That's a maiden spirit mask, it's actually a depiction of a young female spirit, or deceased girl (that hair style used to be popular among Igbo women). As far as I know, this mask is wood, the Romans used metal for their helmets no?

Here's the hairstyle that Ezeagu is talking about, although this is a male.

^^^

i wonder why the contemporary ‘black’ african man and woman no longer want to grow and keep their hair. low-cut (men) and weave (women) nor dey let dem see road againgrin which actually help in perpetuating the stereotype that 'blacks' don’t have hair. hey, culture is not static and evolves i guess, but nice hairstyle on that ovbigbo!

Helmet mask.
Is it really Igbo? I don't know why but I feel its ibibio or Efik.
@Pagan, the hairstyle is now re-packaged today as mo-hawk. Lol

yes it is supposed to be Igbo.

haha btw the Mohawk is not so new as you think it is. The Mohawk was actually the traditional warrior hairstyle of the Pawnee Tribe of North America, though it takes its name from the Mohawk Tribe. cool
