Sen Abbo Ishaku Exonerated In Sex Scandals: Wange Apologizes For False Allegations, Begs For Forgivenes

The appearance of Senator Ishaku Abbo and Mrs. Minso Kwagga Wange (Bright) on Ordinary President’s Brekete Family show over adult tapes (sex scandals) has laid to rest many high tempers, and a seemingly successful mediation by Ahmed Isah has ensured an end to the ugly trend of the sex saga.

Mrs. Minso, after hearing Senator Abbo’s side of the story, begged for forgiveness and apologized for all wrongs she had done to him. On the show, Mrs. Minso admitted that Senator Abbo had been good and supportive of her over the years.

Abbo made shocking revelations, backed by video clips documenting Mrs. Minso’s nude lifestyle, and revealed that she had been living a life of pornography, which was why he distanced himself from her in 2015 when they had a four-month relationship

Senator Elisha Abbo appeared on Tuesday to defend himself against allegations of revenge pornography, blackmail, and others made with classified documents. Abbo made shocking revelations, backed by video clips documenting Mrs. Minso’s nude lifestyle, and revealed that she had been living a life of pornography, which was why he distanced himself from her in 2015 when they had a four-month relationship.
The former federal lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the ninth assembly refuted all claims of having any sex affairs, stating that the viral video on social media was not him. Abbo’s appearance was streamed live on Facebook, during which he provided videos and documents to the show’s anchor, Ahmed Isah, aka Ordinary President, to prove his innocence.

That Mrs. Wange had spoken on Brekete Family show on Monday, claiming he had drugged her. However, in an earlier interview with Trust TV, she claimed he had sex with her when she was unmarried and released videos of their intimate moments to blackmail her

Abbo noted that Mrs. Wange had spoken on Brekete Family show on Monday, claiming he had drugged her. However, in an earlier interview with Trust TV, she claimed he had sex with her when she was unmarried and released videos of their intimate moments to blackmail her. “Wange has told different versions of the story, which clearly means she is lying,” Abbo told Ordinary President.

The former lawmaker, through his lawyers, had earlier issued a 72-hour ultimatum for her to apologize and withdraw the allegations.

The letter, written by his lawyer, read: “We have been instructed by our client to make a demand, and we hereby formally request that within 72 hours of receiving this letter, you publish or air an unequivocal public retraction and apology on national TV and in three national newspapers. The terms of this retraction must be approved by our firm, and we expect you to revert to us within 24 hours of receipt of this letter.”

Senator agreed to forgive her, citing his nature of not holding grudges against people

The letter added that failure to meet the deadline would result in legal action, including claims for libel, an injunction to prevent further publication, and a court-ordered public apology.

The Senator agreed to forgive her, citing his nature of not holding grudges against people.

PoliticsThe August National Hunger Protest And The New Norm Of Waving Russia’s Flag by Zibite(op): 1:53pm On Aug 06, 2024
The August National Hunger Protest And The New Norm of Waving Russia’s National Flag

By Manpaa Aliyu Musa Ph.D

It is no longer a news that on the 1st of August 2024 the Nigerian state has witnessed one of the most frightening mob tagged end Bad governance.
This protest that occurred in several cities across the 36 states of the federation and the federal capital territory Abuja is organised by coalition of civil society organisations and other international support groups across the globe.

Although the protest is in response to age long neglect of the citizenry by those entrusted with the position of authority, most especially the bizarre way and manner in which public officials and their cronies have perpetually abused the common wealth for their comfort and that of their families and friends at the expense of the conventional practice of providing common good from the common wealth based on common humanity or to borrow from the utilitarian’s ensuring greatest happiness to the greatest number of greatest majority .

The most immediate trigger of the protest however is the negative multiplier effects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubus implementation of the Bretton woods Institutions, policy reform i.e. the neo structural Adjustment programmes.
Of particular interest is the withdrawal of government subsidy on premium motor spirits popularly known in Nigerian parlance as fuel subsidy on the day of his inauguration as president of the federal republic of Nigeria on the 29th May 2023.
This was followed by the withdrawal of subsidy on electricity and unification of forex market. These major policy decisions by the APC led National Government have undermined the energy security derive which is the popular aspiration of every country and region globally.
By energy security we mean the association between national security and the availability of natural resources for energy consumption. i.e. the capacity of a sovereign state like Nigeria to guarantee sufficient, uninterrupted and affordable manner for the entire population. energy security has four 4 A + availability, accessibility, acceptability and affordability.

The cumulative negative consequences of this unpopular decision by the federal government has triggered inflation, exchange rate volatility with corresponding backlash on poverty, hunger, unemployment and inequality in wealth distribution to an unacceptable level.
It is our constant belief that for every government anywhere to be successful it most ask itself certain questions such as what is happening to poverty in the land ?, what is happening to hunger?, what is happening to unemployment among the youths ? and above all what is happening to the disproportionate distribution of vital societal resource and values among its citizenry? These questions are not mere academic rhetoric but a guide to every responsible government in designing its road maps and programmes for sustainable development.

