They don't qualify for whatever you intend

Even your article didn't say it's citizens are poor, but migrant workers.
If migrants workers gets the same equal rights as citizens why not kuku make them citizens and stop calling them migrants
I totally agree. The poster must have been smoking something extremely heavy.

We can all say he shouldn't have taken his life.
However, it is spoiled and insensitive person that expects a man to.provide 15000 dollars monthly for upkeep of any child.

Now that he's gone, maybe the state would produce 15k monthly.

Let's see.
Bro, when a court is asking you to drop $15k every month, it simply means you make a lot of money. The children must continue to live the standard you have set when things were going well. It is all about the children.

Now that he's gone, the ex wife will still get his monthly pension payment and a lump sum life insurance payment to continue to take care of the children he left behind.

See Man's insensitivity to another man's plight/death

Dr. Ikenna married to the worst family in the world.

I just wonder how the friends couldnt rally round and help him get stable mentally at his darkest moment

Philosopher Seneca said "Death is the wish of some, the relief of many, and the end of all. It sets the slave at liberty, carries the banished man home, and places all mortals on the same level, insomuch that life itself were a punishment without it"
Again, a coin has 2 sides. Nobody knows exactly what went down. But I can tell you for free that divorce and child support can be very frustrating in USA, especially when you make a lot of money and don't get along with your ex wife. It is hell; there is nobody, no friends that can help reduce this burden on your state of mind. I know a couple of guys that are going through similar situation...it is a lonely dark place. You just have to man up by staying strong and focusing on doing your very best to maintain sanity and take care of your children.

Now that the young man is dead, will the wife not still take care of that medically challenged child and the others?

The husband is a medical doctor who's well aware of what it costs to take care of his children monthly. Would he have gone berserk if he felt the $15,000 was justified?
Child support is a certain percentage of your total monthly income. If he was paying $15k, it simply mean he was making a lot of money; maybe something around 40k per month.

givedemwotowoto:
I don’t want to speculate on whether $15,000 was outrageous or not because I don’t have all the information, but any man who pays child support should make 100% decision of what school his children go to, and what events and activities they’re enrolled in that cost money. That’s what every provider who is with their children do. That decision should not be made by the woman and forced on the man by the court. If the wife doesn’t agree, she can get a job and augment. The child belongs to the man too and he wants the best for them.

I know litigation costs a lot of money, but he could’ve appealed the decision rather than take the suicide route.

Update: I see some people think the family will be broke because of his exit, but that’s not usually the case, probably most men at his career level have insurance policies worth millions, often facilitated through their workplaces and/or private insurance, so the family should be fine financially.

Also for educational purposes, many/most life insurance policies in the US cover suicide with an exclusion period, usually within the first year or two, which means after one or two years, suicide is covered
It doesn't work this way bro. Laws are different in USA.
It is all about what is best for the children

Precisely Bro. If an elder is displaying error of Judgement, as Shinedu's dad is showing, then we will respectfully agree to disagree with him without insult.

Of course he is duty-bound to support his son and tout his 'Yorubaness' but we proper Yorubas see Shinedu as a traitor with a nefarious agenda for wanting to be Governor.

We therefore won't join issues with Shinedu's dad but the powers-that-be will simply do the needful, haven identified Shinedu to be an enemy-within 100%, to ensure the political career of his son, in Lagos, is dead and buried.

That's how Yorubas work with devotion to principles and without noise. 2027 will be fun 😎😎💯
Absolutely!
But he better don't cross the line or else we will respectfully ship him out with his son

His dad can make whatever claim he wants. Yorubas are not mannerless and uncouth to elders like those that wake their grandparents up with kicks and slaps. Therefore we cannot insult Shinedu's dad.

Suffice to say our Uncle does not know his sons antics, or wishes to feign ignorance of it, that has made most Yorubas conclude Shinedu is never Gbadebo or indeed a true brother to any Yoruba.
We (Yoruba people) simply do not go around disrespecting our elders. We are not cockroaches.
The last time I checked the label called OMOLUABI isn't from Onitsha or Abia, but belongs to the Yoruba people 100%. Abeg, allow the mother to go find her baby daddy in Aguata, Anambra... Peter Obi should feel free to help.

My dad was with him while I was in the backseat of the car and told Akintola to leave! He said I will be an "Omo Akin" his last words meaning BRAVE TILL THE END. Akintola reportedly exchanged gunfire with the soldiers. MY FATHER AND I HAD JUST LEFT HIS HOUSE THAT MORNING minutes before the army arrived !! They could have killed him too considering they were sparing the children that morning and letting us witness TRAUMA.

This is my favorite part, "Omo Akin" his last words meaning BRAVE TILL THE END.
I also discovered that Ahmadu Bello said the same thing when he was advised to leave the country.

Now guess the name of a warrior that abandoned his people in the middle of the war and escaped out of the country?
Answer: Ojukwu
The man did not think twice, before he quickly escaped from the country.. grin

Before he was captured with his side kick, I believe Koward Kanu also did exactly the same thing (abandoned his people and escaped out of the country)

I would rather we stop opening fresh wounds where one is already healing.
However, the determination of some people to rewrite history - believing that the louder they scream concocted lies about, the more history will be rewritten - will only force more people to come out and set the record straight!
Whether you're wounded or healing, the history must continue to go on. It is up to an individual to purchase the book or believe the content of the book. To move forward to great things, one must continue to discover his or her history.
If you have nothing to hide, let the history go on.

I'm still very shocked to recently discover the hopeless group that senselessly killed Ahmadu Bello, Tafawa Balewa, Akintola and many others. For this reason, everything is starting to make sense; I now know why folks from all angles resent this classless and selfish group.
I can't wait to get my hands on this very interesting book.. Sister Kemi, abeg carry on...NOTHING DO YOU!

Folks that are circumcising girls should be jailed for 200 yrs.

One my worst experience is being in a relationship with a lady that is circumcised.
She doesn't feel anything, but always willing to do anything to satisfy me. I didn't like it at all....Being in a relation is all about satisfying each other, a two-way road.
May God bless circumcised girls and ladies!

As Ednut stated, getting sex isn't hard for a Nigerian woman regardless of where she resides. In fact, this applies to ALL women. In the Nigerian case for those in the abroad, the men are even in dire need of sex than the women. The preek of the average Nigerian man, regardless of location, is the cheapest commodity to get.

There's a reason why compared to men, women are demisexual. It's men that need sex more than women due to excess testosterone and more so for black men as prostate cancer would be prevented.
Folks keep forget the difference between having sex and making love...These 2 mindsets separate men from women.
Got it?
