I don't know if that's true but you bring up interesting arguements. I thought they left mainly because of the demographic composition of country in general and assuming they'd have certain rights under federal system practiced there at the time.

It is in the public domain and they made it clear that Igbos had concentrated everything in Enugu and dominated all aspects of both governance and civil service of the defunct Eastern region.

Before there was an Abuja, there was Enugu.

You will go to Calabar and find an Igbo as a Clark in a Local Govt office. Where Igbos the only educated people?

The pogroms that claimed thousands of Igbo life's was still taking place after the aburi accord, this made Ojukwu declare biafra, because the killings were so much on igbos,he wanted to save them in his own way,Many dead bodies of igbos arrived the east at that year 1966 to be buried.
We are talking about people loosing their life's in thousands up north, you are talking about "taking orders" and "ND oil".

And what carried you to the north?

The British used to address the north as a Fundamentalist Islamic State. Other nationalities down south where weary of having anything to do with the north and even wanted a seperate nation out of NIgeria but you Igbos whom escorted the WHite man as houseboys, cooks, cleaners and clerks to the north saw the north as heaven on earth when compared to your graveyard region.

I have no pities for your people then and now as you are the same idiots the north will target in their region in order to foist their political will,

Whatever blame you want on Ironsi accepted except the lie that he Unified Nigeria no, because if he did what is Aburi for..
Makes no sense

Ojukwu never wanted Gowon to lead yes because a major from the west was next in line..
But when he saw the western major wasn't interested he gave up and wanted Aburi...
And it wasn't over Oil, massacres were going on..

You can not in any way exonerate Igbos for the foolishness they found themselves.

Who send una to go an oust the PM?

Who send una to dismantle regional govt and place yourselves as heads of govt under an Igbo dictorship?

Understably you never had any kings or traditional stools beyond your hamlet chief, was that reason enough to disolve all tribal associations and disregard tribal leaderships like the House of Chiefs in Yoruba land ?

Your gross primitive ways made you to accept Marxism without question and so you thought of forcefully unifying strangers whom your ZIk wanted to remain together after British exist.

It is no secret that the north and WEST wanted an independent state but only you Igbos craved for one NIgeria knowing fully that if a referrendum was extended on the question of who wants to remain in Nigeria every nationality would have left you to your blighted 5 leprous states.

Now I can see you're a brainwashed ijaw man

Idiot I am no Ijaw.

Stop with your identity politics and see for a fact that Igbos are resented by the Niger Delta people universally than any other tribe in Nigeria and this stems from the period when we were together in the defunct Eastern Nigeria.

Were the Abazonians Ijaw as well when they opted to leave Nigeria to avoid your domineering disposition over the other minorities?

There's nothing like an Igbo coup or any of the nonsense people use to justify barbarism.
The coup plotter head officers were not solely of igbo stock to start with,is ademoyega an igbo man?
Btw the end point of the coup was to Install Chief Obafemi Awolowo as head of state,is Awolowo now an Igbo man, since it's an "Igbo coup"? Ironsi was also targeted by the coup plotters but he outsmarted them, some where even afraid of him, when did Nzeogwu make ant statement to spare the igbos? Did his bobdy language show such, infact the so called "Igbo coup" was stopped by an Igbo man.
The fear of Igbo domination usually called "Igbophobia" has been there in Nigeria even before any coup was thought of,talk of Amadu Bello's known speech. They only use the term "Igbo coup" to justify the Igbo pogroms that claimed thousands of life's in the north in 1966. Ironsi's unfortunate attitude for dealing Justice to the coup plotters, escalated the situation any ways. After the counter coup killing Ironsi and killing over 300 Igbo soldiers, what can justify the thousand Igbo pogrom deaths in the north that refused to cease?
