I used the USSD code to open mine too, and I did send #100 into it from a different a/c after receiving message containing my a/c no, and I did received credit alert of the value immediately which tells d a/c is up and running.

Mine is 2k but unfortunately I didn't open the account as I only went to confirm my name before doing that . They requested for my email address to check but my email is not among .