Although the above issues raised are key, but the motivation to this piece is the inundated calls, I have received from many quarters questioning the import of the Russian national flag that has suddenly taken over the centre stage of the protest most especially in the core northern states of Nigeria.
In a simplified word the use of Russian flag was to attract international sympathy to the protesters.
But again, why Russia? In answering this question, we need to digress and dive deep into history.

First and foremost, between 1967 and 1970 Nigeria fought 30 months of needless, avoidable, senseless yet the most devastating civil that sent many young Nigerians with bright future aspiration into untimely grave. The civil war was fought between the federal government led by General Yakubu Gowon a Christian northerner and the agitators for the Republic of Biafra led by Col. Odumegu Chukwu Emeka Ojukwu from the south east Nigeria. During this war while most of the world supers supported the Biafran agitators the then Soviet Union today Russia is the major supporter of the Federal government of Nigeria . This has significant bounded Russia with northern Nigeria.

Secondly, in the renewed agitation for the republic of Biafra the Biafran’s always flaunt Israeli flag and there is no doubt that both UK and US are die/hard Israeli ally and thus the north that is predominantly Muslims feel insecure in the hand of UK and US should the protest escalates to full blown violence and collapse of the central government and eventual state collapse .

Thirdly is the ongoing violence in the middle east with the average northern Muslims sympathising with the state of Palestine where as both UK and US support the Zionist regime in Israel.

Lastly, the north has many things in common with the Republic of Niger and would want Russia to support Military intervention akin to what happened in Niger, Mali and Burkinafaso.

PoliticsMy Final Musings On Smear Campaign On The Person Of Speaker Adamawa State HA by Zibite(op): 9:02am On Jun 13, 2024
Government is second only to God Almighty. Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley is in government, not only as a member representing us, but as Speaker of the house of assembly. As speaker, he is technically the number 2 citizen of Adamawa state. The deputy governor being number 2 is just ceremonial because vital decisions concerning the state is taken by the governor and the speaker. Even for this, he deserve full respect from every citizen of Hong LG. I see some people are ignorant of this.

Launching a campaign of calumny against the person of Mr. Speaker to the point of leveling such grievous unsubstantiated allegations on him amounts to challenging the judgement of the millions of people who believed in his vision, and this will be resisted by them. Moreover, some wily guy may capitalize on this and possibly initiate legal proceedings.

He can never claim to know Mr. Speaker more than the multitude of people who voted him in 2019 and returned him in 2023. It is on record that when the PDP, a hitherto faceless and seemingly insignificant group at that time was wrestling power from the incumbent in 2019, he was not on the scene because he was then working for SDP. Him and the group he claim to have founded came into existence afterwards Mr. Speaker won his elections.

This group became successful and acceptable because it is Mr. Speaker's name tag and not he's. So what he is doing now is nothing other than destroying the very house he built, while watching the house collapse on his head. He is only undoing himself and not Mr. Speaker.

Bathiya 5G Network and EMNAMU Foundation have never operated on the same pedestal, neither have they been in any competition to outshine or even overshadow each other. One is purely a political organization while the other is a humanitarian organization. Attempting to pitch them against each other for personal gains will only be an exercise in futility.

No individual, no matter how strong or highly placed can fight government and succeed. Fighting Mr. Speaker is fighting government. And as a government employee that he is, he should know that his active participation in politics is guided and limited by law. The way he is going, he might be approaching his necking point. He should be wise enough not to jeopardize, truncate or even sacrifice his budding career at the altar of his own ego.

After fighting the APC to a standstill, PDP stalwarts in Hong LG should use their remaining strength to consolidate their success for the good of all and not to use it to fight themselves, unless if there are moles amongst them. The enemy is still lurking around and would be eager and happy to devour the spoils of your internal wars.

PoliticsA Word For My Fellow Comrade In The Struggle Tsamari Fakuta Naiwa by Zibite(op): 1:15pm On Jun 06, 2024
In the spirit of comradeship I am compelled to write to you and I hope this meet you in good health. Before anything, you can personally attest that my respect and admiration for you knows no bounds and so I have no reservation for your person, choice or ideology. To buttress this, below is what I wrote on you on April 27, 2023 when Gov Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and Rt Hon Speaker Bathiya Wesley emerged winners of 2023 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections respectively:

