The Vice Chancellor of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Prof. Cyprian Onyeji, who was kidnapped on August 15, 2012, has been released. Onyeji was released at about 11:30pm in Anambra State. He was left by his kidnappers at Igbariam area of area of Anambra State. He was reported hale and hearty when he was released and has since been reunited with his family. The police in Enugu State confirmed his release but did not give details. Onyeji was abducted from the ESUT gate as he was going to his office by gunmen who later called his family to demand for a ransom of N200 million.
