European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)DR Congo Set To Shell Out ₦70 Billion To Sponsor Barcelona by Zenzu01(op): 9:39am On Jul 18, 2025
The Democratic Republic of Congo has agreed to pay over ₦70.85 billion in a sponsorship deal with FC Barcelona as part of a strategy to promote the country as a leading African destination.

The deal, revealed in a contract dated June 29, will see Congo's "Heart of Africa" tourism logo featured prominently on team apparel and club media.

Congo targets global rebranding with bold football play

As part of the four-year agreement, Congo will pay the Spanish giants between €10 million and €11.5 million annually.

The deal includes branding rights on the backs of Barcelona’s training and warm-up jerseys for both the men’s and women’s teams, as well as placements in the club’s magazine, annual report, and advertising spaces.

According to Congolese officials, this is a calculated move aimed at rebranding the nation’s international image and promoting tourism, even amid internal instability.

It follows similar deals with AC Milan and AS Monaco, reportedly worth €14 million and €1.6 million per season, respectively.

Sports Minister Didier Budimbu and Tourism Minister Didier M’Pambia have both described these sponsorships as part of a larger vision to position the DRC as a leader in African tourism and investment.

Mixed reactions trail DR Congo’s mega spending amid conflict

While government officials see these deals as a long-term investment in soft power and international image-building, the decision has drawn criticism at home.

With eastern Congo still plagued by violence and displacement, critics argue that spending over ₦70 billion on football sponsorships may not reflect the country’s most urgent needs.

This deal also comes just months after DR Congo called on top European clubs to cut ties with Rwanda over alleged rebel support in the region. Barcelona has declined to comment, and Congo’s tourism ministry remains silent.

Fans are excited to see how their Super Eagles stars, Boniface and Tella, both seen as rising stars, will fit into the former Manchester United manager’s plans.

Sports3-time Champions League Winners Agree Deal With Lookman Despite Atletico Links by Zenzu01(op): 8:47am On Jul 17, 2025
Serie A giants Inter Milan have taken a major step forward in their pursuit of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, reaching a personal agreement with the Atalanta star despite growing interest from Atletico Madrid.

The Nerazzurri, fresh off a squad reshuffle, are now focused on striking a final deal with Atalanta to secure one of Serie A’s most explosive attackers.

Inter agree terms with Lookman but face €50m Atalanta hurdle

According to Corriere dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia, Inter Milan have prioritised Lookman as their top summer attacking target after parting ways with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic.

The 27-year-old, who is the reigning African Player of the Year, has reportedly reached an informal agreement with Inter on personal terms.

However, the club must still convince Atalanta to lower their €50 million asking price. Inter are prepared to table an offer worth €40 million, fully paid up front, which could be enough to start serious negotiations.

Encouragingly for the Nerazzurri, this fee can be paid without needing to offload any key first-team players. While Lookman is eager for the move, his future remains in limbo until the two Italian clubs reach a consensus.

Atletico Madrid intensify pursuit but Inter remain confident

Despite Inter’s progress, they are not alone in the race. Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also pushing hard to bring Lookman to LaLiga.

Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Colchoneros have held direct talks with Lookman in recent days, undeterred by their ongoing negotiations for Thiago Almada.

Still, Inter’s current advantage lies in the agreement already in place with the player. The coming days could prove decisive, as Inter look to fend off late competition and finalise a deal that would bolster their attack heading into the 2025–26 season.

SportsJoy For Osimhen As Galatasaray Reportedly Agree To Napoli’s Demands by Zenzu01(op): 8:58am On Jul 16, 2025
Victor Osimhen’s long-awaited permanent transfer to Galatasaray is now closer than ever, as the Turkish giants have reportedly agreed to meet Napoli’s financial demands.

After weeks of tense back-and-forth, Football Italia reports that Galatasaray will send a formal offer that satisfies all the key conditions of the €75 million deal.

Galatasaray meet strict payment structure set by Napoli

Despite Osimhen’s release clause expiring, Napoli refused to budge from their €75 million valuation. The sticking point was not just the amount, but the payment structure.

Napoli demanded the full fee to be delivered within 12 months and insisted on a significant portion, nearly €50 million, to be paid upfront.

