We all have been fooled to think English word must have meaning in our native languages. We no longer remember we are a unique people that had nothing to do with English language as ours before the 13th century. The truth is African languages left unpolluted are richer than English, and as a result English can't compete with them in lexicon. We had much more in our vocabulary before Europeans terrorists arrived Africa. It's only after our defeat and after we were forced to adopt English as our language that we began losing the richness in our native languages.

There're still many words in Igbo that have no way of saying it in English. Even in Pidgin, words like "Na waah" have no way of saying it in English. The best you can do is explain it.

Head pad, like heli pad etc, would serve better I think. We shouldn't forget that Oyinbo uses his head for thinking. Na only we dey use to carry load

Amala is not Yam flour.
Not after it is made into Amala. You can loosely translate Elubo or Lafun to Yam flour, but even that technically wouldn’t be correct. It is just an improvised translation.

Moimoi isn’t bean pudding either, lol.
