Pls what does a complete overhaul entail?

A complete overhaul entails, opening the engine, checking if there is clearance between the crankshaft and the connecting rod (2) checking the engine bearings (3). Changing the rings and grinding the valve of the top (4) changing of oil. Its a total checkup on the engine. Won't cost you much if you are around my shop at Port Harcourt.

Good day House. I have an Elepaq SV2200 which I must admit has been abused by my wife. It has been in use in the open come rain come sunshine for about 2yrs now. I just returned and found out it blows heavy smoke for like 2mins after start up and sound is extremely high. Engine oil completely dries up after an average of 13hrs of usage and will have to be refilled. Please what should I expect to change to bring this gen back to optimum state. Thanks

I would have said you change only the rings, but for fully efficiency, do a complete over hauling on that engine and get a maximum output.

Good morning prof, my friend just brought a small tiger generator (I better pass my neighbour) like 3 weeks ago but whenever he turn on the gen, the light is always doing as if it will go off going up and down; just as if the fuel is about to get finished but after like an hour, it will stabilize and sometime, it doesn't. what could be the problem and how do u think it can be fixed.

1) The carburetor might be faulty.
2) Try to increase the generator with a screw driver.

Good morning guys please help, my firman 1.8kva generator has stopped load like before, it can no longer carry fan together with others load like laptops and monitor. The mechanic has changed rings, crankshaft, armature and service the generator yet the problem still remains. When the normal load is applied, the generator starts fluctuating, cutting off power supply and giving it back. Please this frustrated me yesterday, how do I go about it?

Change the capacitor of that engine. Put 35uf.

Yes I do. I removed it last night and cleaned the soot debris on it. Still same issue.

I am thinking it might be the oil not enough. Cos when open it, it is not dripping out.

Besides, I just found out that when I wanted to drain the used oil the last time, I did not do it the right way. Instead of unscrewing to allow the oil drain itself underneath, I simply bending thr Gen to allow the oil drain through the opening where the oil is supposed to pass through

now since you have your plug spanner with you, loose the plug out, the insert the plug cap to the plug, after that take the plug which you have already inserted the plug cap close to the body of the engine, then pull your starter rope and watch closely to the tip of the plug to see if it produces spark.

What could wrong with this Gen, SPG 3000, a new Gen.

I started it, it was working, then few mins after it went off. Tried to start it again, not even coming up again. There is still fuel and I changed the oil yesterday.

What could be wrong please?

I have 1800 and 1900. The both are sumec fireman. My location is port Harcourt

So I took the advice here and ringed my generator and it longer drinks oil.

But the power is now low, even when I increase the output to over 220v,my fans are now too slow, the energy saving lights are normal. Initially, a full tank (5.5l) of petrol will last for 12 hours, but now it manages to last 9hrs. It is hard to start now, no longer enjoying it again. I would have left it and continued buying one liter of oil per month.

For the issue of the power being low, check your AVR. it might be faulty. for the issues of much consumption of fuel and hard starting; check the carburator and your valve settings. thanks

Hi guys
Please my tec juniormax has been misbehaving, works perfectly until recently, the gen would make some funny dead plug sound and switches off immediately

Once I clean the plug and restart, the gen would function a while and switches off again. I Bought two new plugs but same thing keep occuring however I discovered that a black smoke sort of would fill the plugs everything I remove them for cleaning

Please what could be the root cause and kindly proffer solution