Previous proposals from Galatasaray had fallen short of these demands, offering staggered installments that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis found unacceptable.

However, following a direct call between club executives, Galatasaray reportedly assured Napoli that a new formal offer, matching both the amount and the payment conditions, will be submitted by tomorrow.

Osimhen on brink of dream move after loan success

The agreement would mean Napoli receives the full sum by July 2026, aligning with the Italian club’s financial planning.

For Osimhen, this development marks a turning point in what has been a long and frustrating transfer saga.

The Nigerian forward spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he quickly became a fan favourite and publicly expressed his desire to stay in Istanbul permanently. With Galatasaray now aligning with Napoli’s terms, Osimhen is finally set to complete the move he has been pushing for.

It is a major win for the 26-year-old, who is eager to continue his career in the UEFA Champions League and build on his successful stint in Turkey.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: 5 Times Chelsea Shocked The Football World by Zenzu01(op): 8:24am On Jul 16, 2025
A cross section of star-studded teams crying after being humbled by Chelsea.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)5 Times Chelsea Shocked The Football World by Zenzu01(op): 8:22am On Jul 16, 2025
Football fans recently witnessed a historic moment as Pulse Sports reported that Chelsea beat PSG 3-0 in the World Club Cup Final at MetLife Stadium US. Cole Palmer was the ultimate hero for the Blues, scoring two goals in eight minutes before setting up Joao Pedro for the third goal.

This latest triumph means the London blue side currently stands as the only team in football history to have won every major European and global club competition. In this article, Pulse Sports aims to explore 5 times Chelsea shocked the football world.

1. Chelsea Beating Barcelona at Camp Nou in 2012

Before the 2012 final, Chelsea had to overcome Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Barcelona in the semi-finals. With captain John Terry sent off in the 37th minute and playing with 10 men, all hope was lost for the London side.

But the resilient Chelsea defended with grit even when nobody believed they would be able to win against a Barcelona side with the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, and Puyol on the pitch.

In the end, it became a night that defied logic and one that solidified Chelsea’s place in history after getting away with a 2-all draw that saw them through.

2. The Miracle of Munich: 2012 UEFA Champions League Final

In what is arguably one of football’s greatest underdog stories, The Blues lifted the Champions League trophy in 2012. That victory remains a fairytale in football history, especially to Chelsea fans.

Muller put the German side ahead in the 83rd minute, which seemed like a done deal for Bayern Munich. However, Didier Drogba's late header forced extra time, and he subsequently scored the winning penalty.

With Chelsea struggling domestically and having their manager André Villas-Boas sacked mid-campaign, nobody expected them to head to the UCL finals, let alone win it. That was also their first-ever Champions League title.

3. Chelsea Winning the Champions League Again in 2021

When Thomas Tuchel took over a struggling Chelsea side midway through the 2020/21 season, few predicted a European triumph. But Chelsea stunned the world by beating Manchester City 1-0 in the Champions League final.

At that time, Pep Guardiola had already established his dominance in the EPL and the European competition. With N’Golo Kanté’s masterclass and Kai Havertz’s winning goal, Chelsea once again defied the odds, showing their resilience and tactical brilliance.

4. Chelsea Defeating PSG 3-0 in the 2025 Club World Cup Final

Chelsea recently made a statement in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup 2025 by reaching the final. However, facing and beating a star-studded PSG side with a stunning 3 goals without conceding is not what anyone saw coming.

It was Chelsea’s second Club World Cup title and a bold reminder that the club continues to evolve and dominate on global stages.

5. Chelsea is the Only Club to Win all the Major International Club Competitions

One of the most astonishing achievements in modern football belongs to Chelsea: they are the only team to have won all four major international club competitions.

The Blues have won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League, and now, the FIFA Club World Cup.

If you expected such a feat to be accomplished, you’d likely guess a historical giant like Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich, but it was Chelsea that achieved this incredible feat.

This rare accomplishment cements their legacy as one of the most successful and versatile clubs in football history, capable of winning under any condition, against any opposition.

What’s Next for Chelsea

This recent Club World Cup victory not only established Chelsea as a dominant force on the global stage but also created momentum for future successes. We hope to see more of the Blues in the upcoming season, especially as they’ve signed more players. Football fans will also expect to see the Chelsea team win the EPL and other titles under Enzo Maresca.

