruption as it relates to the institution of the judiciary is even more crucial.

As the last refuge of the common man, our judiciary must not only be above suspicion but must also be seen to be manifestly above board.

The issue at stake is not whether the Chief Justice is guilty or not, but whether his removal from office has been done in accordance with the process specified in our constitution.

As a democrat, I must say, without equivocation, that no mission or goal, no matter how noble or well intended, should be used as a pretext for the subversion of our democracy and our democratic institutions.

To create a condition that allows the constitution and the rule of law to become secondary to any other agenda is to pave the way for tyranny.

History is replete with odious dictators whose path to dictatorship started with statements of good intentions. We must therefore remain vigilant in defense of our democracy.

We are all witnesses to how this government has serially assaulted the National Assembly, a separate arm of government that represents the bastion of our democracy.

However, with this attack on the judiciary, General Buhari has set a new precedent in our democracy that has no equivalence in our history, not even in the darkest days of military dictatorship. This cannot be allowed to stand.

At this juncture, I must warn the APC government to desist from taking actions that may push us further down the slippery slope towards a major constitutional crisis that could derail the electoral process.

General Muhammadu Buhari must remember that he is a beneficiary of a free and fair election. It is therefore a matter of honour for him to allow a political environment and process that gives confidence to everyone.


All my life, I have been a democrat and a defender of democracy. Like all men of good conscience and patriots, I believe this present challenge has imposed on us yet again, the duty to rise in peaceful defense of democracy, for which so many have laid down their lives.

I also know that the surest weapon against tyranny is the democratic will of the people. Nigerians have consistently demonstrated their preference for democracy, and I am, and will always remain, on the side of the people of Nigeria.

I conclude by expressing, once again, my gratitude to the international community for standing by our country in this challenging time.

However, the primary responsibility to resist tyranny and protect democracy in Nigeria ultimately lies with Nigerians. It is on this note that I call on all Nigerians to seize the opportunity of the coming general elections to vote in defense of democracy and the rule of law.

We must vote out this anti-democratic government and restore our country to the path of true democracy, which is the surest way to ensure progress and prosperity for our people.

The PDP alerts of moves by certain agents of the Buhari Presidency to bribe Senators of the APC extraction to protect the embattled President Buhari from imminent parliamentary sanctions for constitutional breaches and gross misconduct.


Intelligence available to the PDP shows that this is the reason the jittery Presidency had summoned all APC senators to the Presidential Villa to a clandestine meeting on Monday night, ahead of the Senate’s resumption on Tuesday.
