The London Olympic is now on its eleventh day and should be finishing by next week. My worry however is that it may well turn out to be the worst Olympics for Nigeria in terms of medal haul. The traditional sprint event which Nigeria usually dominate, at least in Africa, is now in the dustbin. Our boxers are been pummeled for fun, with most of them, if not all been taken out in the first around. Our basket ball team suffered the heaviest defeats in an Olympic game. Like everything in Nigeria, our sport is decaying. Nigeria cannot produce swimmers that can beat the world despite toddlers in Rivers, Cross Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta. Where are those sport men and women that won gold, silver and bronze at the last sport festival in Nigeria. What criteria did they used in selecting all these lazy men and women that are representing us? Are they the best we have in the entire country? How can a country with over 150million people produce people that cannot win a medal for the country when a country with as a low as 5million people are winning medals
