You do make a compelling case and I think that it is reasonable that in an open environment, such criteria should be made open. Since the front page picks up materials from the various sections, I think having a list of actions that make it more likely that a topic makes it there rather than a list of what not to do would serve that purpose.

Agreed but from Manmustwacc's post, I think the deciders just pick the most attention grabbing headlines about pastors or churches or praising islam. It's all about money and drawing in the millions of religious peeps in naija

NO! I disagree with you. I think its more to do with her sentiments and personal feelings. A lot of topics that i recommend for the homepage in another nairaland section called Moderators (which is not visible to normal members of nairaland just us moderators) NEVER! make it to the homepage whereas topics recommended by Maclatunji always seem to make it.

it is not just that. Nairaland MODs are also higly discriminatory against other religions. Upto now, not even "ONE" thread on Traditional Religion has made it to the front page. if it ever has, it is in the form of giving us bad names for other Nairalanders to abuse us such as those on "ritual killings" or "bullet-proof" vests by private individuals. our deep-seated knowledge and religious values are never expounded. This site is so biased. and also its MODs.

the point is we could do that. but it is time confusing (formatting, etc.), and hardly can we educate masses and gain a good following, discussion and ideas in such a private forum, like here in Nairaland, where many Nigerians congregate. it would be best for all concerned, if we push the Nairaland Mods and Chiefs to give us a separate atheist/Pagan or separate atheist and separate Pagan Section(s).

Everything else is few and far in between. I don't mind politics on the front page for useful news. Romance and the rest are just plain pointless.

Having said that, I do understand the need for N'land to capture all range of users which makes it important to keep "attractive" posts like those in the front page!

That's sad.
God does exist though, I know that for a fact. I hope you regain full faith in Islam again.
One thing you should know is that although the atheists seem to be the ones making the most noise here with their back and forth arguments, most of them are not even 100% percent sure that God is non existent. They are still in doubt but they mostly prefer atheism because it gives them the freedom to do what they like without the fear of punishment.
I wish you the best. I'll see if I can send you some video links later that contain info on the origins of the universe that basically proves atheists wrong.
P.s. I noticed that you got a new username to discuss religion, I was wondering if you are the same person as Ibrosaunks. . . .that guy was one of my faves. . . . . . Hope you're not him sha.

I am still muslim mostly because of the kind of parent I have.
My father is staunch member of the Tablegh movement as such if I go down the atheist path he will surely disown me.
This people kinda go violent when it comes to religion.

Am a recent graduate still job hunting (HR Job if u cud be of any help) and need their support as much as possible.
Only when am fully independent can I make such Life changing decision.

Can u imagine I almost got a banking Job , my father was the only reason I couldnt land the offer........yea u guessed right ,Ribba (Interest).

Actually over 95% of the homepage topics have been hand picked by Mukina who just picks what she likes from the various sections of nairaland.

I think that you were not taught the proper message of Islam and that is partly why you are losing your faith. Why don't you start a thread on the Islam section to find out things that you were not sure about regarding Islam? I am sure people there would be able to clear your doubts.
