CelebritiesTop 15 Nigerian Celebrity Baby Mamas by zion69(op): 11:00am On Jul 13, 2018
In our entertainment industry, the only thing that’s competing with Nigerian entertainment going global now with the likes of Paul Pogba and the French national team dancing Shaku Shaku, school children dancing Shoki in Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” video, is the ever-rising trend of baby mamas.

There are so many baby mamas right now that it’s almost too hard to keep track of, however, after a little digging, here are 15 celebrity baby mamas (some popular and some you wouldn’t believe), in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Check them out in the video below:

Rick Ross and Jay Z’s Roc Nation are being sued for allegedly stealing the infamous Maybach Music tagline from another rapper, according to TMZ

Ishaq R. Muhammad, who goes by the stage name Young Muhammad, claims he and Rozay worked on “Caprice Music” together in 2007, a track that Ross was heard repeating the phrase.

Muhammad claims this birthed the “Maybach Music” catchphrase the MMG boss has been using ever since — with no credit to him.

Ross released “Maybach Music” in 2008 and subsequently launched his group using the same tagline in 2009, but Muhammad claims he trademarked “Caprice Music” in 2006.

In 2017, Muhammad threatened to sue Ross for intellectual property theft. Now, he’s followed through and also named Roc Nation in the suit. The case will go to small claims court since Muhammad is seeking a sum of $9,999.

SportsRe: worldcup: 5 Reasons Why Nigeria Lost The Match To Argentina by zion69(op): 10:25am On Jun 28, 2018
Do u agree?
Sportsworldcup: 5 Reasons Why Nigeria Lost The Match To Argentina by zion69(op): 10:24am On Jun 28, 2018
Super Eagles of Nigeria crashed out of the 2018 World Cup after losing 2-1 to Argentina in the final round of the group stage matches. A match that determined the fate of both countries.

The match went as one would have expected – for the most part. but there were a lot of lapses in judgement that cost us a much-needed victory. Many people attributed the loss to racism, the referee being too impartial, and FIFA wanting Argentina and Messi to qualify to further their own financial agenda (politics eh?! pfft!), and even though the Super Eagles were at a loss, there were 5 very glaring reasons that made Nigeria lose the match against Argentina.

Another Striker strikes blanks
The first question is, ‘why, o why do Edo strikers always miss glorious chances at the World Cup?’ Chances that if scored, would have seen us qualify to the next round.
Rewind to 2010 and we were all shouting and spitting some very hefty words when Yakubu Aiyegbeni missed that glorious chance against South Korea, and now Ighalo did the same thing against Argentina. What’s worse was the fact that he now started crying for a penalty after he missed his chance. Pfft!

Failing to park the bus
I actually can’t believe I’m saying this, but God bless Mourinho for inventing the ‘parking the bus’ tactic and Diego Simeone for perfecting it. It’s a textbook tactic. When the current scoreline is favourable to you and you aren’t looking to score extra, especially when you are playing against a team that’s stronger than you, YOU PARK THE BUS!!!

So why in the Lord’s name would Gernot Rohr decide not to park the bus from starting from when the time was between 75-80th minute. If he had brought in more defenders, the defence would have been too choked up and Argentina wouldn’t have been able to breakthrough. Instead, he watched as Argentina brought in three new strikers, and it was only after Rojo put the Argentines back in front that Rohr brought in Iwobi (who is an attacker). That in no way favoured Nigeria. Wrong tactics! Very wrong!

Little to no Nigerian fans in the stadium
There is something about playing in front of your own crowd that gets you hyped and motivated to make sure you win just so that you can bring smiles to the faces of the fans in the stadium. Now even though about 150 million Nigerians were watching the match from a television screen, the stadium itself was packed with 98% Argentines and there were just about 2% Nigerians in the stands. It may not have seemed like much, but trust me, people cheering you on live and direct, and hearing the people in the stands cheer you on is a great motivator. Look at how Argentina were celebrating with their fans after.