SportsOsimhen: Galatasaray President Explains Why They Rejected Napoli's Counter Offer by Zenzu01(op): 7:12am On Jul 15, 2025
Galatasaray's president, Dursen Ozbek, rejected Napoli's counterproposal for Victor Osimhen.

Galatasaray's leadership have communicated that they will not be caving to Napoli's demands, only proceeding with the signing of Victor Osimhen on their terms.

Napoli prove difficult

After reaching an agreement with Victor Osimhen on personal terms, Galatasaray submitted an official offer of around €55 million for the striker, which was immediately rejected.

Galatasaray returned with an offer of around €70m, including the bank guarantees the Partenopei demanded; however, the bid was rejected.

The Turkish champions eventually matched the €75 million demand but could not reach an agreement on the payment structure.

Galatasaray will not be bullied

Galatasaray are also drawing a hard line in the sand during negotiations and have said that they will not go overboard.

According to GsGazette, Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek made an interesting analogy explaining why they will not match Napoli's specific demands. He said, "If you buy a €75 million car for €50 million, it's a success. Anything else isn't a success. We can't give them a letter of guarantee. But we will complete this transfer.”

Update: Galatasaray's refusal

Fabrizio Romano published details of Napoli's latest demands. The Partenopei, according to the report, want €35 million paid next year in only one instalment after the initial €40 million has been paid this year.

The Napoli hierarchy are also demanding a sell-on clause. Galatasaray are said to have rejected both demands. They do not want a sell-on clause included in the deal and want to complete the payment in 2027.

In a surprising moment at the FIFA Club World Cup final, U.S. President Donald Trump declared his belief in the greatest football player of all time.

Seen courtside during Chelsea’s emphatic 3–0 drubbing of PSG at MetLife Stadium, Trump proposed renaming “soccer” to “football” in the U.S., aligning the American lexicon with global usage.

The moment added colour to an already star-studded Club World Cup final, as Trump participated in medal distribution and post-match celebrations.

What Trump said

Trump named Pelé as his choice for the greatest player ever, claiming to have watched the Brazilian legend from his youth.

“Many years ago when I was young, they brought a player named Pele to play and he played team called Cosmos and Steve Ross, a friend of mine, winer communications was the inspiration behind this and this place was packed,” he said via DAZN Football.

The comment comes on the heels of Chelsea's dominant win in the Club World Cup final against PSG, a historic result marked by Palmer’s brace, João Pedro’s goal, and numerous viral moments including a red card for PSG’s Neves.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Grand Homecoming - Barcelona Plan Messi's Camp Nou Reunion To Reopen Stadium by Zenzu01(op): 9:34am On Jul 12, 2025
The Camp Nou renovations are a major undertaking, with the stadium's full reopening slated for the 2026-27 season. The tribute is envisioned as both a formal farewell and a celebration of Messi's legendary tenure at Barcelona.

During his time with the club, he made 778 appearances, scored 672 goals, and won 35 trophies. Barcelona views the event as a crucial step in reconnecting with its history, its fans, and potentially showcasing both Messi and rising star Lamine Yamal together.

Messi set for Camp Nou return

According to Mundo Deportivo, via Goal, the club aims to make Messi the centrepiece of a special ceremony to mark the stadium's completion.

The event is tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2026, coinciding with the expected installation of the new roof. Currently playing for Inter Miami, Messi is considered the ideal figurehead for this momentous occasion.

Messi last played for Barcelona in May 2021 before joining Paris Saint-Germain. He now plays for Inter Miami, where he helped the club secure its first major title, the 2023 Leagues Cup.

The club will closely monitor the stadium's renovation progress. If the roof installation stays on schedule for summer 2026, the Messi tribute and reopening ceremony will proceed as planned during the 2026-27 season. SportsPSG Star Hakimi Sparks Dating Rumours With Dutch Model 2 Years His Senior by Zenzu01(op): 9:20am On Jul 12, 2025
Achraf Hakimi and Imaan Hammam have sparked dating rumours after being spotted together once again—this time in New York.

The Morocco international, 26, and the Dutch fashion model, 28, were seen in newly surfaced images that have reignited talk of a potential romance.

