You should shut your mouth, because everything he said is true. You'd think that someone like him would have more insight into the matter, considering he was born and raised in a country that actually functions (England).

How is that hypocrisy, he’s speaking about Ibori from his own personal perspective. If his perception of the man was positive, based on his interactions with the guy, should he now turn around and call Ibori the devil, because he was arrested for corrupt practices?

He can only speak on what he knows, if the man is corrupt (which he is), then he should be tried and convicted, but that doesn’t negate the positive things that he did.

You spoke exactly what some of us already know but unfortunately John, majority of Nigerians will surely disagree with you. There is this attitude of get rich quick that has enveloped the nation. People just want money and free things. Free education, free food, free houses, free cars or if they are not free, government must find a way to supply the cash. Creativity and Productivity has gone to zero. Majority of the people including the young ones are lazy minds. Most minds are occupied with movies, phones, what to wear and what to eat.
What to produce is alien to the minds of our people. No body is seeking for solutions to problems, they rather want to wake up one night and discover that we have power supply for 24 hours.

Dear John, parents now buy promotion and admission for their children. It is that bad!

The ethnic/religious divide has destroyed the nation and there is no hope as at now. Nigeria is on the brink and it is a pity that voices like ours are not being heard.

Wait, they will soon call you names! They have already started here on Nairaland. Yet, we have hope that a catalyst will cause the reaction that will force our leaders to call for a national Conference.

Emm, John, I disagree with you on Ibori. maybe because you were not here or whatever, Ibori was a bad guy. Hahahahahaha John, don't mind, most of the Nigerian politicians are bad guys, so Ibori is not a rear case.

I am sure you are employing NURTW tactics on Fashanu, because he has painted the true picture of Nigeria in very civil terms. The man has increased my respect for him a hundredfold.
He has put across highly intellectual arguments about why the country is the way it is and why people like El Rufai who have invested in the status quo, want the status quo to persist.

Fashanu painted a picture of Nigeria that no awuf luv'n phuck or parasite will find comfortable, so the leather-headed parasites shout him down and throw stones.
No surprises there.

Those of you who are plagued with a desire to see the status quo persist, will always shout down the Fashanu's who see a national conference as the route to true federalism, an end to corruption and ethnic bigotry. They will always attempt to drown out the voices of true lovers of Nigeria with contrived chaos and beelzebubs babel.

How can El Rufai want Nigeria to dialogue with boko haram, yet hate the idea of Nigerians dialoguing with themselves for a way forward in a national conference? That was a masterstroke from Fashanu.

Fasanu aptly said the obvious truth in a pure, undiluted, unadulterated form without any embellishment or ornamentation.