Believing in superstitions and animal predictions
Nigerians will believe in anything! Maybe we are that gullible, but many people (and probably the players themselves) believed the pig and the cat that said Nigeria was going to reach the semi-final and also win Argentina respectively. If we had trusted our effort, put in more work, practised and employed the right tactics, we would have gone very far. Not believing in spiritual forces or animal predictions and co.

The right players failing to turn up
Asides from Ahmed Musa, the midfielders and the defenders, the other players all failed to turn up at the 2018 World Cup. Especially the attackers; Ighalo, Iwobi, and Iheanacho were all disastrous at this tournament. Ighalo missed glorious chances that would have helped us qualify, Iheanacho was too selfish with the ball (probably why Pep Guardiola dropped and sold him off and he barely gets playing time at Leicester City), and Iwobi did absolutely nothing to write home about all through the tournament (even the few times he played). The three of them put up very shameful performances. Also, with Victor Moses falling anyhow and only Ahmed Musa trying in the attack, it was quite difficult for the Super Eagles to get anything on goal or create/take chances.

Well, regardless, the Super Eagles still did us proud because no one expected them to tension the group like that and cause that much of a ruckus. And the fact that it feels like the system being against us helped Argentina qualify is enough proof!

Soar Super Eagles, Soar!

What do your think?
CelebritiesDo You Agree? Habits That Might Ruin Wizkid’s Career by zion69(op): 3:07pm On Jun 25, 2018
Art is such a thing of beauty, meant to be valued and appreciated. People commonly find beauty in works of art and they appreciate them by passing compliments. Sometimes they go as far as paying a few (or a lot of) bucks just to have the right to keep the piece of art whose beauty has been registered in the heart.

Beyond these two forms of appreciation of art, giving out awards is another way to appreciate good works of art, especially if the awards are given based on merit, without bias or sentiment. That’s the idea behind awards like The Grammys & Golden Globe.

Music being a form of art is usually appreciated through compliments, paid for with scarce resources, and in fact huge and expensive events are held to celebrate excellence & brilliance in the art of music making. Artistes and their works are gathered, grouped, rated and the best in the different groupings are awarded for their respective standout materials.

I believe that’s the concept of the Headies Awards, SoundCity MVP Awards and the other prestigious awards that Wizkid has snubbed over the years. If it happened once it could have been a mistake. Twice – it could have been an unfortunate event but the consistency with which Wizkid treats Nigerian award ceremonies with contempt, suggests that it is a habitual thing.

Anyone following the music industry in Africa would agree Wiz is amongst the most frequently nominated artistes on the continent. The Starboy has been named on the nominee’s list of different awards, in different categories but he consistently snubs the events. It seems Wizkid has convinced himself to think that he is bigger than African music awards but even at international award ceremonies and events, Wizkid is usually absent.

Weezy’s failure to perform at the Coachella Music & Arts Festival epitomises his habit of absenteeism and unprofessional acts. His excuse was that he couldn’t secure visa for his band members but that has the sound of a late minute arrangement.

With enough time before the event, Wizkid had multiple options – one was to try multiple attempts to sort out visa issue, if that fails, set-up a makeshift band in US (where the event held) and prepare well enough to deliver a groundbreaking performance. If all that fails, inform the organisers of the event early enough of your challenges and inability to make it to the event, so the general public could be fed beforehand with the gist that there’s no Wizkid performance happening at Coachella.

Sadly none of these logical options was taken and it is even more sad that the manner with which Wizkid & his management communicated the botched Coachella performance reeks of disrespect especially to his fans who sing his chorus, praise him on Twitter and defend him with their best words during music debates – first he promised to makeup for his initial failure, the promise wasn’t kept and he just hushed like he didn’t just (figuratively) disappoint a whole continent.

Silence! Really? The millions of Wizkid fans across the globe who were looking forward to seeing their star singer wow the same audience as Beyoncé, while also showing to the world a side of Africa that is uniquely beautiful, deserve an explanation. If truly Wizkid cares about them like he claims on social media and during interviews he would have given reason for dashing their hopes not once but twice. But does he even care at all?