Hammam, who is also of Moroccan descent has appeared on Vogue no less than 23 times in her caree.

This marks the third time the pair have been seen in the same location in recent weeks.

Just last month, Hammam was present in Munich for the UEFA Champions League final, where she shared snaps from the stadium to her social media stories.

She was reportedly there in support of Hakimi, who featured for PSG.

And only days ago, Hammam was also seen cheering from the stands as PSG defeated Real Madrid on July 9 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, booking a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

A Vogue connection turned into something more?

While neither Hakimi nor Hammam has confirmed a romantic relationship, their long-standing friendship dates back to their joint Vogue Arabia cover in March 2025.

The duo not only posed together but also interviewed each other for the feature.

During the shoot, Hakimi opened up about his proudest moment:

“My greatest accomplishment, beyond the titles and personal achievements, was being able to tell my parents they no longer had to work.

"That moment meant everything to me—to show them their sacrifices paid off, and that I could support them while pursuing my passion. That’s my most meaningful achievement of all.”

In return, Imaan shared:

“There are so many! Walking for Victoria’s Secret was a huge moment for me. Being on the cover of Vogue, especially with my own natural hair, was something I’ll always be proud of because it was about being my authentic self.

"But honestly, every time I see a young girl telling me I’ve inspired her, that’s the most rewarding feeling of all.”

Since that feature, both have publicly described each other as “very good friends,” but fans aren’t convinced their relationship is strictly platonic.

SportsVictor Boniface's Price Tag Sees AC Milan Shift Attention To Chelsea Striker by Zenzu01(op): 11:17am On Jul 11, 2025
Speculation is mounting over Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson's future, with AC Milan reportedly intensifying their pursuit of the Senegalese international.

The Rossoneri's keen interest in Jackson appears to be a direct consequence of Bayer Leverkusen's hefty asking price for their primary target, Victor Boniface.

According to various Italian sources, including Alfredo Pedullà and Matteo Moretto, AC Milan is "obsessed" with Jackson and has already made inquiries regarding the conditions of a potential transfer.

While Nigerian star Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen had initially been the top priority for the Serie A giants, reports indicate that Leverkusen has set a formidable €50 million price tag on the forward.

This figure, though lower than his previous valuation of €70 million, remains an important investment, especially given Boniface's injury-hampered 2024-2025 season where he managed 8 league goals and 2 assists in 19 appearances (11 goals in 27 total outings across all competitions).

In contrast, Chelsea's valuation of Nicolas Jackson is reportedly around £50 million (approximately €55-60 million), a figure that appears more palatable to Milan.

Chelsea acquired Jackson from Villarreal two years ago for €35 million.

Milan's interest in Jackson follows similar rumblings from other European heavyweights, including Juventus, Napoli, and Atlético Madrid, all of whom are believed to be monitoring the striker's situation.

Jackson, at 24 years of age, remains a player with considerable room for growth. He was Chelsea's second-most influential attacker last season, after Cole Palmer, and achieved the notable feat of scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists in 30 Premier League appearances during the 2024-2025 season.

He is only the second Chelsea striker, alongside Tammy Abraham, to net 10 or more league goals in back-to-back seasons since Diego Costa.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Maresca Boasts Over Chelsea Players Before Club World Cup Final by Zenzu01(op): 9:04am On Jul 10, 2025
Enzo Maresca has lauded his Chelsea players for their readiness and contributions, highlighting how the demanding Club World Cup has showcased the strength and depth of his squad.

The head coach has provided minutes to every available outfield player, including new signing Joao Pedro, who impressively scored two goals against his former club Fluminense on Tuesday.

Maresca has utilised 27 players for Chelsea in the United States, where the Blues have benefitted from a kind draw to reach the final.

Maresca lauds squad depth
Maresca emphasised the importance of having a large and prepared squad for such a demanding competition, highlighting his players' professionalism and quality.

The Italian manager expressed pride that Chelsea's strong end to the regular season has extended into the tournament.

“But also they have to be ready, and they have to show they are good players, that we can count on them, and how professional they are. It is something that we also need for the future.”

Maresca then stressed that Chelsea are restoring their rightful place in football, having secured a top-four Premier League finish, won the Conference League and now reached this major final.