" SALUTING Tsamari Naiwa Fakuta : THE GREATEST GRASSROOT MOBILIZER OF OUR TIME
His name is Tsamari Naiwa Fakuta . You may not like the way he do his things, but he is definitely one of the greatest grassroot mobilizers of our time and modern history. A go-getter who you must salute his doggedness displayed in the just concluded 2023 elections.
He is the Founder BATHIYA 5G NETWORK, a political pressure group that majorly mobilize the grassroot through educating and sensitizing the masses on good governance and representation.
Bathiya 5G Network is found in all settlements in Hong LG and diaspora. It has more than 50 registered groups and more than 35,000 active members. Fakuta is the total brain box behind this, driven by his passion for good governance and his unflinching loyalty to Hon Bathiya Wesley Member Representing Hong Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The grassroots are the ordinary people out there found in nook and cranny of our society. Usually they are regarded as inconsequential in politics and that is why you hear of Abuja connection, Cabals etc. Fakuta have another view on the grassroots politically. He thinks the grassroots should be the key decision makers since it is all about representing them. A bottom to up, rather than top to down kind of a thing. This thought, he have utilized various strategies from registering voters to simply encouraging political participation that will bring the change we so richly desire, which yielded fruit as evidenced in the votes Hong produced for PDP.
It is on this that I write to salute this unsung hero today. A reliable lieutenant and a strategist who only God can reward. Keep soaring higher and higher and higher Comrade!
Hyelazibite Kurwizi Welye writes from Wurodole, Hong."

Now, it was imperative that I draw your attention back to the above piece because it will serve as a basis for my writing now. Where, you deserved to be praised, I did and where I feel in the spirit of comradeship I should draw your attention I would.

So basically I will address three major issues in my writing: your dashed hope of becoming Council Chairman Hong LG and the power play, narcissistic smear campaign on the person of Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley, your supposed new allegiance and other sundry matters.

Your Dashed Hope of Becoming Council Chairman of Hong LG and the Power Play
It is my humble opinion that today you are among top five people in Hong who deserves to be the chairman of the local government. I think I have given enough reasons to back that above. In fact it is what prompted me to begin to do a piece on your achievement from time to time on this space. As usual, there are many who share this sentiment with me especially your apologists who believe in your cause.
You made your intention known to your boss Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley and inside sources revealed that he told you that it is his desire for your dream to come true and in fact if it is left to him alone, there's no problem but there are other Hong Stakeholders also to decide.
Don't forget this same Hong is where the Senator representing Adamawa Central and House Representative member Representing Hong/Gombi Federal Constituency among other stakeholders come from. Their interest must be sought after.
Later after consultation, your boss told you to drop your ambition for now as there is a direction stakeholders want to follow for many reasons given.
Everyone agrees that it was within his power to have told you to do so and you should obey especially as you were relying on him as his candidate. That is the genesis of everything- your disobedience to your boss. Thereafter you went on doing everything contrary to what you were told. He drew your attention, you refused and continued.
What baffles me till today is that, you have done everything for him including sacrifices to a point of almost taking a bullet for him. So why was this directive a hard thing for you to obey? Honestly I need an answer to this! This is your boss we are talking about. Ordinarily when he says stand up, you should stand, when he says sit down, you should sit. This is basics in politics of godfatherism.
Even you want that your orders to your subordinates are carried out to the fullest. Who doesn't want that? Did you wanted to set your boss against other stakeholders which there will be dare consequences? Or doesn't it matter to you? In this regard your boss was right and you wrong.
Then came your narcissistic smear campaign on the person of Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley.
The unprintable names with which you called your former boss and the insults you hurled on him because you fallout with him is rather unfortunate and condemnable. Haba! Where is your conscious! Where is your common decency and good morals. If you don't have any ounce of respect for him, what about the position he is occupying today? You could also be there tomorrow, do you want to be treated in that way?
Speaking on someone's personal life in public is very wrong especially with intent to malign him. Even God doesn't like that and there's consequences. Who are you to judge like you holy pass?
This is someone who have nothing but goodwill for you. In the past he helped you! His crime against you was telling you to step down for someone for now, something beyond his control. You put your ambition above norms, values and over anything and as you can't have it, let there be no peace. Come on! Things are not done that way. Please seek his genuine forgiveness and apologize.
Dr Emmanuel N Musa President and Founder Emnamu Foundation who you want to flaunt now as your new boss, until now that you have parted ways with your former boss, you loathed him and his Foundation with passion. There is no gainsaying that! Nobody manipulated you to do so. In fact you use to say Bathiya 5G is greater than Emnamu Foundation. I personally heard you say so.
You are only coming to know about Emnamu Foundation and it's good humanitarian work lately and that is because your selfish interest is at stake. We have been members since day one and greatly benefited. Personally, job was secured for my younger sister with NSCDC, her transport to Abuja was paid to and fro with accommodation and feeding provided for her and she was given recognition during documentation and training, thanks to Emnamu Foundation.
Again sometimes last year when flood ravaged some communities in Guyuk LG and I brought the cry to Emnamu Foundation, immediately I was provided with 200 bags of rice, 30 bags of beans, 30 bags of maize, mattresses and cartons of soap and blankets as relief materials which we distributed to affected communities. Till today we are still grateful! Why am I saying all these, because I am a member of Emnamu foundation and I know the smiles the foundation have put on millions of people's faces and I can't sit and watch you come and want to politicize what we do for your personal beef. Emnamu Foundation is above any selfish interest. Had you been allowed to run for the chairmanship by your former boss, would you have joined us in Emnamu Foundation?
You came and you are selling a narrative that Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley hates Dr Emmanuel N Musa for your personal gains. Can't you guys eat without causing confusion and chaos? Haba!
That's a fat lie! Where did Speaker said so? Speaker hold Dr in high esteem and supports anything he does. When my younger sister were training in Federal Secretariat, Speaker paid them a surprised visit, he told them( trainees Dr Emma got job for ) to always thank Dr and pray for him because job is something else in the country today and dashed them money. Does this person looks like the person who hates Dr Emma. We should stop creating war where there is no war. Let's live in peace and harmony.
Your treacherous tendencies will of course be mentioned to Dr Emma and in fact and we at Emnamu Foundation we will sanitize our house to rid off people who want to manipulate us and use us. We are non political humanitarian group and our president must be accorded that and not dragged into any unnecessary trivial selfish pursuit. He is a man of peace!
God bless Rt Hon Speaker Bathiya Wesley
God bless Dr Emmanuel N Musa