During a press briefing, Wizkid explained that he does not attend international awards (and perhaps events) that do not respect African artists; but then he treats Coachella and his fans with so much disrespect. How about the tens of native awards that he refused to attend or even acknowledge? Isn’t respect supposed to be reciprocal?

Around the tail end of last year, Wizkid was named “Young Person of the year” at The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) 2017. The prize was perhaps the biggest of the night, as it had the brightest young creatives on the African continent in the list of nominees.

However, Weezy, the eventual winner was absent at the event. The award, TFAA isn’t BET, it isn’t MOBO, it is an award organised by Nigerians to acknowledge inspiring young Africans making a difference through social good and creativity, and it would have been complimentary to have the biggest winner of the night honour the awards.

I believe Wizkid was in town at the time of the award. I believe he was notified of his nomination and he was well aware of the details of the event but he did not show up, and surprisingly, he didn’t show any sign of appreciation for the TFAA Awards particularly, not even the social media displays that they (artistes) often do and like he did for his MOBO Award.

His reason for not attending the TFAA Award ceremony and the tens of other awards ceremonies he has snubbed remains a quiz. It has raised further questions like; does he not see awards as validation? Is he too big for these awards? Or can’t he stomach watching other nominees beat him to awards? Or does he just snub awards for fun?

Whatever Wizkid’s reason(s) for snubbing awards is(are), the frequency of his snubs does not project him as a creative who takes feedbacks and critiques seriously or enough to channel them into bettering his craft and it could turn out to be the ultimate hunter of his precious art.

Celebrities“mr. P Stole ‘ebeano’ Idea From Me” – Singer, Henry Knight by zion69(op): 2:23pm On May 10, 2018
Singer Mr. P has been dragged into a hot social media mess by an aspiring music star who goes by the name, Henry Knight. The budding singer recently called out Mr. P for stealing his song, Ebano.
Not too long ago, Mr. P released a song titled Ebeano and it has been enjoying a fair size of buzz which unsurprisingly skyrocketed after a budding singer, Henry Knight, came out to say the superstar stole his 2015 single to make his (Mr. P’s) latest release. Curiously, the title of Henry Knight’s single is similar to that of Mr. P’s new release.

Henry Knight released a lengthy post, expressing his disappointment at Mr. P and other superstars who he said rips-off younger artistes. He also put out details of his songs like the release date, the name of the producer and claimed that Mr. P ‘copied the hook of the song’ without giving him due credit. He cited the instance of Davido and how he credited Teni for writing his 2017 hit single titled Like Dat, using it to admonish Mr. P. He concluded his post by borrowing Davido’s now famous mantra, ‘we rise by lifting others‘, asking Mr. P to take a cue from it.

RomanceRe: Five Major Components Of A Side Chick By JORO OLUMOFIN by zion69(op): 9:51am On Apr 14, 2018
Enjoy
RomanceFive Major Components Of A Side Chick By JORO OLUMOFIN by zion69(op): 9:51am On Apr 14, 2018
Relationship expert, Joro Olumofin is out with another mind blowing controversial, explosive piece about sidechicks and in it, he explains the 5 major components of a sidechick.

Check it out below:

This Journal encompasses 5 major components:

Definition of a Sidechick
Types of Sidechicks
Origin of a Sidechicks
Can a wife be a Sidechick?
How do you eliminate Sidechick?
Definition of a Sidechick : A SideChick is Any lady who is having a love affair or sexual relations with a man who is committed to another lady by Law or Love.

Types of SideChicks :
1) Accidental Sidechicks
2) Intentional SideChicks
1) Accidental Sidechicks : These are naive , sometimes innocent ladies who fall victim or prey to the charms of a married man or a man who is in a serious relationship with someone else. These ladies are not aware that these men are committed by love or law to another women. They devote years of their lives to those men, they love, cherish, cook, invest his business so that he can ultimately marry them but they don’t know they are dating a “ghost”. Most Accidental Sidechicks usually turn into Intentional sidechicks because most times when the truth gets out that the man who they have dedicated their time to is married. They are too emotionally attached to leg go, they console themselves by saying when I met him I didn’t know he had a wife or fiancé.