“The last few years have not been what the club deserves or what the history of this club says. This year, luckily, has gone quite well,” the manager continued.

“We have finished top four and qualified for the Champions League. In the Conference League, we managed to win it, and now we are in this final. We are very proud to help the club get back to where it deserves to be.”

What’s next for Chelsea?

Chelsea will face Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final, aiming to cap off an encouraging season with a second title after the Conference League.

SportsLet Me Go — Osimhen Tells Napoli To Accept ₦134b Offer From League Winners by Zenzu01(op): 1:38pm On Jul 09, 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is on his way out of Napoli and has reportedly informed the club to get a deal done as soon as possible.

Osimhen has been the talk of the transfer window, after multiple rejected bids from Saudi side Al Hilal, who were desperate to sign the 26-year-old ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Turkish side Galatasaray, where Osimhen spent last season on loan, now look poised to sign him on a permanent basis after submitting a bid to Napoli this week.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed the Nigerian has now asked Napoli to speed up an agreement with Galatasaray.

Romano tweeted: “Victor Osimhen has informed Napoli of his desire to get deal sealed with Galatasaray ASAP. Galatasaray will pay €75m as release clause value — but negotiating payment terms in 5 years, as exclusively revealed. Contract “ready since Sunday; until June 2028 plus option.”

Pulse Sports reported that the former Lille man has agreed to a 28 billion naira annual salary to join Galatasaray, pending agreement between clubs.

This will be a blow to the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, who have been monitoring the situation as they look to solve their striking issues ahead of next season.

Osimhen scored 37 goals in 41 appearances for Galatasaray last season and built a strong relationship with the fans, who are believed to be excited for his return.

SportsI Forgive You - Real Madrid's Mbappe Withdraws Lawsuit Against PSG by Zenzu01(op): 8:59am On Jul 09, 2025
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has officially withdrawn his legal complaint of moral harassment against former club Paris Saint-Germain, just days before facing PSG in the Club World Cup semi-finals.

What happened

The complaint stemmed from Mbappé’s treatment during the early months of the 2023–24 season, following his refusal to extend his contract with PSG. The 25-year-old was banished from first-team activities, forced to train with a group of unwanted players, and excluded from the club’s pre-season tour of Asia as well as the Ligue 1 opener.

Although the France captain was later reintegrated into the squad after internal negotiations, the incident triggered backlash from player welfare groups.

France’s players’ union, UNFP, also filed a separate complaint over the alleged marginalisation of players nearing the end of their contracts.

Despite withdrawing the harassment case, Mbappé’s legal battle with PSG is not over.

The forward is reportedly still seeking €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses that he claims are owed from his final season at the Parc des Princes.

Mbappé’s lawyer, Pierre-Olivier Sur, confirmed the development on Monday in a statement reported by AFP.

He said, “We are withdrawing our civil action”. The decision signals a de-escalation in the long-standing tensions between the French superstar and his former employers.

Now with Real Madrid, Mbappé is focused on their Club World Cup semi-final against his former team.

The clash with PSG is expected to be emotionally charged, given the history between the player and the club.

SportsGalatasaray Finally Agree To Pay Napoli Release Clause To Land Osimhen by Zenzu01(op): 8:49am On Jul 09, 2025
Victor Osimhen’s long transfer saga is finally over, and freedom awaits the Super Eagles striker in Istanbul.

Galatasaray have agreed to pay the full €75 million release clause demanded by Napoli, paving the way for the Super Eagles star to make his blockbuster switch permanent.

Galatasaray meet Napoli’s demands after intense negotiations

According to reports from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, after weeks of back-and-forth and multiple bids turned down, Galatasaray have finally caved in and agreed to pay the full €75 million release clause in Victor Osimhen’s contract.

Napoli had remained firm throughout the negotiations, rejecting Galatasaray’s initial €60 million offer and holding out for the clause, which remains valid for foreign clubs until July 15.

Now, with the money on the table, the Turkish champions are set to land one of Europe’s most prolific strikers in a deal that makes a bold statement of intent both domestically and on the continental stage.