EducationRe: ABSU Lecturer Proposes To Student In Lecture Hall On Valentine's Day by Zibite(m): 2:11pm On Feb 15, 2024
This is the most absurd thing I have ever seen on this space. A lecturer engaging his female student during lectures and in front of other students. Haba! Having a romantic relationship with a teacher breaches this trust in the teacher-student relationship, regardless of the matter of consent. Such a relationship could pose potential threats to the emotional well-being of the student, compromise the student's performance at school and open doors to further exploitation. This is how question papers leaked! Honestly I am disappointed! To display this crass act in front of students is what annoys the most honestly. For God sake as a teacher, your student is your child and you a parent. This is basics in the teaching profession.
This lecturer should be tried summarily and dismissed with immediate effect. I expect the school management to vehemently condemn this act also and warn of such future occurrence. TRCN should withdraw his license as a matter of fact!
When a female soldier violated the Nigerian Army’s rules and regulations guiding the codes of conduct of military personnel when deployed for duty and was engaged by a Corper, the military not only immediately arrested her but detained and punished her. We expect the same with Abia State University on the case of their lecturer engaging a student in a classroom while teaching. Was he employed to teach or date his student? Is the classroom a love nest or where knowledge and morality is inculcated into students.

Car TalkTribute To Late Baba Musa Diyari Hong By Zibite Kurwizi Welye by Zibite(op): 4:04pm On Feb 05, 2024
On 28th Jan 2024, our sister Usaku Haziel changed her Facebook profile picture to that of a candle burning. Immediately I saw it, I knew something was wrong. As it was just a picture without a caption, I immediately messaged her and asked who died. She said Baba Musa Diyari. I was short of breath! I was like, what? Who? Baba Diyari? Oh no! This can't be true! This good man? Dead? Up to today I can't describe that feeling.
I wanted to deny the reality of what I am being told but as hours passed by and his pictures and tributes dominated my Facebook Newsfeed, I was increasingly being confronted with the brutal realization that Baba Musa Diyari have indeed answered the ultimate call.
He was a great man!
One of the most remarkable aspects of Baba Diyari's character was his unwavering integrity. He believed deeply in doing what was right, not what was easy. His principles were the compass that guided his decisions, both in his public and private life. He stood firm in his beliefs, even in the face of adversity, and his moral fortitude was a beacon of inspiration for all who knew him.
Baba Diyari was also a man of profound humanity. He had an innate ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His empathy knew no bounds – he listened, he cared, and he acted. He was involved in numerous charitable endeavors and was always the first to lend a helping hand to those in need. His generosity was not limited to material contributions; he gave his time, his wisdom, and, most importantly, his heart.
As a mentor and leader, he was incomparable. He nurtured and inspired those around him, encouraging them to reach their full potential. He was not just a mentor in words but in actions, leading by example and showing what it means to be a leader of character, competence, and compassion.
His sense of humor and zest for life were contagious.
Baba Diyari had a unique way of finding joy in the simple things. He believed in the power of laughter, the importance of friendship, and the value of creating lasting memories. His presence was a source of joy and comfort, and his laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of those who heard it.
Even in facing life's ultimate challenge, his illness, he exhibited a strength and grace that were profoundly moving. He faced his final days with the same dignity, courage, and concern for others that characterized his entire life. In doing so, he taught us one final, invaluable lesson: the true essence of strength is found not in physical prowess but in the unwavering spirit and the capacity to face adversity with grace.
As we bid farewell to this great man, let us honor his memory by emulating the virtues he embodied. Let us strive to live with integrity, to act with kindness, and to make a positive impact on the world, just as he did. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives.
To Baba Musa Diyari thank you for the wisdom you imparted, the love you shared, and the exemplary life you led. You were more than just a great man; you were a beacon of hope, a pillar of strength, and a source of endless inspiration.
Rest in peace, Ada. Your journey on this earth may have ended, but your spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know you.
Thank you

PoliticsHow Ganduje Made Tinubu Dropped Maryam Shetty As Minister Nominee by Zibite(op): 5:04pm On Aug 05, 2023
The power play

Daily Trust Saturday confirmed from multiple sources that the immediate past governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who on Thursday emerged as the new national chairman of the ruling APC, nominated Bunkure, his former commissioner to replace Shetty.

