A retired French school teacher was sentenced to 10 years for raping 4 boys in a judgement hailed by prosecutors as fair. Jean-Claude Alcaras, 71, a former teacher of French & English was arrested in June 2010 after being found with a 9-year-old boy in a toilet at Tahiti's int'l airport. He travelled to Tahiti several times from 2001 as a sex tourist. Jean has admitted abusing some 30 children but investigator believe the number of victims could be as high as 200, based on his testimonies. More still coming |

Continues.. The 4 victims aged around 10, were picked from a school in an impoverished part of Tahiti and were paid £8 to £12 ($10 to $15) to have sex with him. The septuagenarian will serve his sentence outside French Polynesia in line with a request by the parents of the victims. |