Enjoy More Here Church mistakenly prints Tupac’s lyrics instead of printing Christmas Carol song
2) Intentional Sidechicks: These are ladies who because of financial hardships, loneliness, “No boyfriend syndrome”, unhappiness in their own relationships, laziness etc go into relationships with a man who is committed by law or love to someone else. These ladies are a problem, they treat this man as their first born child ; control him, give him orders/ chores, manage his businesses, promise him everything his wife can not provide. For example: ” your wife is giving you only daughters, let me give you a son, your wife doesn’t allow you do anal sex, try it with me, ” let’s do a party with my friend”. These ladies are true Psychologists, they take the deepest needs of a man and use it to control him hence distancing him from his family, responsibility and children.

Origin of Sidechicks: Sidechicks originate from so many factors, there isn’t one factor we can pin point. But as Africans I would like to talk about 3 points
1) Generational Sidechicks
2) Bad Economy
3) Low self esteem

1) Generational Sidechicks: This has to do with the Cognition, the mental archetypes of some young ladies and what they saw their parents do. A lot of ladies saw their mothers, aunties and guardians assume the role of INTENTIONAL SIDECHICKS without consequences. Some people even credit their success to being a Sidechick. I received an Email in 2016 where this lady stated that ” Yes I am a Sidechick/ Mistress, my mother was a Sidechick and 2nd wife and she Is happy, I never lacked anything so what’s wrong with me being a Sidechick too??” She was crucified in the comment section but to her that is normalcy, it is a norm, she doesn’t see anything wrong with it. She will pass the same values to her children as well. She sees nothing wrong in herself or her daughter taking someone else’s husband.

2) Bad Economy : Most youth corpers, unemployed ladies, private school and public school university students fall victim to the Bad Economy. The only power a man has over a lady who doesn’t have finances is MONEY . Men use that power and the promise of a better life to lure ladies into their nest or den. And once you’re in ,it’s hard to get out because emotions, pregnancy may tie a lady down .

3) Low Self Esteem: The major reason for Sidechicks around the world is low self esteem. Any lady who really knows her worth won’t subject herself to being number 2 or have a sex for money relationship.

I was a guest on a TV show once and the topic was can a wife be a Sidechick?
Yes, I totally agree. A wife or a girlfriend can assume the role of a Sidechick when the man is now emotionally committed to the original Sidechick. You find the wife being ” the day after lady” , she’s not aware of or can’t control her husband’s movements or plans. She is now a relic, an old furniture in her own marriage.

A lady once sent a mail to my blog and said. I want to know if I’m still married ? I feel like a Sidechick, I don’t know my husbands where abouts or movements”

How do you eliminate Sidechicks ?
I’m sorry to disappoint you Ladies, Wives, Girlfriends, you can not eliminate Sidechicks.
They are like extraneous variables in Psychology, very stubborn and unpredictable. But you can control them and be one step ahead. Be vigilant in your marriage, relationship. Try your best to be the best. Be prayful. Very key.

And most importantly have your own finances. The reason why a lot of women , ladies are stuck in detrimental relationships is that they don’t have the ” vex money” to leave the marriage or relationship. When a man knows you can’t leave, he will do and undo because he knows when he wakes in the morning you’ll still be there.

CelebritiesSinger 2baba Reveals Intention To Participate In Politics by zion69(op): 10:31am On Apr 12, 2018
Singer, 2Baba revealed his intention to contest for political office, according to PM News. The singer who was once criticized for pulling out of a protest in demand of good governance, which he initiated, made this revelation in Lagos.
2baba spoke about his interest in politics and his plan to contest for a position soon but he held back the detail of the position he is interested in and the party under which he would be contesting. He said:

“Politics affects everything I do. So, I am definitely going to be interested in politics. I will soon participate as a contestant and speak the truth at all times.

I hope and pray that good men will rise up and make a difference in this country, because we need more patriotic people in all aspects of life.”