Ganduje’s associates told our correspondent that the real power play that led to the swapping of Shetty with Bunkure is that she does not belong to the political family of the former governor. It was suspected that her name was “smuggled” into the list by a senior member of the presidency.
It was gathered that Ganduje was informed that the slot Shetty used to make the list should have gone to him; hence he was asked to nominate a replacement. This is more so as the other nominee from Kano, Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, is Tinubu’s associate from their days in the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). Thus, after Ganduje emerged as the national chairman of the party on Thursday at the party’s 12th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting and got the information that the president had been ‘misled’ in nominating Shetty, he started the process of “righting the wrongs,” his associates said.
The president was surprised that the nomination of Shetty did not come from Ganduje, one of the sources said, adding that “the people that nominated her showed a picture she took with the former Kano governor to the president to make it look like she was in his group”.

On the manner in which the replacement was communicated, one of the associates of Ganduje said it was the president’s way of communicating to those that “smuggled” Shetty’s name into the list to know that he was in charge and was not happy.

“It was also to communicate that the national chairman has the hearing ears of the president, and it is a warning to whoever smuggled her name into the list,” he said.
Kano is one of the strategic states the ruling party hopes to regain, and with the breakdown in talks with Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, whose New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) controls Kano, analysts said Tinubu may have concluded on consolidating his push for the state through the Ganduje camp.

However, sources close to Shetty said that aside the insinuation that the young politician was reportedly nominated by the chief of staff to the president, another reason Ganduje sought and secured her replacement was because she had been vocal in the past against some of his policies when he held sway as governor, including the controversial deposition of former Emir Muhammadu Sanusi.
“Perhaps the insinuation that she was nominated by the chief of staff gained momentum because Shetty is Abuja-based although she is from Kano. This might be the reason the Kano APC family was not happy with her nomination.

“Another reason is that she is close with former Emir Muhammadu Sanusi and she was very vocal against his removal. You know she is very popular on social media, where she champions several causes, including women’s rights,” one of her associates in Kano who asked not to be named, told Daily Trust Saturday.
Nairaland GeneralKatsina Man Divorces 14-year-old Wife For Allowing Male Doctor Attend To Her by Zibite(op): 10:22am On Jul 28, 2023
KATSINA MAN DIVORCES 14-YEAR-OLD WIFE FOR ALLOWING MALE DOCTOR ATTEND TO HER
A man in Katsina State has reportedly divorced his 14-year-old housewife for allowing a male medical practitioner to attend to her while giving birth to his baby.

The Executive Director, Nana Women and Girls Initiative, Dr Fatima Adamu, disclosed on Thursday.

According to the activist, the teenage mother, who was divorced by her husband, was said to have had a complicated childbirth, resulting in being rushed to the hospital where there was no female medical practitioner on the ground to attend to her.

As a result, the only male medical practitioner available attended to her during labour, a development that led to the crash of her marriage.

Although the lady was said to have given birth successfully, her husband’s joy was cut short when he rushed to the hospital to realise that the medical practitioner that attended to the wife during labour was a male. Peeved by the development, he subsequently divorced his wife.

Adamu who was featured as a keynote speaker at the Human Resources for Health Production Dialogue, appealed to governments, especially state governments to ensure there was equity in the recruitment and deployment of medical personnel to rural communities.

The event which was organised with a view to revolutionising the country’s healthcare system, had stakeholders calling for accountability and prudence in healthcare training institutions.

Adamu, who has over 15 years of engaging and advocating for an increase in the production of nurses and midwives in the country, insisted that governments, especially state governments need to take up the responsibility to produce their own health workers as according to her, “there is no short cut about it.”

“A 14- year old Fulani girl in Katsina State delivered and had difficulty with delivery, so we had to take her to the hospital and after the delivery, the husband divorced her because she was attended by a man. This young girl was divorced all because she was attended by a man during delivery,” she lamented.

The women’s rights activists lamented that Nigeria was producing medical doctors far below its need.

“There is shortage of health workers despite the production. We are producing health workers far below our needs. Our average population growth is 3.2, but our annual production of nurses and midwives is 2.6, so definitely, there is gap. That is the latest data available that could be accessed,” she added.

PoliticsPlot To Impeach Kaduna Governer Nasir Elrufai Thickens by Zibite(op): 6:39am On Aug 21, 2022
EXCLUSIVE:

Lawmakers commence impeachment moves against Gov El-Rufai over corruption allegations

by Times Report
20 August, 2022

Plans to impeach Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, are now underway, Quest Times can exclusively and authoritatively report.

