6 months ke? That's 24 weeks. As a first timer in 2016, with very little experience, my first set of Noilers started laying at 18 weeks. And from experience, anything that causes them not to lay at 20 weeks means they weren't fed properly.

Thanks for this clarification. Na the farmer we deh by our side give us that. His Noilers are past 5 months and they aren't laying yet. Hope our guys wouldnt disappoint.

HAHAHAHA! I told you this a couple of weeks ago. From experience, those birds almost finished me. And me I was raising just 100. The next time I raised 50 after that experience, I made sure I had 5 bags down from the start.

Reason one has to start. Your experience will force you to learn. Wouldn't repeat this again.

Thanks boss. As we changed their feed sha, they became really weak o. Don't know what we are going to do with our own formulated feed. Money weh no de don go...

We don go back to chikun starter.

Okay. Better. Best to stick to the commercial feed, even if you reduce their feeding.

He probably was feeding them with formulated feed. It will take longer, but they will eventually start laying.

Hello boss. These Kuroilers wan finish their papa o. I don't know they eat like this o.

P.s if you want to raise over 100 Kuroilers, kindly do that where they can free-range o. They can finish you o if you are a struggling guy like myself.

Don't you measure their feed you?

Noo from my broiler experience you don't just change feed overnight.

You mix their feed in the ratio of 3:1, 3 parts of old feed 1part of new feed. Next week 2:2, upper week 1:3, t?start reducing increasing the new feed and reducing the old feed until you have only new feed.

This is shocking oo grin grin as I'm planning to breeding kuroilers for frozen chicken business.

Please what was their weight at maturity?

How many months does it stay to mature?

Is their carcass be good for frozen chicken business?

I don't know about the bolded.

What I know...at 3 months, they will be over 1kg...maybe 1.8kg...some will be over 2 kg. But the magic happens between 3-4 months. By 4 months and beyond, they get to the 3-4 kg territory.

The change really affected them that they can barely stand and we lost some sef. We went back to industrial feed and they are getting better. The formulated feed was a lot more expensive but less effective. We wouldn't be going back to that soon.

If you wouldn't be free-ranging them, I wouldn't advise you raise them for frozen foods. Do your broiler jeje and slaughter 6 weeks.

She don hatch since Saturday, but I'm not happy because most of the eggs did not hatched. She hatched just 1 turkey, 2 noiler and 2 naked neck. I remove all the chicks on Sunday and gave her 17 naked neck eggs to brood for 21 days, she is sitting on them, I will take care of the chicks

What's the difference between agric and local please.

olab059:

This your story reminded of when I was doing my youth service in a village in th east, and I was bored, so I went to the market to buy two chicks. I thought they were agric...but later found out they were local. They started following me everywhere. Imagine walking around your corpers lodge to see all your friends, and two black chicks following you about. Even when I would be gisting with friends or playing whot with friends, they will come and sit on my head or shoulder. lol! They thought I was their mother. grin

Unfortunately, they followed me to see one of my friends one day, and while waiting outside, they ate ants that had been killed with Sniper, and it killed them. It was so heartbreaking...I had bonded with them so much.

This is beautiful. But wouldn't that be too hard on her? She just brooded for 21 days and you giving her a new set of eggs?

Agric is Broilers, Cockerels, etc...they are man made. Local is ibile chicken that you see around, some with no owners...local is chicken that God made grin That's the best way I can explain it.

Just buy 6-7 weeks Noilers/Kuroilers. If you have compound, just let them roam around, and feed them once or twice a day.

After changing their feed, they became really weak. They seem to be getting better a lot faster. We are day 42 today.

Farmtech, i am currently following your feeding chart for pullets: weight and dialy consumption. What was your result and production when you did yours? Do they produce for a year+ ? Hope you are still in the poultry business?

Haha....I seriously think she needs to rest. It's not about feeding. Having to be on a spot doesn't look cool.

Build yourself a small wooden incubator and hatch as many eggs as you want.

.
It has been a long time. I think I achieved up to 95% lay until a small negligence lead to disease outbreak. I blamed it on not cleaning their pen as I normally do. So ammonia gas reduced their immunity and caused CRD/Coryza outbreak. They later recovered after spending on drugs. Some died too.
.
I couldn't continue because my mum sold the old layers on credit to her friend. And up till today she has not paid oo. I have to divert unprepared into crop farming. It was tough but I'm rising slowly.
.
Yes, I think they produced for that long. Feed cost is now something else. I have my eyes mainly on ruminant farming.
.
How many birds do you have?