The move follows Osimhen’s outstanding loan spell in Istanbul during the 2024–25 season, where the 26-year-old scored an eye-watering 37 goals and registered eight assists across 41 games.

Four-year deal seals Osimhen’s new chapter in Istanbul

Galatasaray had made it clear that they were not willing to let such firepower slip through their fingers, especially after he helped them dominate Turkish football with a league and Cup double.

The Nigerian forward will now become one of the highest-paid players in Turkish football history, joining a side that gave him the platform to reignite his career after a chaotic end to his Napoli chapter.

With the paperwork expected to be completed swiftly, Osimhen’s move could be announced officially in the coming days, allowing him to join pre-season preparations early and lead the charge for Galatasaray’s next title defence.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Thomas Muller Bids Emotional Farewell To Bayern Munich After Club World Cup Exit by Zenzu01(op): 7:41am On Jul 07, 2025
German football icon Thomas Muller has played his final game for Bayern Munich, the only club he has represented in his career.

The curtain fell on his time with the Bavarian giants after their 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, with goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele sealing Bayern's elimination.

What Muller said

Despite the poignant occasion, a reflective Muller did not delve deeply into his emotions regarding his departure or his future career plans immediately after the match.

He said, "I'm still fully in work mode now. It doesn't feel much different from before the game when we tried, and I also tried, to just get one round further.”

Muller expressed a sense of injustice about the result, suggesting his team deserved more.

He added, "In the end, maybe we deserved more. But in football when you have these tight matches, it's sometimes a coin flip. And, yes, we lost it."

He acknowledged the gravity of the moment, but preferred to focus on the immediate aftermath of the defeat.

"Of course, I am aware that this was my last game, and I will see what goes through my head in the coming days. At the moment, I'm not in the mood to share my deeper thoughts about my career. We lost a big fight, a very important game for us,” he concluded.

Muller had announced earlier this year that he would be leaving Bayern Munich after the 2024-2025 season. Despite the Club World Cup exit, Bayern Munich did secure the 2024-2025 Bundesliga title, their 34th German championship, ensuring Muller adds one final domestic trophy to his extensive collection.

He leaves the club as their all-time record player with over 750 appearances, and also holds the record for most assists.

SportsSaga Over? Victor Osimhen Finally Accepts ₦28 Billion Salary To Leave Napoli by Zenzu01(op): 3:55pm On Jul 06, 2025
Victor Osimhen has been at the heart of transfer rumors all summer, but the Nigerian striker appears to have made his decision.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Osimhen is eager to turn his successful loan stint at Galatasaray into a permanent move.

The Super Eagles star has reportedly accepted a lucrative €16 million-per-year offer, according to CalcioMercato, signaling his intention to stay with the Turkish champions.

Galatasaray’s push to secure Osimhen permanently has gained momentum, with club sponsors ready to help meet his €75 million release clause at Napoli.

This choice might be unpopular among fans of Manchester United and Liverpool, who are in the market for a new striker. Ruben Amorim's Red Devils have been strongly linked to the 26-year-old but it appears they may have to look elsewhere.

Osimhen's reported choice is a sound one, as Galatasaray offers Champions League football, guaranteed playing time, and an adoring fanbase that reveres and adores him.

Most importantly, after the ex-Lille man scored 37 goals in 41 appearances while on loan last season, the fans know exactly what to expect, this time on a permanent basis.

Premier League giants Arsenal have taken a trip along memory lane to remember Super Eagles of Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu.

The Gunners official social media account commemorated a historic moment against London rivals Chelsea.

Arsenal celebrate Kanu

Kanu delivered a remarkable for Arsenal hat-trick against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

He was the spark turning a 2-0 deficit into a thrilling 3-2 victory back in October, 1999.

The clutch performance from Kanu was etched in Arsenal's history part of the 1999-2000 Premier League season

The Gunners were down two goals but the Nigerian scored three goals in the final 15 minutes of the game.

His first goal came in the 75th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

However, just four minutes later, he equalized with a clinical finish, making it 2-2.

For his third goal he outmaneuvered Chelsea's goalkeeper Ed de Goey outside the penalty area and slotted the ball into an empty net.

The post by Arsenal comes as the club is responded to serious allegations former player Thomas Partey, involving multiple counts of rape and sexual assault from 2021-2022.