In separate chats with our reporter, members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly disclosed that moves to impeach El-Rufai have now reached an advanced stage.

The relationship between the governor and the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Alhaji Yusuf Zailani, has been frosty for quite some time now, Quest Times has learnt.

State lawmakers are currently investigating the expenditures of all the ministries, agencies and parastatals of the state government.

One legislator tells Quest Times on condition of anonymity, that the lawmakers have already established 11 prima facie grounds of corruption against Governor El-Rufai.

“We are currently undertaking oversight function on all ministries, agencies and parastatals. The reason for this oversight function is to get cast-iron, fool-proof alibi to impeach the governor.

“We have already uncovered mind-blowing corruption. One of such discoveries is the award of contracts without due process and the discovery of how Governor El-Rufai awarded contracts to his cronies and family members without due process or advertisements.

“We have also uncovered attempts by Governor El-Rufai to collect an N80B loan from one of the commercial banks, without the knowledge of the State Assembly.

“The lawmakers, upon finding out, have already written to the bank against granting such a loan,” one lawmaker who pleaded that his name be left out of this story, confided in Quest Times.

Relationship with Speaker gone sour
Quest Times also gathered that several attempts by the El-Rufai administration to impeach the speaker, who has since fallen out with the governor, have been unsuccessful, as majority of the lawmakers vowed to stand with the speaker.

“The lawmakers have even taken oaths with the Bible and the Qur’an not to ever visit the Government House for any reason and to also stand with the speaker,” another source adds.

Quest Times also gathered that Deputy Speaker, Dr. Isaac Auta, recently dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and has pitched tent with Peter Obi’s Labour Party, thereby swelling the ranks of the opposition in the House to 15.

Speaker Zailani fell out with the governor for many reasons, chief of which was the way and manner APC Governorship candidate for the 2023 vote, Sen. Uba Sani, was forced on party members, Quest Times learnt.

“There was a time the security personnel attached to the speaker were all removed. The speaker had to run to Abuja before his operatives were restored.

“I can confirm to you that moves to impeach the governor are real, the lawmakers are working seriously on this. They want to present water-tight evidence. They are not happy with the way and manner the governor has been running Kaduna State,” the source adds.

Kaduna residents have long accused the House of being a shameless “rubber stamp” since the emergence of El-Rufai as Governor of the State in 2015.

A former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 62-year-old El-Rufai is due to complete his constitutionally permissible two-terms of eight years in office in 2023.

Attempts to speak to the governor or any of his aides for a reaction to this story proved futile, as calls and text messages dispatched where neither responded to nor returned.
PoliticsWhy We Need A President Who Use The Social Media by Zibite(op): 4:52pm On Jul 31, 2022
My thoughts on why we need a president who use the social media

Many Nigerians were surprised that Major General Buhari our C-in-C wasn't aware that terrorists vowed to kidnap him until Elrufai told him almost nearly a week later. He was not even aware of the Kaduna-Abuja train kidnapping that is more than 120 days before he was informed by someone who came all the way from Kaduna. Simply put: these guys near(with) him in Abuja don't tell him anything! Of course if you have been following him closely, he is always not aware of some of the things that Nigeria as a country is passing through under his watch and that is why he is always SHOCKED when he later know after public outcry. Sometimes amidst national burning issues he will be traveling and attending functions that are irrelevant. The reason is simply that he is not aware. ASUU strike that is nearly a year now, it is not long it came to his knowledge. There are many instances in which the president is "not aware" and don't blame him please. I will tell you why. The person he is, the newspaper he read and the TV station he watch is controlled by aides and all are usually pro government news outlets. If he doesn't read it and didn't watch it on TV, how will he be aware especially when he is surrounded by overzealous aides who always shield information from him.
Had he been using social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter by himself which most Nigerians used, nothing will escape him as he will be informed firsthand. There he will watch and read happenings as they take place by himself without relying on his aides. He would have been aware of the threat to kidnap him and aware of everything in country today.
The social media have come to play a role in good governance and we must embrace it by electing people who use it especially those who want to contest for the office of the president of Nigeria.
CrimeUK Court Denies Ekweremadu And Wife Bail, Orders Them Be Remanded by Zibite(op): 5:41pm On Jun 23, 2022
Court denies Ekweremadu and wife bail, orders them to be remanded in custody and adjourned the case till July

The Uxbridge Magistrate Court in London has denied bail to former Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice over claims that they trafficked a 15-year-old boy from Lagos to the UK with the intent to harvest his organ.

According to Arise TV, the prosecutors at the court this afternoon, said the Ekweremadu's were being charged for bringing the 15-year-old boy from Nigeria to the UK with the claim that he was to be given a better life in the UK but was actually to harvest his organ. The prosecutors told the court that the former Senate President procured a passport for the boy and claimed he was 21 years old but discovered that he was 15 years old.