The singer also addressed the herdsmen crisis ravaging his home state, Benue State. He called on people to continue to send relief materials to the state, to help and support the affected communities. He said:

“There is so much we’ve been saying about this crisis, but nothing much has come the way of the victims.

We just need more people to support and join hands to continue extending relief materials to affected people.

This is the most important thing we can now do; bring succour to the victims

This thing is going on for too long, repeating itself over and over. There has to be a solution, the victims are not goats they are humans and should be taken care of.

I feel terrible not because it also happened in Benue State, where I hail from, but because it is also happening almost throughout the federation.

It does not have to happen to someone you know before you speak up about it.

It was earlier reported that J.Cole would be performing in Lagos at a concert tagged “Castle Lite Unlocks”, on April 27, 2018. The concert put together by Castle Lite Nigeria, is scheduled to hold at the Eko Hotels & Suites. The expectation of Nigerians for the concert was heightened by the news that two of the biggest pop stars in the country, Wizkid and Davido, would be performing at the event.

Music/RadioRe: Record Labels Verses Spotify : Who Needs Who More? by zion69(op): 7:14am On Apr 12, 2018
Spotify has turned it self to a very huge brand
Music/RadioRecord Labels Verses Spotify : Who Needs Who More? by zion69(op): 7:14am On Apr 12, 2018
Following Spotify’s recent DPO earlier this week, much of the financial commentary around the listing emphasised the company’s loss-making status. Those familiar with Spotify’s business model know this is attributable to the sizeable fees the company pays out to rights holders—the gatekeepers to the very content that allows Spotify to exist. Try launching a streaming service without even just one of the major labels/publishers.

How to remedy this issue and reach profitability remains a topic of debate. Some believe that greater fragmentation in rights through music services disruptions (Kobalt etc.) chipping away at major label influence will change the dynamics to the point where Spotify relies less on a few key players. Others foresee Spotify taking a leaf out of Apple’s book and begin acting more like a label and/or purchase labels themselves. However, Spotify is not yet too big to fail; labels could still decide that having the streaming service operating in their territory (copyright, artist development and marketing), given its scale and data capabilities, may be too risky and pull their catalogue from the service. However, with streaming becoming a significant part of the recorded music industry’s revenue, at what point would Spotify become indispensable to their bottom line, that moves into their territory would mean they could not bring themselves to remove catalogue.

In the short-term, moving into this territory would represent a substantial risk. However, it allows the company to aggressively discuss an expansion of its ad-supported offerings, which takes Spotify into radio territory as this industry holds limited influence over the company, unlike the recorded music industry.

In the short-term, moving into this territory would represent a substantial risk. However, it allows the company to aggressively discuss the expansion of its ad-supported offerings, which takes Spotify into radio territory as this industry holds limited influence over the company, unlike the recorded music industry.

The eternal conflict between suppliers and retailers is not a new issue in any market. In 2015, streaming was 22% of the total recorded music market. That now nearly doubled to 42% by the end of 2017. Additionally, streaming makes up the following percentages of total recorded music revenue for each respective company below:

46% of WMG
44% of Universal
43% of Sony
37% of the Independent sector.

This would suggest the independent sector is at present more resilient to a streaming collapse than the major labels.

Distinctions in the online video vs music industry: Streaming in online video and music are often compared, and yet the landscapes they operate in are distinct. Netflix can divide and rule within the TV industry as there are so many companies; Spotify plays in an industry with three major players (WMG, Universal and Sony) controlling the majority of the market. These companies still exert considerable influence on how Spotify pays for their content. Otherwise – Spotify does not have a business.

Soft power versus hard power: Spotify in many ways has already won the war in terms of its cultural influence. Go into any major label marketing department focusing on emerging artists, and you will find the focus has changed to emphasise playlist placements over radio spots. With the passage of time, fewer artists from the pre-streaming era will be relied upon to make up the numbers via monetising an older and wealthier audience.

Spotify’s DPO is a milestone, but we have still not reached the end destination with streaming. With Facebook and YouTube expanding heavily into the ad-supported tier of the market, expect a few more twists and turns in the coming years.
