Accountants/accounting Students Please Help! by wakagirl: 3:18pm On Aug 21, 2012
A matured student planning to study for a degree on part time basis is trying to choose between business studies and accounting. She would prefer accounting but she is poor in mathematics has never passed and hates it with passion.

Please can you advise if poor maths background will affect her performance in Accounting? (someone said acc is not about math but arithmetic and assured she would be fine but math/arithmetic are same to her)

Thanks and thanks in anticipation of your response.

buiness studies is more theoretical while accounting involves business mathematics with a bit of economics

Business Admin in some universities (e.g. ABU) has specialisation with much more mathematical involvement compared to Accounting. So be conscious of this in case you decide to study Business Admin.