The prosecutors also told the court that the Ekweremadu's have a daughter who has a kidney-related disease and has been on dialysis for quite some time. They told the court that it is believed that the plan was to use an organ from the boy on their daughter who appears to need a kidney transplant.

Ekweremadu and his wife had separate legal representations and prayed the court to release them on bail but their prayer was however dismissed by the Magistrate. The couple has surrendered their passports to the UK government.

The couple was arrested at Heathrow airport, on their way to Istanbul, Turkey and according to the prosecutors, it is believed that they were on their way to procure another organ as they were unable to harvest the organ of the boy. The prosecutors also stated that $20, 000 was found on Mr. Ekweremadu.

According to AriseTV, the red flag the organ was not harvested after the boy truthfully disclosed his age to the doctors at the Royal Free hospital. in the UK. The doctor canceled the procedure and the boy was immediately taken into the custody of the family who according to the prosecutors treated him like a slave until he escaped and found his way to the police where an investigation started, leading to the arrest of the couple.

After much deliberation, the Magistrate ordered their remand in custody till July 7 for the next hearing on the case.

Disgraced "Super Cop" Abba Kyari: A Man Blessed With Good Luck

Abba Kyari is the most luckiest man walking on the planet earth today. Despite his many sins, the disgraced cop has been afforded due process of law. He is having his days in court. Tragically, many Nigerians who were arrested by the dreadful IGP Intelligence Response Team were never afforded due process of law by him. Many suspects arrested by Kyari are no where to be found. Even the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has summoned Kyari to explain the disappearance of some missing persons arrested by Kyari. Today he's afforded due process of law, he have access to his lawyers and family and friends. He's allowed to change to his favorite dress and shoes(including facemasks) to appear in court (remember Kanu, even the judge had to ordered that she does not want to see him in his Fendi dress again which have become his uniform); no handcuffs, no mug shot, not remanded in prison, gets medical attention and enjoy so many privileges. He was even blocking his critics on social media from detention which means he is allowed to use his phone. Which of Abba Kyari's suspects enjoyed this? A fight is being put up by his lawyers to not freeze his ill-gotten wealth so if he eventually come out he will enjoy it. This is why he is the luckiest man to ever walk on the planet earth. I pity the system that created this seriously.

It’s Surprising I Became A Bandit – Turji

A notorious bandit, Bello Turji, has opened up on his past, leading to his becoming one of the most dreaded bandits terrorising communities, especially in the northwestern part of Nigeria.

Bandits like Turji have been terrorising villages in northern Nigeria for years, killing thousands of people and displacing a lot more. They also engage in isolated and mass abductions, including students in at least 10 schools in less than a year.

In a recent report, Daily Trust chronicled how hundreds of thousands of villagers had been displaced from their settlements, with many of them seeking refuge in Niger Republic and other Nigerian cities as governments in the affected states fail to provide camps for displaced persons.

In an exclusive chat aired as part of a Trust TV documentary, tagged ‘Nigeria’s Banditry: The Inside Story,’ Turji, who hails from Fakai village of Shinkafi Local Government in Zamfara State, however, said it was unbelievable to people who knew him that he strayed into the criminal activity.

In separate clips streamed at an event to premier the documentary in Abuja on Friday, Turji said his first experience of slaughtering a human being was on a market day at Shinkafi.

“I hadn’t taken up arms by then. I was herding cattle. Then, if my father wanted to sell any of his cows, I would take it to the market for him. After I sold it I would come to the emir’s compound before returning home in the evening.

“The Emir of Shinkafi knows me. He knew me from many years ago. If he is told that Turji would become a bandit he would not believe it because he knew we Fulani could not become rustlers. But it was what they were doing to us that became unbearable.”

Turji’s claim was in reference to the activities of community self-help volunteer force called Yan Sakai, whose ruthlessness, he said, made him and some other Fulani youths to become bandits.

A researcher in the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Dr Abubakar Siddique-Mohammed, interviewed as part of the 29-minute documentary, acknowledged that the activities of the volunteer force inflamed the banditry problem across the affected states.

In the ethnic tension brought out by the documentary, both sides of the conflict had engaged in ruthless killings over the claim of self protection or vengeance.

Speaking on restrictions placed in September last year to suppress the activities of the bandits, Turji said, “It is not right to deny Fulani entry into Shinkafi; it’s a local government for all citizens. If you deny Fulani entry, where are they supposed to go?

“If you buy just a measure of maize, they confiscate it; or if you buy a loaf of bread they will say you are buying it for Turji. Is it only Turji who eats out of all the people here?

“Let me ask you; isn’t this a gun? Is it those who failed to prevent the circulation of arms in Nigeria that will prevent us from buying petrol, which even a little kid knows where it can be obtained?”

