Nice list there but in my own opinion, we didn't have up to ten acceptable quality hip-hop albums this year, it has never gonethis low. I'm just hoping year 2008 spells something god for this dying genre.

I'm a little suprised because you excluded JayZ's American gangster from your list, that album was probably tha best thing tha happened to rap this year. The love Jay had for rap music was shown when he handed out lyrics sheets to critics and removed the tracks from i-tunes stores to make sure everyone appreiated the Nas-like description of the life of Frank Lucas. It's something like 'Trapped in a Closet' but with a poetic side to it, forging the life histories of two different personalities into one. Mos Def a grammy nomination for 2008.