Kanu who is now retired provided the Gunners with rich moments and highly regarded by the fans.

SportsPromising Nigerian Athlete Suspended For 2-years Over Whereabouts Failures by Zenzu01(op): 5:21pm On Jul 03, 2025
A promising Nigerian athlete has been handed a two-year ban by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) over whereabouts failures.

The 400m sensation Imaobong Uko, a student athlete at Baylor University, received the sanction for committing three whereabouts failures within 12 months - a violation of anti-doping regulations.

Uko was provisionally suspended on July 7, 2024, and her ineligibility will extend till July 23, 2026.

The youngster rose to prominence at just 14 years old by winning the 400m title at Nigeria’s National Sports Festival in 2018. She also cemented her status as a rising star by clinching gold in the 400m at the 2021 World U20 Championships.

At the senior level, Uko represented Nigeria in the mixed 4x400m relay at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Her third whereabouts failure occurred just before the 2024 Nigerian Championships, where she placed third in the 400m. Since then, she has not competed and was notably absent from the 2025 NCAA indoor and outdoor seasons, despite remaining on Baylor University’s roster.

The AIU did not disclose the specific circumstances surrounding Uko’s missed tests, but the case underscores the importance of compliance with anti-doping protocols, especially for young athletes navigating elite competition.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Messi Now Available As A Free Agent Amid Exit Claims by Zenzu01(op): 6:12am On Jul 03, 2025
Inter Miami star Lionel Messi now has only six months left on his contract, which means he is now available to negotiate with any club as a free agent.

Why Messi's contract situation is important

If Messi wants to remain at Inter Miami, his current status is not a source of concern for the Herons. The problem for the Miami-based side is that he is contemplating leaving.

As Pulse Sports reported, Messi is considering leaving the club when his contract expires to join a European club to help him get adequate physical preparation for the 2026 World Cup in an intense setting.

While Inter Miami immediately issued a counter report, expressing confidence in their negotiations with Messi's camp for a renewal, the Argentine now holds all the leverage.

The club he could join

There have been suggestions that the Serie A would be the ideal league for him, given the division's relationship with players in their advanced age. League champions Napoli would be a likely destination, given the Diego Maradona connection.

A return to Barcelona could also be on the cards. The Blaugrana are set to return to Camp Nou later this year. Given Messi's abrupt exit, there have been musings that Barcelona are planning to bring him back to give him a befitting farewell tour.

SportsThey Are Lying Against Osimhen In Italy — Expert Reveals by Zenzu01(op): 8:13am On Jul 02, 2025
Zeki Uzundurukan, a Turkish football analyst, said that Italian sports media are spinning false transfer stories claiming that Victor Osimhen will join Al Hilal.

He has already rejected Al Hilal

The 26-year-old has two main suitors at this stage of the transfer window: Galatasaray and Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

However, as Pulse Sports reported, he has already rejected an offer worth around €40 million a year from the Riyadh-based club. And by some accounts, they returned with an improved bid, which he turned down again, leaving his options open to European admirers.

Galatasaray, on the other hand, have received no such disappointing news from the Nigerian; however, he has not given a positive response either and is still stalling.

What Uzundurukan said

Zeki stated that Italian sources are misleading their audience by claiming Osimhen was amenable to an Al Hilal transfer, when in fact the opposite is true. Also, he expressed confidence in Galatasaray's ability to land the Nigerian.

"Osimhen and Okan Buruk have a phone conversation and say, 'We are waiting for you'. It was a very good conversation. Osimhen is already warm to Galatasaray,” Uzundurukan said, per GsGazette.

“They are also sorting out the financial issues with Napoli. All 3 sponsors will cover a large portion of the transfer fee. There will be striking developments in favour of Galatasaray this week. Al-Hilal has already made the necessary moves, and they will now withdraw.

“The Italian press is making up stories and saying he will go to the Arabs. It is a complete lie. If Osimhen had gone, he would have gone long ago, and Al-Hilal would have raised his offer already. If there had been no direct participation in the Champions League, he might not have stayed at Galatasaray.

“I think he will stay. I think Osimhen will join the Galatasaray camp and start the new season without missing too much training. If Osimhen has problems, they will meet with Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen."