The bandits’ leader recounted an attack on his family, saying, “Over 1,000 cattle were taken away from us. On that day, six of our little siblings were killed.

“Our parents went through all the courts, but they couldn’t get back their cattle. They also connived with Yan Sakai and slaughtered my uncle. Where then does a commoner seek redress?”

He also accused Yan Sakai volunteers of connivance with security agents to harass and extort the Fulani.

“They arrest innocent people and lock them up, and if you ask, they say it is because of corn stalks. You will be fined N500,000, and you must pay, for fear of incarceration.

“I will swear with the Qur’an that the Emir of Shinkafi knows about this. My father was involved in a court case for seven years over corn stalks. Just for corn stalks!”

Turji denounced connections between bandits liking him with Boko Haram elements, saying they have no political agenda.

“We are not interested in establishing any religious organisation. We are not aspiring to have a territory of our own, and we don’t have any political aspiration. We took up arms to protect the lives of our people that are being killed, it is not just because we are merciless or we are unconscious of Allah who created us.”

Some of the victims recalled horrendous experiences from bandits who attacked their communities.

Zainab Ibrahim from Zurmi, whose child was killed and she was abducted and held for two months, recounted her experience.

“Three of them picked my husband and left with him. I was surrounded by six men with their AK rifles and headlamps

“I was sleeping when they grabbed me and my son. They were told he (my husband) had escaped and they said there was no problem since they had us

“My son and I held tight to each other. One of them said, ‘Bring him here so that we slaughter him or we shoot two of them.’

“They snatched him from me. He was crying, I was crying too. By the time they seized him I passed out. They laid down him and slaughtered him.”

A young girl identified as Hauwa said her parents were killed when the bandits stormed their house to rob her father.

Speaking during the screening of the documentary in Abuja, experts and stakeholders called for genuine dialogue and the involvement of the traditional institutions to tackle banditry in parts of the country.

The event, organised by the Media Trust Limited and the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), featured a panel discussion and open mic conversation on the banditry problem

‘Abuja solutions not enough’

A panel discussant and lecturer from the Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Dr Murtala Rufai, maintained that solutions being proffered in Abuja, the seat of power would not end banditry in the North-West.

Rufai disclosed that bandits see themselves as freedom fighters who have an axe to grind with the government.

The university don called on the federal government to ensure that traditional institutions are empowered to oversee their domains as it was in the past.

He said, “The problem of rural banditry in Zamfara and other places in the North-West is actually a fundamental and basically a local problem. In my opinion, it is a local problem that actually requires a local solution.

‘Reveal funding sources’

On its part, the Kaduna State Government insisted that the bandits were criminals hell-bent on destroying peace in the country.

The Commissioner for Internal Security and Home affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who was part of the screening, reiterated the state government’s position that it would not negotiate with the criminals.

He said it was high time the economic activities of the bandits were probed to know how they are being funded, which gives them easy access to arms and ammunition.

Dialogue with hardened criminals a waste of time – Dambazzau

In the same vein, a former Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazzau, faulted claims made by the bandits’ kingpin, Turji, saying dialogue with hardened criminals is a waste of time.

He explained that the criminal groups had links, and they should not use their situation to victimise innocent travellers or motorists if they have genuine cases.

“I think there is the need to distinguish between those criminals and those who are genuinely struggling for whatever is happening to them.

“There is a need to distinguish between them if you say there should be dialogue. This is because you can’t dialogue with hardened criminals.

“If people have genuine cases you can sit down and dialogue with them and know precisely what their problems are and how to sort them out,” he said.

A Media Trust director, Mannir Dan Ali, in his welcome address, explained that the documentary was meant to understand the issue of insecurity, particularly banditry across the regions.

“This is something that has been there for quite a while. And we are still grappling with its implications and what it means for not just Nigeria, but the Sahel region as well. And probably Africa at large,” Dan-Ali said.

He also commended the CDD for the collaboration with MTL, comprising the newspapers and the Trust TV, the television arm of the MTL.

Also, the Deputy High Commissioner, British High Commission (BHC), Gill Atkinson, represented by the conflict adviser, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Sophie Stephen, said the FCDO had been supporting the CDD and partners in this project.

She noted that they were collaborating with the CDD on a project called Strengthening the Delivery of Peace and Security. She said the project aimed to counter misinformation and promote evidence-based sensitive discussions, public discourse and reporting to try to promote peace and social cohesion in Nigeria.

“I am representing a foreign government, which is very happy to be a close partner in Nigeria and others. And on behalf of the UK, I want to express first our deep sympathy with some of the events of this documentary,” she said.

According to her, as a human being she stands with the country, and is often saddened by some of the events being witnessed.

She also commended reporters who risked their lives to get these stories.

“I really hugely respect and admire your work and that of others here who are doing that to try and find the truth of some of these very complex and multi layers of situations.

“My hope is that it would inspire new approaches, ideas and ways that would ultimately bring peace to the people affected,” she added.
